Team Building Process
..........
Mawile is a very powerful Pokemon in the OU metagame . It seems like whenever I run into this deadly Pokemon in battle I always end up getting beaten by it. So I decided to make a team featuring this ferocious beast.

Mawile is a toothpick when it comes to Ground, Fighting and Fire type Pokemon/moves. So I decided to use Dragonite, a Pokemon in which can handle these threats. Plus the synergy was perfect.

I needed an extra Pokemon to sponge some extra Ice,Fire attacks aimed at Dragonite and Mawile and I didn't want to use Rotom-W . I wanted something more deadly. My result, Manaphy. Now I have my offensive core.

Every team that includes a Dragonites needs a rapid spinner. So I chose Starmie for a couple reasons. It outspeeds Excadrill with a base speed state of 115. Can switch into incoming status inflicting moves. Can handle fighting type Pokemon which my team hates. And it has access to rain dance which my Manaphy loves.

To be honest I never imagined I would be using this Pokemon competitively. I always disliked it but Landorus made me like it. This genie has a terrific movepool and well rounded stats which can abuse life orb. Plus he is immune to electric attacks and resist grass attacks aimed at my two water type Pokemon.

I needed a reliable Pokemon that can guarantee early rocks in the game with enough power. Mamoswine is the solution. With access to stealth rocks and two STAB's this Pokemon has helped out my team alot.

In Depth Analysis
..........
Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Ice Shard
My Lead. The most important thing that my team needs is to have rocks up early. Focus Sash guarantee's stealth rocks. If my opponent wants to lead with something unnusual let's say Ambipom I just switch into my Mawile to get the intimidate off so my sash doesn't break. There's not really much to say here.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Rain Dance
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
Starmie's main job is to rapid spin away stealth rocks. If rocks aren't out of the field it will become a problem for Dragonite to sweep since MS is broken. I actually found this set on x5Dragon's own RMT. Except I changed Hail to Rain Dance to weaken fire attacks and activate Manaphy's ability. Psychic is for fighting type Pokemon and thunderbolt mainly for Gyarados.
Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Earth Power
- Psychic
- Sludge Wave
This thing is incredible. Not really sure what to say here. Psychic is to deal with Mega Venusaur and fighting types . Earth Power for Heatran. Focus Blast for Ferrothorn. Sludge wave is to deal with those pesky Fairies and the occasional Celebi. This guy 1-2HKO's everything with the help of stealth rocks that isn't a specially defensive based and that doesn't resist it's attacks.
Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
The gif says it all. This Dragonite is incredible. I can sweep with him almost every single time. Weakness policy allows me to gain +2 atk & sp.atk if I'm hit by a super effective attack. This is not a problem for Dragonite because of his bulk and Multiscale . I chose earthquake over fire punch because I didn't really find it that useful in 6th gen. And I wanted that extra power. Extreme Speed is for stab and with a +1 Dragon Dance it allows me to beat Talonflame.
Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Energy Ball
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Tail Glow
This Manaphy can come into an ice attack aimed at Dragonite, proceed to tail glow and sweep away Dragonite's threat. Mawile, Dragonite and Manaphy pretty much work like that. With rain dance up this guy isn't afraid of anything . Energy ball is for the other water Pokemon, ice beam for the flying type pokemon and surf for stab.
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
MAWILE IS NOT PLAYING GAMES ! This guy will take a dump all over your team if used properly. Lots of prediction goes down whenever I use this guy but when I do predict right it pays off. I usually just switch into a physical attacker to lower it's attack with Mawile's intimidate and then when they switch I mega evolve and set up a swords dance. So yeah I love this guy. I almost always can sweep with him. Huge Power + 2 attack = 1357 attack {:<
Conclusion
..........
I would really love to improve this team. Comments and criticisms are appreciated.
