Sub Dragon Dance
Salamence @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Atk / 124 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Aerial Ace

This set kind of tries to imitate Mega Salamence's bulky Dragon Dance set, though obviously in a worse way since MegaMence was probably the most broken mon to enter OU. This set gives Salamence a lot of setup opportunities thanks to Intimidate, its bulk, and typing in combination with Substitute and makes getting multiple boosts pretty feasible.

Aerial Ace is chosen as the attacking move of choice because Flying has no immunities and covers a wide range of Pokemon. It also helps that a lot of the Pokemon that resist Flying can be trapped by Magnezone and/or Dugtrio. Dragon Claw is usable and that extra BP helps, but getting rid of Fairies (particularly Clefable and Mega Altaria) is not an easy feat, even with good lures. If using Dragon Claw, it's generally best to run EQ over Roost.

The EVs make it impossible for standard Rotom-W to break the Sub without a crit while maximizing power. Along with Rotom, Mence gets setup opportunities on the likes of Ferrothorn, Celebi, Slowbro (unless carrying Psyshock or Ice Beam), Choice-locked or SubCM Keldeo, Lando-T, Mega Charizard Y and oftentimes Mew.

Flymence

Salamence @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate / Moxie
EVs: 114 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fly

At first this was supposed to be a huge gimmick, but the ability to bait status moves and sub on them makes setting up easy. Flying is still a great offensive typing, making Fly a very powerful move. The ability to increase your Lefties heal is also nice as you can get back to a comfortable health range even behind a sub. If you're feeling sexy, use Moxie to snowball.

EVs are for outspeeding megabunny at +1 so you can take a Moxie from her.

Lost my replays but -Clone- lost to this guy, back me up fren

This Weeks Winner is again a Tie, which goes to Gamer Boy's Mixed Mence and FrozenCold's Defensive Mence. Congratz on you two for both entering the Hall of Fame!

The Pokemon For Week 8 is Tyranitar!
/

Tyranitar is one of the most used Pokemon for Sand teams next to Excadrill being a sand abuser. T-Tar has one of the biggest diverse movepools so you can get creative on its set. Also if you are wondering, yes you are allowed to use Mega Tyranitar.

We going back to gen 4 with this blast from old gens past. enter Focus punch tyranitar!

~Darude meme here

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower/ Ice Beam

This is pretty much the good classic tyraniboah set. This set is pretty much ment to bait in some of t-tars typical switch ins such as garchomp, landot, hippo with ice beam or mega scizor, scizor or ferrothorn with flamethrower which can help pave the way for physical attackers that have a ton of issue with these bulky ground types and steels. Dark pulse is your stab attack hitting psychic types, ghost types for solid overall damage while having good neutral coverage alongside focus punch. Next is the crux of the set focus punch+sub which allows you to take advantage of some of the pokemon that switch out on normal t-tar sets that want to avoid taking Stone edge or crunch. sub allows t-tar to safely get off a focus punch while also protecting you from status with enough evs for that nice 100 hp substitutes. Spread can be modified to your liking but keep the hp investment.

Double Dance Mega Tyranitar

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Rock Polish

Similar to the dragon dance m-Ttar set, except Home Claws boosts Tyranitar's attack and accuracy, making stone edge both powerful AND reliable, as the low accuracy can be a problem with the dragon dance set. Another advantage over DD is the ability to boost speed more quickly, making him more effective against offence, and more difficult to revenge kill. For example after one boost he outspeeds scarf Lando-T and CharX after a DD, which DD Tar could only dream of. If you don't mind not outspeeding CharX, you have the option of running adamant for extra power which still outspeeds scarf Lando, M-Zam etc.

Rock Polish+3 attacks Tyranitar

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 156 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Rock Polish

General idea: Tyranitar has great numerical stats all around bar in the Spe department which is really lacking. Rock Polish allows us to fix this problem while the megastone + the Adamant nature try to compensate the loss of the boost in Atk from Dragon Dance. Dual STABs are mandatory with the addition of Earthquake towards Steel types because you don't want to switch out after a Rock Polish if you are forced to use Superpower. The main difference between the Dragon Dance set and the Rock Polish one is that the former hits harder but Tyranitar is revenge killed easily and the latter is better against offence teams (in theory).

Evs spread: an Adamant nature (which makes sense alonside Rock Polish) and maximum Attack investment allow Tyranitar to hit as hard as possible and 156 Speed EVs are used to outspeed minimum Speed Mandibuzz reaching 197 speed in base form. The remaining EVs are used to enhance its bulk. After a Rock Polish -while megaevolving- regular Tyranitar reaches 394 which is enough to speed tie with a full EV'd Aerodactyl (a base 130 Spe monster) with a positive nature and/or 434 Spe if it has already megaevolved outspeeding Sharpedo and Zygarde (base 95 monsters) with a neutral nature on Spe + 252 EVs after a +1.

Mega Lopunny with full investment reaches only 405 Spe so you can lower the EVs accordingly.

P.S. Found there http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/creative-and-underrated-sets-oras-edition-no-shitty-gimmicks-read-post-419.3521768/page-8#post-5920371 that Celticpride already had this idea so it isn't that bad.

Banned deucer.
Yo brightpowder on mixed tar is low-key legit. It really isn't using its item anyway, so you may as well make it clutch. It isn't for relying on hax. Instead it is a nice luxury for times when you are, for example, staying in on a lando or dnite or whatever eq with the intent of taking lots of damage but getting off an ice beam. Sometimes, you end up taking 0 damage. It is really chill. The same applies in the event where u are sacking ttar. It is fun to have char-y miss a solarbeam and get 1hkod. Will o extra misses from mons are also nice.

This was kinda popular a few gens ago, I think

Stolen from Bludz
DD TPunch Mega TTar

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Superpower / Fire Punch / Ice Punch / Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Thunder Punch
Mostly to destroy Keldeo, which is one of its biggest counters (normally).
Otherwise, the set is pretty much the same as normal m-TTar sets
Tyranitarite is needed to mega evolve
Jolly and 252 Spe helps to outspeed Jolly bisharp and destroy it with superpower
DD is the only reason to use MegaTar over Reg TTar
The second moveslot can be whatever your team needs really
Superpower or Fire punch are usually better, as they destroys steels like Ferro, Tran and Scizor
Ice punch can be used for Lando and Chomp
Stone edge isn't the best move for this slot since it doesn't really hit much that Tpunch doesn't and it has low Accuracy, but it's still an option
Crunch is reliable STAB
TPunch hits Keldeo really hard

SubToxic Tyranitar
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Atk / 164 SpA
Brave Nature
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Fire Blast
- Crunch

SubToxic is a cool set for wearing down Pokemon that Tyranitar would not be able to break through normally, such as Keldeo, Hippowdown and (Mega) Slowbro. Fire Blast is chosen to hit Steels that are immune to Toxic, as well as Breloom and the 164 SpA EVs make it so that it has a 53% chance of 2HKOing Specially Defensive Skarm. Crunch is chosen over Stone Edge for STAB thanks to its higher accuracy and PP. It also hits both Empoleon and Heatran for decent damage, which both don't care about FB or Toxic. T-tar also produces 101 HP Subs with full HP investment, allowing it to take a Seismic Toss in Sub form.

Special Lure Tyranitar

Tyranitar @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Special Lure Tyranitar. This is legit cool. It backs a surprisingly good amount of power behind it. Dark Pulse allows it to hit things like Rotom-W harder than what they bargained for. Fire Blast snacks around Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Thunderbolt hits Flying types like Tflame and LO Tornadus and Keldeo. Ice Beam kills off most Grounds like Lando or Garchomp. Life Orb gives all around power while Expert Belt gives it the ability to "fake" items like a Berry or Scarf maybe.

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Counter
- Rock Slide
- Toxic / Ice Beam/ Flamethrower
- Thunder Wave

Based Lord Counter T-tar So I found out dat Tyranitar can learn Counter !. I decided to throw a chople berry on it to take focus miss, mega lopunny hjk, fighting moves etc. The EV spread allows T-tar to live Mega Lopunny HJK and Azumarills Superpower from Band giving a guranteed OHKO with Counter on them. Since Keldeo's Secret Sword counts as a special move I have thunder wave to paralyze it so that other mons can easily deal with it.Specs Hydro is a 25% KO without rocks which is pretty unreliable. Rock Slide is used over Stone Edge because of accuracy and Rock Slide does nearly the same amount as stone edge. Thunder wave is to cripple down fast mons. Toxic is used for mons like slowbro, Rotom-w, Hippowdon which r fat. Ice beam can also be used to vs gliscor pretty well. Flamethrower can also be used vs skarmory, ferrothorn, and scizor but counter takes care of scizor and ferro(to an extent). Js Counter T-tar is so aids and no1 uses it its unexpected and not even low ladder uses it.

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 356-420 (88.3 - 104.2%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
0 Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 278-330 (92.9 - 110.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
0 Atk Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 372-438 (124.4 - 146.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-T: 252-296 (84.2 - 98.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage
0 Atk Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-T: 336-396 (112.3 - 132.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Trick Room CurseTar
Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Curse
- Crunch/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide
- Earthquake/Superpower
Base 61 speed (as non-mega) plus access to Curse equals a Trick Room sweeper. Outside of TR it makes an excellent tank, with Curse's Def boosts complimenting the SpD boost in sand. Moves can be tailored to suit the team, with Thunder Punch not only luring Keldeo but straight up beating it if TR is up.
