The nothing special team (2200 ACRE) 18wins-0 losses

This is my first RMT and one of my most successful teams. I'm putting this one out there because I finally feel its ready. This team achieved 2100 Acre before the landorous ban as well, I made a new team at 2200 Acre Its not my best team as I dont want to put that out just yet...cant have people knowing my sets haha but this team is great. In my honest opinion though, going 18-0 with this team was pure luck

The biggest issue with this team is killing rapid spinners, which are so darn easy to deal with once I'm done explaining. Each pokemon has a clear role on this team. Enjoy.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 4 HP / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Softboiled
- Stealth Rock
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
Blissey has a simple role. Wall of special attackers which it does oh so well. Toxic them if possible afte putting up stealth rocks, then wear them down with seismic toss faster forcing them to switch into a physical option. I have chosen to keep stealth rocks on blissey because it's reliable with it. It also allows me to use roost on my next wall keeping it alive longer

Skarmory (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Impish Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind
My physical wall...with rocky helmet to make sure you regret hitting it as much as possible. Bravebird so I'm not taunt bait. Spikes for extra damage on pokemon that arent airbourne. Roost to keep me walling as long as possible and sturdy with whirlwind allows me to take out pokemon that set up.
Also when ever a dragon outrages into me....skarmory does atleast 33% damage to them by rocky helmet alone (2 outrage hits).
tumblr_mmgn7jcBvg1s70lv4o1_500.gif
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
Not only is gengar a sick sweeper after laying down rocks and spikes...its my rapid spin blocker. Let me expain. Scarf allows me to kill starmie that try rapid spin on me, so many think they can pull of a psychic first but usually die as a result. HP ice allows me to deal with dorphan (levitate helps too lol). Thunderbolt will kill blastoise, tentacruel and cloyster spinners among other things. Gengar is a great sweeper and spin blocker for my tea anyway. The HP ice has kill so many dragon dancing dragonites and salamence as well to keep me going.
tumblr_mdeu8hUW5Z1ri74ido1_500.gif
Scizor @ Iron Plate
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 176 HP / 80 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Bug Bite
No life orb. Anything that will die after swords dance and life orb bullet punches will also die with the aid of iron plate. Superpower still OHKOs the same pokemon like ferrothorn after swords dance without life orb. This allows my scizor to stay alive. Bug bit instead of u-turn because it lets me do more damage to pokemon that switch in on me if I predict it thanks to technician boosts....then I can switch to blissey to take a flamethrower or skarmory for a fire punch (if not stabbed) or garchomp.
tumblr_m63ay65CxI1r84emlo1_500.gif
Garchomp (M) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Substitute
If i get behind a sub and I'm faster than you....gg. Garchomp is good in taking out steel types that primarily resist my other sweepers. Keep in mind with stealth rocks and spikes up...it can run show.
Problems like latios are annoying if I dont get into a sub first. I usually switch to blissey to take draco meteor then back to scizor to take psyshock then a free swords dance haha. But if that salac berry gets activated and my swords dance is in, the only thing that could save most teams is a skarmory to wall me. Which brings me to.....
tumblr_mepu9dbzqz1qckwxco1_r1_500.gif
Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast
Rapid spinners: Starmie, tentacruel, blastoise, even dorphan = dead
Skarmory walls are usually scared away by this thing as well. With 145 base SpA....it hits everything hard to be honest. Volt switch is there to keep momentum going. Focus miss has a 70% chance of completing my coverage. This guy is unreal once I take out everything that resist that thunderbolt and if my hazards are up, its over because priority moves like Mach Punch and Bullet Punch are resisted so nicely. Volt switch also kills those starmie that think they're faster than me.

Overall this team is a mix of offense and stall. Blissey and skarmory set up hazard WHEN they wall certain pokemon (these arent suicide set up pokemon). Any rapid spinner would have a hard time staying alive against my team and if the survive getting a rapid spin up, blissey and skarmory can stay alive long enough to put those hazards up.
From there I have some excellence offensive sweepers ready to clean up and some good walls that allow me to switch easier.

Risk: the biggest issue with this team is that any team could easily set up rocks against me which sucks for switching around since two of my main sweepers are scarfed. You need to be careful to choose the right pokemon while they set up. For example lead with thundurus if you see a custap skarmory lead, volt switch to scizor and bullet punch it out ASAP.

Threatlist: Coming soon (also something on this team will cover a threat).

Importable:

I went on PS, made a new account called thenewkid24000 to mess around and just used this team real quick so you guys can see just how brutal this team can be. Got disconnected in my first game, this is game 2. I have no replays on my main account

Nice team, I like it but I see a few flaws.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 176 HP / 80 Spd
Adamant Nature
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
This set allows better coverage and can allow a quick sweep and can really help you make a decent damage deal against a majority of Pokemon.

A little ev suggestion, but I highly suggest you give your Blissey more defensive investment, currently it takes a ridiculous amount of damage from weak physical moves. At the very least run 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD Calm. This is the difference in damage:

Your current spread: 252+ Atk Choice Band Scizor Pursuit vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Blissey: 593-698 (83.05 - 97.75%)
My suggested spread: 252+ Atk Choice Band Scizor Pursuit vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Blissey: 284-335 (43.55 - 51.38%)

I am not good with rating this kind of team, but this change is obvious.

Yeah man. I see what you mean with the choice band. My reasoning was that I have so many pokemon already choiced that I didnt want to feel trapped. I bring scizor in when I know it can quickly bullet punch a pokemon out or I can set up swords dance. I dont want to get locked into bullet punch on a ferrothorn for example haha. But I'll try it out and post replays on how it went

Scarfwynaut thats actually a good suggestion haha. I always pictured my blissey as a special wall so I made it that way but what you have makes sense...especially wth those calcs

Just tried out that new blissey set up

I lead with blissey vs a smeargle. Get put to sleep, smeargle gets 2 quiver dances in, baton passes to an espeon. It takes rock damage from me waking up. I seismic toss it while it uses wish. It goes for a psyshock, I live with 2% health and kill the espeon. I think its safe to say thats a good set lol. I made another random account to do this because I was too lazy to type in my password for my main account or thenewdude2400 lol. That blissey set is officially changed

Replay of the scenario I just explained.
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-40663947

I could have switch to thundurus after blissey was put to sleep then volt switch back to blissey who would be awake again just to damage that smeargle but.....I wanted to test it lol

Blissey is best left as a special wall. And I if you don't want to fell trapped, try out a SubDisable Gengar.
Blissey with a physically defensive spread is still a special wall. This just allows it to be more of a mixed wall, taking things like Psyshock from Latios much better. Its a totally superior spread.

Anyways, NewestKid, very nice team you have here! I really like the idea of a Hyper Offensive team built around a SkarmBliss core, very cool. There are a couple of small suggestions I think could help your team though. First of all, on your Scizor, I would recommend running more speed EV's. At least run 108 speed to outrun specially defensive Heatran. However, I like running 252 speed with a Jolly nature but if you like having Adamant and a little more bulk its totally up to you.

Next, I can see Thundurus-T giving you trouble if it is given the chance to set up. After an Agility it can outspeed and OHKO your entire team bar Blissey, who is a guaranteed 3hko after SR damage. And if it gets a Nasty Plot as well Blissey is a guaranteed 2HKO. While your team doesn't give a ton of set up opportunities, it is possible, especially if your opponent predicts an electric type attack from your Thundurus-T. To help keep opposing Thundurus-T from setting up, and to help keep hazards off of your side of the field I would recommend running Taunt over ThunderBolt on your Gengar. ThunderBolt is not hitting many things too hard, besides Tentacruel, but Starmie and Jellicent for example are both taken care of better by Shadow Ball. You aren't really losing too much and I think stopping set up sweepers and Hazard Setters will be more valuable to your team overall.

Hopefully my suggestions helped! Great job and good luck with the team!

Hello, got the request.

And what a cute team this is! I feel like this team isn't geared to stall at all. I feel as though you use the hazards to make Garchomp / Scizor sweeps respectively. Overall, I just feel like Chansey is such dead weight to the team when there are other, better piviots out there. I can't really say this is balanced because only two of your Pokemon are bulky and everything else is pretty offensive.

Scarf Keldeo looks a bit annoying to play around -- while it's possible, nothing enjoys switching into it. Sun teams in general look overwhelming as you rely heavily on Chansey to wall the team, and Magma Storms from Heatran are hurting. Also, speaking of Scarf Keldeo -- rain teams look like they hurt in general, as once again you have tons of pressure on Chansey and it also kills your offensive momentum. Overall, this team is pretty solid, but I don't like the pressure that is put on Chansey at all.

So, I have a few changes to make your team a bit more offensive oriented while still abusing hazards.

1. Change your current Skarmory set to Custap Berry Skarm. The fast hazards are great and the taunt is resourceful. When starmie's come in you can utilize Custap Berry to BB kill yourself and then proceed to go straight into Gengar and blast it. The faster set up of hazards for this team is really amazing as everything is paying for switching right from turn 1, and currently you stop all possible spin attempts.

2. However, LO Analytical Starmie is a check to your team in the regards that switching into it in rain is really hard, as even chansey is having some issues and it hates having all that pressure on it since nothing else is tanking water hits in rain. What is more is that ThundyT is SR weak and the double Scarfer is really not necessary -- you already beat RS with Gengar alone. I'd try using a Specially Defensive Rotom-W in place of ThundyT -- not being SR weak will go far, being able to check rain better is great, and it overall synergizes with the team better. It makes Mamoswine much more manageable (since Skarm is hazard suicide; you could speed jump if you like but Superpower should only do about 54% and you play mindgames with Scizor anyway) and it ultimately pairs really well with Scizor. WoW Wash fits perfectly, burning those annoying Scizor / Garchomp / Ferrothorn that is just better burned in general.

3. As I said before, I feel like there is way too much pressure on Chansey and it robs you of momentum easily. I'd replace this with a Pokemon that makes dealing with sun easier -- like using LO Latias. It does most of what Chansey is already doing, but it's a bit more offensive and it's a good stop to Sun teams alongside the fabled Scizor and SubSD Garchomp. By using 112 Hp evs on Latias, you can always live +2 Sludge Bomb, LO recoil, SR, and OHKO back with Psyshock with around 35% to boot, so I recommend going for that. Being able to wall Keldeo is nice as well, so that is also a plus for using Latias.

4. I feel like SD Scizor and SubSD Garchomp overlap, so I'm going to agree with Naruto and recommend that, with my changes, that CB Scizor would be a fine addition to the team. Pursuit trapping the Lati twins is important and the BP attack on Venu is also vital that it be at it's fullest power as well. It also creates VoltTurning with Rotom-W and so this is an added bonus that gives your team all kinds of opp. to go straight into your Scarf Gengar for the surprise KOs.

5. Lastly, I feel like Thunderbolt is too weak on Gengar and you're better off with Thunder anyhow, seeing as Tentacruel will be on rain teams anyway. Lastly, replace HP Ice or Focus Blast (which ever coverage you don't need the most -- like Focus Blast) for Destiny Bond. Scarf Bonding is another free KO that is always nice to nab when playing with offense. Especially since Scarf Gengar is one of the fastest Pokemon in the metagame -- you're almost ensured to get that free KO as long as you run Destiny.

I hope this helps you. I just felt like this team wasn't really built to stall with only one stall core being utilized, that is was more like balanced, and that Chansey / Skarm were seriously hindering you. Good luck and cute team! c:
