Teamiate
A Metagamiate XY RMT
Peaked at #14 in 1 day | Alt: LordOfSun

Hello there! It's DinaIsha again with yet another OM RMT! Unfortunately this time, I had only one day to play through the Meta. I was able to make it up to #14, which is a tad lower than my expectations, but done is one day nevertheless. Let me be frank - Metagamiate is too offensive for my taste. More often than not, you can Band a Dragonite or Spec a Noivern and shuffle through half of the opponent's team. I played the Meta with a Stall team, but even Walls had a tough time switching in because of the additional BP boost. The offensive route is definitely the better way to go in this Meta. But if you love testing and breaking the spirit of a Meta, this one's for you.

The Strategy

Ferrothorn (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Knock Off

If you're going to build a stall team, Ferrothorn or Skarmory are staples on it. Skarmory can phaze, sure, but with the increased firepower, it can't take a lot of hits, even neutral ones. So you're better off running Ferrothorn for Leech Seeding stuff on the switch and give passive recovery for your other walls. Set up Stealth Rock as soon as possible. Spikes are secondary, but you can switch into Physical Moves, take a chunk of their HP with Iron Barbs + Rocky Helmet and then set up Spikes on the switch if your other walls are at full health. Knock Off is to hit incoming walls on the switch and take off their recovery.

Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Taunt
- Knock Off

For a Meta this quick, you need something quicker to hold it down. Prankster Will-O-Wisp is the exact answer. Burning one or two of your opponent's Pokémon will help Quagsire out a lot, who can otherwise be hammered down by powerful Double Edges and Facades. Taunt comes in handy to prevent further set up, but be sure to predict right. Knock Off is for Espeon and any other thing than needs its recover/Eviolite removed.

quagsire.gif

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Recover
- Scald

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Quagsire is good in a lot of Metas. Good ol' dual-status Stall! Nothing much to explain here except that you don't have a lot of lead time before using Recover. You'll have to use it often to compensate the increased offense of the tier. Predict right and avoid any funny business like trying to live a Special Attack. You'll need Quagsire - trust me!

alomomola.gif

Alomomola (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald

Although not as persistent as Quagsire, Alomomola gets its job done - which is being a good pivot and switching into a number of neutral Attacks. You'll be using Wish most of all to recover your team's health. Quagsire does better to burn with Scald and Stall out, but let's just say Alomo is Plan B. The passive Regenerator recovery helps a lot too.

chansey.gif

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish
- Seismic Toss

You need Chansey in a stall team as much as you need a Skarmory or Ferrothorn. Chansey can switch into Special Attacks all day long - you know that. But what's more important is to predict right and Toxic a Physical Attacker, who'd be expecting you to switch. Once that's done, Quagsire can take care of the rest. Keep Chansey alive if the opponent has a Special Attacker - you have no other way to dealing with things like Noivern's Boomburst.

medicham-mega.gif

Medicham (M) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge/Return
- Ice Punch
- Poison Jab

Medicham is the last resort, not to mention it has excellent moves in Fake Out and Double Edge. You can obliterate common Metagamiate walls with Fake Out + Double Edge. Ice Punch is for Gliscor and Landorus. Poison Jab is for Fairies. If you're down to Medicham, you don't really have a bright chance of winning, but what it does, it does well.
