Texas Cloverleaf sends out Zoan-Charizard and Ivory-Slowking, while Frosty sends out Zant-Sableye and Oshus-Lapras, and the battle begins. Sableye starts off by rushing at Slowking and attacks it in a way that Fakes it Out, causing it to flinch as Charizard launches a Burning Blast of fire at Sableye that scores a direct hit, but then gets struck by water Pumped at high-pressure from Lapras. Charizard then flies at Sableye and bites down on it with Fiery Fangs, only to be struck by a Thunderbolt from Lapras, who has been sitting on the sidelines so far, and Sableye then rakes Slowking with Shadowy Claws, but then gets hit by Scalding hot water in retaliation. Lapras then Pumps more water at Charizard as Sableye causes a bit of Foul Play by attacking Slowking using its own power, scoring a critical hit, but then falls to a massive Blast of fire from Charizard launched in conjunction with a blast of boiling water that Scalds it and knocks it to the ground.

Even with a 2-1 disadvantage, Frosty still has a trick or two left, as Lapras swamps its opponents side of the arena with a wave of saltwater that knocks Charizard unconscious, taking full advantage of the fact that both its foes have to rest and cool down, and then Surfs back to its starting point; however Lapras must rest now, and Slowking Focuses itself and launches a powerful energy Blast at it, scoring a direct hit. Lapras then strikes Slowking with a Thunderbolt, and Slowking tries to reflect the energy used in the attack, but fails and has to settle for firing an orb of electricity at Lapras with Cannon-like force, but Lapras somehow manages to dodge the attack, which instead hits a nearby wall.

Lapras feigns getting ready to shoot a jet of water, causing Slowking to create a Protective barrier to guard itself; however, Lapras was expecting this and sings a haunting Song that predicts the Perishing of both combatants, putting a failsafe into place, then shoots a jet of Water at its foe for real, drenching it. Slowking is unfazed by this, though, and decides to Rest a bit; however, its attempts at sleeping are foiled as Lapras strikes it with a Thunderbolt that spreads across its body and wakes it up with a jolt (no pun intended).
