set up sub and pray you get the sp. atk boosts. Focus blast over sludge bomb to not get walled by tinglu and tusk. Electric+dark+fighting coverage hits every meta relevant mon. leftovers to lesson sub damage or LO to just increase damage. Tera poison to set sub on fairy moves, fighting moves and u-turns

Looks like the gimmick sets for every OU mon is finally coming to fruition (also made a gimmick set for every UU mon, but that's not important right now).
Darkrai's main issue normally is dealing with steel types, as it has to rely on focus blast to hit them, and there is a reason it is called focus miss. This set alleviates this issue somewhat with the physical drain punch that can chunk a lot of steel types. This of course is worse than special darkrai, but that fact alone can be a benefit to it.
At +2, darkrai can reach an attack stat of 558. That's just a few points lower than proto attack roaring moon's attack stat, which is known to be powerful. Knock Off gives good dark stab while being a good progress making tool for Darkrai. Drain punch helps with steel types while offsetting LO recoil a bit by giving darkrai recovery. The final slot is quite flexible. Poison jab is standard to hit fairy types super effectively which otherwise can somewhat wall this set, Rock slide can hit some mons such as Zapdos, Volc and Gouging harder while not proccing the burning affects of the later two and Sucker punch can give Darkrai valuable priority to hit faster targets such as Deo-S and Dragapult.
The Tera type is also somewhat flexible. Tera poison is more standard to resist fighting, fairy and Bug type moves while boosting the power of poison jab, Tera fighting keeps your dark resistance and can boost up Drain punches power and Tera Dark can be used alongside Sucker punch to give Darkrai extremely powerful stab priority.

I am a goofer. First thing I post back from a half-term hiatus that sees Arch banned, and... I make a hax set.
TWave, Dark Pulse for flinching and Focus Blast because we love when it hits and want to kill it when it misses, and Trick is here because once sash is gone, you can use it as a lil' thief or just make a mon much weaker (get rekt sun/rain). Fun!
Honestly, I think this is 'The Next Worst Thing' but eh, fun!

Darkrai can offer great support. Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp hinder offensive mons, while Taunt blocks many defensive mons.
Hex to make profit of the status conditions.
Focus Blast hits Kingambit effectively, while Tera Blast Fairy is a good option against other Dark and Dragon-types.
Tera Ghost for immunity to Extreme Speed and Fighting while gaining a STAB boost on Hex. Alternatively, Tera Fairy can be used for a better defensive typing and with Tera Blast. Heavy-Duty Boots to avoid entry hazards damage, Leftovers for recovery.

What It Do
The premise for this set is fairly straightforward, you wanna lock your opponent out of playing the game! The combination of taunt+protect+disable works exceedingly well at shutting down passive mons as well as any mono attacking setup sweepers you might come across. Things like Clodsire or Blissey who might otherwise beat Darkrai in a 1v1 will instead find themselves struggling (lol) to make progress against this set. If you can afford to burn tera, darkrai with a tera ghost also works effectively at stopping mons who use fighting/normal move + one other move to make progress, namely like iron defense Corviknight or Dondozo. Of course as a tera ghost darkrai also provides the added utility of spinblocking which can be nice. Also when considering Darkrai's very respectable speed at base 125 and access to taunt, I have found him to be a serviceable anti-lead option even against more offensively oriented teams. Being able to shut down Glimmora with taunt or H-Samurott with protect+disable preventing them from getting up their hazards early is certainly a skill that deserves mention when considering the merits of this set.

Since this is a more support oriented darkrai set you do only have one slot for an attacking move and that can be your choice with either dark pulse or night shade. STAB dark pulse off of a base 135 sp atk stat speaks for itself and does respectable damage to the unresisted mons in the tier. However if you want a more consistent damage dealing option even against dark resists, night shade is also a reasonable option. It is worth noting however that night shade does take away the ability for darkrai himself to 1v1 blissey although he can still heavily restrict it so another mon can come in better equipped to deal with it.

What It Don't Do
No set is perfect and this one certainly has its flaws as well. The biggest one being that if you decide to use this set you understand that it does allow faster setup mons like roaring moon or iron valiant in and allows them to get a free setup as they force your switch as you basically can't touch them for meaningful damage and you can't taunt them to prevent the setup.

Theres certainly more I can get into this set with the stuff that it can and can't do but I think I covered the biggest points I wanted to talk ab, lmk what yall think!
