[OVERVIEW]

Tirtouga's typing, abilities, and stats allow it to perform both offensive and defensive roles well in the Little Cup metagame. Its access to Shell Smash, two great abilities in Sturdy and Solid Rock, powerful STAB moves in Stone Edge and Waterfall, STAB priority in Aqua Jet, and good coverage options in Zen Headbutt and Earthquake can turn Tirtouga into a strong late-game sweeper, while its Rock / Water typing, great defensive ability Solid Rock, and high Defense stat also allows it to check many prominent threats in the metagame such as Doduo, Rufflet, Vullaby, Pawniard, and Ponyta. In addition, Tirtouga can also support its team with moves like Stealth Rock and Knock Off; however, Tirtouga's offensive sets struggle because of its very low Speed stat, meaning it can be revenge killed by faster Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo and Chinchou. It's also weak to common priority moves in Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave, making it even easier to revenge kill after lowering its defenses with Shell Smash. On the defensive side, Tirtouga lacks recovery, meaning it is prone to being worn down. It also has a big weakness to common Grass-types such as Snivy, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Cottonee.

Moves
========

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to incredible levels, allowing it to easily clean late-game. Waterfall is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a chance to flinch the foe. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types such as Mudbray and Ponyta super effectively, both of which are OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Aqua Jet is a fairly powerful STAB priority move and allows Tirtouga to take out weakened threats and faster Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo and Doduo, while also avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. Stone Edge is a STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, and it also deals significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a boost, and Cottonee, which is OHKOed after a boost. Stealth Rock can be used over Stone Edge, as Eviolite makes Tirtouga bulky enough to set up Stealth Rock and come back in later to sweep; however, the lack of Stone Edge leaves Tirtouga more easily walled by Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Vullaby. Zen Headbutt can be used to hit Fighting- and Poison-types super effectively, as it usually OHKOes bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock damage, and Timburr after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage, as long as Tirtouga has an Adamant nature. Earthquake is an option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

Thanks to Solid Rock, Tirtouga can set up on some Pokemon that hit it super effectively like Mienfoo and physical Croagunk variants, while also allowing it to take certain priority moves like Mach Punch better. The given defensive investment along with with Solid Rock and Eviolite maximizes Tirtouga's bulk while sacrificing negligible power, especially after a boost. In particular, it usually allows Tirtouga to avoid the 2HKO from Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. 180 Speed EVs give Tirtouga 11 Speed, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame after a Shell Smash. It also allows Tirtouga to outspeed 14 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Mudbray and Modest Magnemite, while Speed tying with 15 Speed Choice Scarf users like Timid Magnemite and Adamant Bunnelby after a boost. 132 Attack EVs significantly increase Tirtouga's Attack, making it deal as much damage as possible. A Jolly nature can be used to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users and Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users after a Shell Smash. An Adamant nature can be used to OHKO certain Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie after Stealth Rock damage and a Shell Smash boost with Zen Headbutt, but these OHKOs can also be secured if Tirtouga's team can use Knock Off to remove the Eviolites of the aforementioned Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Early-and mid-game, this Tirtouga set can be used to check Fire- and Flying-types, as its good bulk allows it to retain enough HP to attempt a late-game sweep. Still, you should focus on eventually setting up a Shell Smash. In addition to Fire- and Flying-types, this Tirtouga set can also set up on some traditional Tirtouga checks, such as Mienfoo and physical attacking Croagunk, thanks to Solid Rock. However, this is usually not recommended, as Tirtouga will still take significant damage from them, making it easier to be revenge killed by fast Choice Scarf users and priority users. Before setting up, opposing priority users such as Timburr and Pawniard should be removed, as they can easily stop Tirtouga's sweep. Despite Solid Rock, Tirtouga still has to be very careful of Grass-type moves.

Team Options
========

This Tirtouga set really appreciates Memento support, as it will not take much damage on the turn it sets up thanks to the offensive drops from Memento and its good bulk. Due to the lack of recovery on this set Memento support might keep it out of range of certain priority moves, such as Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. Cottonee is especially good as a Memento user, as it also has excellent defensive synergy with Tirtouga. Z-Memento also synergizes nicely with this Tirtouga, as it allows it to play much more freely early-game and makes it less susceptibleto being worn down, before being healed back up to full HP and attempting a sweep late-game. Diglett and Alolan Grimer can also provide Tirtouga with Memento support, though they don't synergize with Tirtouga as well. Aurora Veil support from Alolan Vulpix is appreciated for similar reasons to Memento support, though it persists even after an opponent switches out. Unfortunately the hail that Alolan Vulpix sets up can wear down Tirtouga somewhat. Drilbur is also a good partner for Tirtouga, as it can take on the Electric-types that threaten Tirtouga, set up Stealth Rock to help secure crucial KOs for Tirtouga, and remove entry hazards to improve Tirtouga's longevity. Flying-types such as Vullaby, Doduo, and Rufflet help Tirtouga by dealing with Grass- and Fighting-types. They can also carry coverage to hit Ferroseed, which completely walls Tirtouga. Another powerful Water-type such as Staryu or Corphish can synergize offensively with Tirtouga, as the two can weaken each other's checks, such as Ferroseed or Pumpkaboo-XL, allowing for a potential sweep by one of them. Staryu can also remove entry hazards for Tirtouga, increasing its longevity. Knock Off users work very well with this set, as they can remove Eviolites from defensive Pokemon, helping Tirtouga secure crucial KOs, especially on Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie. For this reason, Pawniard works well to lure in Fighting-types and use Knock Off to remove their item, while Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure in the aforementioned Poison-types. Fire-types such as Ponyta are also very useful, since they can check Grass-types for Tirtouga and have a much easier time breaking through Ferroseed than Flying-types do.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Stealth Rock whittles down foes over time and can break Sturdy, and thanks to Tirtouga's excellent bulk in combination with Solid Rock, Tirtouga can set it up reliably. Scald is used despite coming off of Tirtouga's weaker Special Attack because it can potentially cripple physical attackers that could threaten it, such as Mienfoo and Mudbray, with a burn. Aqua Jet can also be used, as the priority it provides can be useful in picking off weakened threats, though it is fairly weak. Stone Edge is Tirtouga's most powerful STAB move and heavily damages the Flying- and Fire-types it checks, such as Vullaby and Ponyta, 2HKOing both of them. Knock Off provides excellent utility in removing a foe's item, crippling defensive and offensive Pokemon alike.

Set Details
========

Thanks to Eviolite, Solid Rock, and the defensive investment, Tirtouga can take a multitude of powerful attacks; for example, Tirtouga can usually avoid the 3HKO from Vullaby's Dark Pulse and the 2HKO from Life Orb Doduo's Jump Kick. The remaining EVs are put into Special Attack to slightly raise Scald's damage. A Sassy nature is used in order to increase Tirtouga's Special Defense while not lowering the damage of any of its attacks. Tirtouga doesn't mind the Speed drop, since it is not very fast anyway.

Usage Tips
========

Since this set lacks recovery of any kind, always be wary of being worn down. As such, try to keep Tirtouga healthy in order to check the Pokemon it needs to, such as Doduo and Vullaby. If the opponent lacks a Pokemon that you need Tirtouga for, this set can focus on setting up Stealth Rock as much as possible. Against such an opponent, leading with Tirtouga in order to set up Stealth Rock as soon as possible is a good option. When using this set, it's possible to bluff a Shell Smash set and surprise a switch-in with Scald or Knock Off.

Team Options
========

Bulky Grass-types such as Foongus, Ferroseed, and Cottonee have excellent defensive synergy with Tirtouga, as they can switch into Grass-, and in Foongus's and Cottonee's case, Fighting-types for Tirtouga, while in return, Tirtouga can switch into the Fire- and Flying-types they fear. Ferroseed can also stack Spikes, which synergizes nicely with Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, while Cottonee can help bluff a Shell Smash set, as it often provides Memento support for such sets. Spritzee is a great partner, as it deals with the Fighting-types that Tirtouga fears and can also pass Wishes to increase Tirtouga's longevity. Flying- and Poison-types such as Vullaby, Croagunk, and Foongus can take on the Grass- and Fighting-types that threaten Tirtouga. In return, Tirtouga can deal with Rock-types for the Flying-types. Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur can remove entry hazards, which greatly increases Tirtouga's longevity, as it is very easily worn down. Defog users like Vullaby can also be used, but they also remove Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, so they are usually not recommended. Fire-types like Ponyta can be good teammates for Tirtouga as well, as they can check Grass- and Steel-types such as Cottonee and Pawniard.

Moves
========

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to monstrous levels, allowing it to easily clean late-game. Waterfall is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a nice chance to flinch. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types such as Mudbray and Ponyta super effectively, OHKOing both of them after a Shell Smash boost. Aqua Jet is a STAB priority move that can deal significant damage after a Shell Smash and allows Tirtouga to take out faster Choice Scarf users, such as Mienfoo and Doduo, after a bit of prior damage, in addition to avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. It can also be very useful to pick off weakened threats. Stone Edge is Tirtouga's secondary STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, while also dealing significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a Shell Smash, and Cottonee, which is usually OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Zen Headbutt hits Fighting- and Poison-types super effectively, usually OHKOing bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock damage, and Timburr after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage. Earthquake hits Pawniard, Chinchou, and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

The combination of Sturdy and Berry Juice guarantees Tirtouga a chance to set up a Shell Smash and sweep. The Speed EVs along with a Jolly nature allow Tirtouga to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Scraggy and Magnemite and Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Pawniard, after a Shell Smash. The Attack EVs maximize Tirtouga's Attack, allowing it to deal as much damage as possible. The remaining EVs are put into Defense to bolster its already impressive physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Tirtouga should mainly be used late-game to set up a Shell Smash and clean up a weakened team when its counters have been removed. Always try to remain at full HP in order to activate Sturdy, as it will give Tirtouga a much easier time setting up. This can be achieved by removing entry hazards and bringing Tirtouga in on free switches through use of a slow Volt Switch or U-turn. If Sturdy is intact and Tirtouga is still holding its Berry Juice, it can set up on anything that it can OHKO after a boost, such as Vullaby, Mudbray, and Chinchou, or on passive Pokemon, such as Bronzor and Spritzee. Usually, it will take one hit while setting up, which will make it consume its Berry Juice to heal it back up to full HP while gaining a Shell Smash boost. Since Tirtouga has a big weakness to Grass-type moves, it has to be wary of Grass-type coverage on Pokemon such as Abra and Ponyta if its Sturdy is broken. If Tirtouga has set up Shell Smash without losing its Sturdy or its Berry Juice, it can opt to go for a second Shell Smash, as this will usually secure the sweep, since Tirtouga will then outspeed even the fastest Choice Scarf users and be able to OHKO even some of the bulkiest Pokemon in the metagame, such as Foongus. Always make sure priority users such as Timburr and Pawniard are removed before setting up a Shell Smash, as they can relatively easily stop Tirtouga's sweep.

Team Options
========

Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur or Defog users such as Vullaby are mandatory in order to preserve Tirtouga's Sturdy. Drilbur can also help deal with Tirtouga's Electric-type weakness and set up Stealth Rock, which can help Tirtouga secure crucial KOs, while Vullaby can cripple defensive Pokemon by removing their Eviolite with Knock Off. Flying-types such as Doduo, Vullaby, and Rufflet and Fire-types such as Ponyta and Larvesta help break through bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed and Foongus for Tirtouga. Flying-types also help Tirtouga deal with Fighting-types. Knock Off users synergize very well with Tirtouga, as they can remove Eviolites, which gives Tirtouga an easier time cleaning late-game. In particular, Pawniard can lure in and use Knock Off on Timburr, removing its Eviolite and wearing it down, potentially putting it in Aqua Jet range for Tirtouga, while Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure in and remove Eviolites from Foongus, Cottonee, Mareanie, and Spritzee, allowing Tirtouga to beat them after a Shell Smash boost. Spikes support from Pokemon such as Ferroseed can be useful for Tirtouga, as after three layers of Spikes, Pumpkaboo-XL is OHKOed by Stone Edge after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage. Checks to Pawniard like Timburr and Mienfoo greatly aid Tirtouga, as Pawniard is a very big threat thanks to its access to Knock Off to remove Berry Juice and Sucker Punch to pick off a boosted Tirtouga. Pokemon that can deal with other common priority users like Timburr and Croagunk can be very useful—examples include Focus Sash Abra, Mudbray, and Foongus.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Rest can be used on the defensive set in order to give Tirtouga a form of recovery, but it will make Tirtouga lose out on important power or utility and is thus generally not worth using. Similarly, Berry Juice is an option over Eviolite on the defensive set, but the added bulk from Eviolite is usually more beneficial, as it avoids many important KOs because of that added bulk. Rock Slide can be used on the defensive set for more reliable damage, but it loses out on power and usually misses out on the chance to induce flinch anyway due to Tirtouga's low Speed. A special attacking Shell Smash set with Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, and Earth Power can be used, but it is outclassed by Omanyte due to its much higher Special Attack and higher Speed. Hidden Power Fire can be used on Shell Smash sets to significantly damage Ferroseed after a boost, but it misses the OHKO on it without significant investment in Special Attack, has limited use outside of hitting Ferroseed, and forces Tirtouga to forgo other coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Foongus, and Pumpkaboo-XL are able to take any of Tirtouga's moves even after a Shell Smash and can OHKO it back with a 4x super effective STAB move. Ferroseed completely walls Tirtouga, as it resists both of its STAB moves, and Tirtouga does not have a coverage move to hit it with.

**Fighting-types**: Timburr, Mienfoo, Pancham, and Croagunk all resist Tirtouga's Stone Edge and significantly threaten it with a super effective move. Timburr appreciates being burned by Scald from defensive Tirtouga thanks to Guts, Choice Scarf Mienfoo outspeeds Tirtouga even after a Shell Smash, Pancham can bypass Sturdy and Solid Rock with Mold Breaker, and Croagunk is immune to Tirtouga's Water-type moves. Timburr and Croagunk can also significantly threaten Tirtouga with their priority moves.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Faster Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, and Doduo all outspeed Tirtouga even after a Shell Smash and can often deal significant damage or even OHKO it due to the defense drops from Shell Smash.

**Entry Hazards**: Sturdy variants of Tirtouga do not appreciate entry hazards, as they break Sturdy and can ruin Tirtouga's chance to set up. Solid Rock Tirtouga usually lacks recovery, meaning the residual damage entry hazards deal can whittle it down quickly.

don't mention rest, just say it lacks recovery and that its defensive sets are consequently prone to being worn down

i think aqua jet should only ever be run over waterfall, as without zen headbutt or earthquake tirtouga is very easy to deal with even at +2

[moves]
mention what waterfall hits
remove the part with doduo and vullaby. doduo has bad defenses so it shouldn't be used as a benchmark calc. on the otherhand, vullaby is ohko'd at +2, so the 2hko at +0 is not relevant, just say it ohkos after a smash boost.
add that stone edge allows tirtouga to hit grasses for good damage
on zhb, again, 2hkos are not relevant. zen headbutt ohkos bulkyfoo, foongus, and mareanie after rocks a little over 50% of the time, and kills timburr after a tiny bit of prior damage.
for eq, all three of the mons you mentioned are OHKO'd after a smash
note that ajet's primary purpose is killing faster, slightly weakened scarf users. also, you can outspeed other forms of prio besides just sucker punch too, such as mach punch from timburr

[set details]
mention that you also speed tie 16 spe scarfers

[usage tips]
fine

[team options]
mention that staryu and drilbur spin away hazards, while vullaby uses defog. i would also put vullaby last in that list
choice scarf users aren't exactly going to be staying in on things that can paralyze them, so that section isn't really necessary.
memento support isnt necessary at all for sturdyjuice tirt, so remove this mention as well.
mention ferroseed first over foongus, since you only have to worry about foongus if you're not running zhb.
remove what support tirtouga gives to flying types, because berry juice tirtouga doesnt provide support during the match since you're preserving it till the end. it's not switching in to things
for the same reason remove the part about the support tirtouga provides to fire types
beef up the knock off support section, this is the most important part. pawniard knocks off fighters, wears down timburr and can put it in aqua jet range for tirtouga. fighters can knock off foongus, cottonee, mareanie, and spritzee, which helps tirtouga break past them.
spikes can be useful to help break past pumpkaboo

moved aqua jet to waterfall for the same reasons as above
i made jolly the primary nature and adamant the second because i believe 24 speed is much more important than the drop in power. your coverage becomes weaker and you can't OHKO fighters/poison types after rocks if they're holding eviolite, but it's easy enough to knock them off anyways so it doesn't matter much.

[moves]
implement the same things i said on the sturdyjuice set
stealth rock can be run on this set over stone edge for role compression. tirtouga is bulky enough to come in one turn, set up rocks, and then come in later and smash, but this does leave tirtouga more open to being walled by things like pumpkaboo and vullaby

[set details]
pumpkaboo-XL NEVER runs seed bomb. they almost all run giga drain now, and in the rare instance they're physical, they run bullet seed.
i would remove mentions of getting around traditional checks and save that for usage tips. just say that the EVs give eviolite numbers which maximize tirtouga's bulk
state what jolly does and what adamant do and the difference between them here

[usage tips]
tirtouga, while it can set up vs mienfoo and physical gunk, does NOT set up on timburr. a combination of drain punch + mach kills
this tirt doesnt exclusively need to be saved for late game, it can check some things early game and then still attempt to sweep later on due to its large bulk.
i would beef up this section some more, it's kinda short rn

[team options]
again, remove paralysis mentions
in addition to memento, mention z-memento. this allows tirtouga to be played much more liberally in checking things early on in the match and then be given a second shot at sweeping by having its hp restored to full.
mention staryu in the water spam section. not only can staryu help weaken tirtouga's checks/counters, but it also provides more reliable hazard removal than drilbur does.
add a knock off section like i recommended for the berry juice set, except stress the importance of knocking off fighters and poison types since this tirt needs those mons knocked off even more.

Overview
* I'd mention Titrouga's access to strong priority in STAB Aqua Jet alongside all of its pros mentioned in the second line.
* I'd also add somewhere that it has a fair amount of good coverage options, like Zen Headbutt and Earthquake.
* This is a bit of a nitpick, but be a little more specific about Tirt's stabs. What powerful STAB moves exactly does it have access to?
* Give some examples of the Choice Scarf users you say threaten Tirtouga.
* Tirtouga has a pretty glaring weakness to Grass-type attacks, especially given the presence of stuff like Snivy, Pumpkaboo-XL, Cottonee and Bellsprout. I feel like this is worth mentioning.

Set
Looks good

Moves
* How much damage do your Waterfall examples take from the move? Boosted Tirtouga calcs are probably best.
* Again, how hard are Pumpkaboo and Cotton hit by Stone Edge?
* Mention that Aqua Jet is also useful for picking off weakened threats.

Set Details
* Give examples of the 14/15 Speed Choice Scarf users it can outspeed after smash, as well as 16 Choice Scarf users it speed ties.

Usage Tips
Definitely think a little more can be added here
* Tirtouga's 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks means that it should be wary of Grass-type coverage from stuff like Ponyta and Abra if Sturdy's been broken.
* I'd add that if Tirtouga's boosted, but still has its Berry Juice and is at full health, it can opt to set up Shell Smash again.
* I think the removal of priority users like Timburr, Croagunk and Pawniard is worth mentioning, since it really makes things easier for Tirtouga.
* I'm sure there are some other types of mons Tirt can safely set up on, list some more examples and be a little more specific about mons that Tirt can OHKO (examples).

Team Options
* Vullaby doesn't usually carry Heat Wave if its running Defog. I'd say that Knock Off alongside Defog is both more realistic and helpful
* Priority makes it difficult for Tirtouga to sweep. Pokes that can deal with common priority users in Timburr, Pawn and Croagunk such as Sashbra, Mudbray and Foongus are all helpful for weakening or removing these threats.

Set: Solid Rock Smash
Set
Good

Moves
* What do both its STAB attacks OHKO/2HKO when boosted? Give some examples.
* Again, mention Aqua Jet can pick off weakened foes.

Set Details
* Again, all that's really needed here is examples of Choice Scarf users it outspeeds and speed ties after a boost.

Usage Tips
* Your wording in the first line makes it seem like Tirt can only use Solid Rock Smash early game, when in reality it works pretty well at any point throughout a match. Reword this section.
* Specify that its reason for being able to set up on its checks is Solid Rock.
* Give examples of types of mons Tirtouga is able to set Shell Smash up on (Fire-types without Grass coverage, other mons that can't damage it much).
* I'd add here that despite Solid Rock, Grass-type attacks are still a problem Tirt needs to look out for.

Team Options
* Give more examples of Memento mons. Of course, Cottonee is the best example given its great synergy, but that's what specific mentions are for. Mention Alolan Grimer and Diglett as other mons that can support it.
* Since it isn't Sturdy and doesn't mind Hail damage as much, I'd add Aurora Veil support from Alolapix here.
* Give examples of checks that water type partners can weaken for Tirtouga.
* I'd also add Fire-types. Ferroseed is far and away the biggest problem for Tirtouga, and Fire-types are easily the best answer to that problem. List examples as well.
* Grass-type checks are also worth mentioning, since Tirt's not as weak to grass but still takes really heavy damage from Grass-type attacks.

Set: Defensive
Set
Looks good

Moves
* Give examples of physical attackers Tirtouga can burn that would otherwise threaten it, like Mienfoo and Mudbray.
* Give examples of Flying and Fire types that Stone Edge hits. Calcs may not be as necessary given that its a defensive set, but I'd personally add them. This one's really up to you.

Set Details
* In all honesty, I think its just best to dedicate one line to all of your EVs, item and ability, considering they're all defensive. I'd say something like "Maximum Defense EVs, 156 Special Defense EVs, Eviolite, and Solid Rock all allow Tirtouga to tank special and physical hits alike, avoiding the 2HKO from Life Orb Doduo's Jump Kick... etc."

Usage Tips
* I'd add in your Stealth Rock line that if your opponent's team lacks Pokes Tirt can check, you can lead with it.

Team Options
* Elaborate a little more on why bulky Grass-types are helpful teammates (take care of Grass-types and appreciate Tirt's Flying-resistance).
* Again, answers to Grass-types and examples of said answers.

Other Options
* I think HP Fire on Smash deserves a mention. It can hit Ferroseed for good damage after a boost, but usually isn't preferred due to the loss of coverage and limited use outside of hitting Ferro.
* Mention that Tirtouga can combine roles to set up stealth rock and sweep with shell smash, the obvious drawback here being the loss of coverage.

Checks and Counters
* I'd add under Fighting-types that the priority carried by Timburr and Croagunk really threatens Tirtouga.

Nice job writing. Implement these changes and you'll have my 2/3.

[OVERVIEW]

Tirtouga's typing, abilities, and stats allow it to perform both offensive and defensive roles well in the Little Cup metagame. Its Access access to Shell Smash, two great abilities in Sturdy and Solid Rock, powerful STAB moves in Stone Edge and Waterfall, STAB priority in Aqua Jet, and good coverage options in Zen Headbutt and Earthquake can turn Tirtouga into a strong late game late-game sweeper, while its Rock / Water typing, great defensive ability Solid Rock, and a great Defense stat also allows it to check many prominent checks in the metagame, such as Doduo, Rufflet, Vullaby, Pawniard, and Ponyta. In addition, it can also support its team with moves like Stealth Rock and Knock Off. However, Tirtouga's offensive sets struggle with a because of its very low Speed stat, meaning it can be revenge killed by faster Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo and Chinchou. It's also weak to common priority moves in Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave, making it even easier to revenge kill. On the defensive side, Tirtouga lacks recovery, meaning it is prone to being worn down. It also has a big weakness to common Grass-types such as Snivy, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Cottonee

Moves
========

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to incredible levels, allowing it to easily clean in the late game late-game. Waterfall is used as it is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has potential a chance to flinch the foe. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types, such as Mudbray and Ponyta, super effectively, both of which are OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Aqua Jet is fairly powerful priority move after a Shell Smash and allows Tirtouga to take out weakened faster Choice Scarf users, such as Mienfoo and Doduo, while also avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other formes forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. It can also easily pick off weakened threats. Stone Edge is another STAB move, which hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, and deals significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a boost, and Cottonee, which is OHKOed after one Shell Smash. Stealth Rock can be used over Stone Edge, as this Tirtouga is bulky enough to set it up and come back in later to sweep. However, the lack of Stone Edge leaves Tirtouga more easily walled by Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Vullaby. Earthquake is another option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, (AC) and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

Thanks to Solid Rock, Tirtouga can even set up on some Pokemon that hit it super effectively, like Mienfoo and physically offensive physical attacking Croagunk, while also allowing it to take certain priority moves like Mach Punch better. The given defensive investment in combination with Solid Rock and Eviolite hits Eviolite numbers and thus maximzes maximizes Tirtouga's bulk while not sacrificing much offensive power (saying "offensive" here seems a little redundant). In particular, it usually allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. 180 Speed EVs give Tirtouga 11 Speed, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame after a Shell Smash. It also allows Tirtouga to outspeed 14 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Mudbray and Modest Magnemite, while speed Speed tying with 15 Speed Choice Scarf users like Timid Magnemite and Adamant Bunnelby after a boost (is this correct?). 132 Attack EVs with significantly increase Tirtouga's Attack, making it deal as much damage as possible. A Jolly nature can be used to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users and speed Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users after a Shell Smash. An Adamant nature can be used to OHKO certain Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, (AC) and Mareanie after Stealth Rock damage and a Shell Smash boost with Zen Headbutt, but these OHKOs can also be secured if Tirtouga's team can use Knock Off to remove the Eviolites of these Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

In the early early- and mid game mid-game, this set can be used to check Fire- and Flying-types, as its good bulk allows it to still retain enough HP to go for a late game late-game sweep. Still, you should focus on eventually setting up a Shell Smash. In addition to Fire- and Flying-types, this Tirtouga set can also set up on some traditional Tirtouga checks, such as Mienfoo and physically offensive physical attacking Croagunk, thanks to Solid Rock. However, this is usually not recommended, as Tirtouga will still take significant damage from them, making it easier to be revenge killed by fast Choice Scarf users and priority users. Be careful of being worn down. (you basically cover this below) Before setting up, opposing priority users such as Timburr and Pawniard should be removed, as they can easily stop Tirtouga's sweep. This set lacks any form of recovery, so it is prone to being whittled down. Despite Solid Rock, Tirtouga still has to be very careful of Grass-type moves.

Team Options
========

This Tirtouga set really appreciates Memento support, as it will not take much damage on the turn it sets up thanks to the offensive drops and its good bulk. Due to the lack of recovery on this set, this is very nice, as it might keep it out of range of certain priority moves, such as Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. Cottonee is especially good as a Memento user, as it also has excellent defensive synergy with Tirtouga. Z-Memento also synergises nicely with this Tirtouga, as it allows it to play much more freely in the early game and makes it less weak to being worn down, before being healed back up to full HP and attempt a sweep in the late game. Alolan Grimer and Diglett can also provide it with this support, though they don't synergise with Tirtouga as well. Aurora Veil support from Alolan Vulpix is appreciated for similar reasons to Memento support, though it persists even after an opponent switches out. However, the hail that Alolan Vulpix sets up can wear down Tirtouga somewhat. Drilbur is also a good partner for Tirtouga, as it can take on the Electric-types that threaten Tirtouga, set up Stealth Rock to help secure crucial KOes KOs for Tirtouga, and remove entry hazards to improve Tirtouga's longevity. Flying-types such as Vullaby, Doduo, (AC) and Rufflet help Tirtouga by dealing with Grass- and Fighting-types. They can also all carry coverage to hit Ferroseed, which completely walls Tirtouga. Another powerful Water-type such as Staryu or Corphish can synergise with Tirtouga, (AC) by weakening as the two can weaken each others other's checks, such as Ferroseed or Pumpkaboo-XL, allowing for a potential sweep of by one of them. Staryu can also remove entry hazards for Tirtouga, increasing its logevity longevity. Knock Off users work very well with this set, as they can remove Eviolites from defensive Pokemon, helping Tirtouga secure crucial KOes KOs on especially Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, (AC) and Mareanie. For this reason, Pawniard works well to lure in Fighting-types and use Knock Off to remove their item, while Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure in the mentioned aforementioned Poison-types. Fire-types such as Ponyta are also very useful, since they can check Grass-types for Tirtouga and have a much easier time breaking through Ferroseed than Flying-types do.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock whittles down opponents foes (opponent refers to the opposing player, not Pokemon) over time and can break Sturdy, and thanks to Tirtouga's excellent bulk in combination with Solid Rock, it can set it up reliably. Scald is used despite coming off of Tirtouga's weaker Special Attack, because it can potentially cripple physical attackers that could threaten it, such as Mienfoo or and Mudbray, with a burn. Aqua Jet can also be used, as the priority it provides can be useful in picking off weakened threats, though it is fairly weak. STAB Stone Edge is Tirtouga's most powerful move and heavily damages the Flying- and Fire-types it checks, such as Vullaby and Ponyta, 2HKOing both of them. Knock Off provides excellent utility in removing a foe's item, crippling defensive and offensive Pokemon alike.

Set Details
========

Thanks to Eviolite, Solid Rock, and the defensive investment, Tirtouga can take a multitude of powerful attack attacks. For example, it allows Tirtouga to usually avoid the 3HKO from Vullaby's Dark Pulse and the 2HKO from Life Orb Doduo's Jump Kick. The remaining EVs are put into Special Attack to slightly raise Scald's damage. A Sassy nature is used in order to increase Tirtouga's Special Defense while not lowering the damage of any of its offensive moves attacks (more concise). It doesn't mind the Speed drop, since it is not very fast anyway.

Usage Tips
========

Since this set lacks recovery of any kind, always be wary of being worn down. As such, try to keep Tirtouga healthy in order to check the Pokemon you need it to, such as Doduo or and Vullaby. If your opponent lacks a Pokemon that you need Tirtouga for, this set can focus on setting up Stealth Rock as much as possible. Against such an opponent, leading with Tirtouga in order to set up Stealth Rock as soon as possible is a good option. When using this set, it's possible to bluff a Shell Smash set and surprise a switchin switch-in with a Scald or Knock Off.

Team Options
========

Bulky Grass-types such as Foongus, Ferroseed, (AC) and Cottonee provide have excellent defensive synergy with Tirtouga, as they can switch into Grass- and, in Foongus' and Cottonee's case, Fighting-types for Tirtouga, while in return, Tirtouga can switch into the Fire- and Flying-types they fear. Ferroseed can also stack Spikes, which synergises nicely with Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, while Cottonee can help bluff a Shell Smash set, as it often provides Memento support for such sets. In return, Tirtouga can deal with Rock-types for and Flying-types (Is that right?). Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur can remove entry hazards, which greatly increases Tirtouga's longevity, as it is very easily worn down. Defog users like Vullaby can also be used, but they also remove Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, meaning that they are usually no not recommended. Fire-types like Ponyta can also be good teammates for Tirtouga, as they they can check Grass- and Steel-types, like Cottonee and Pawniard.

Moves
========

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to monstrous levels, allowing it to easily clean in the late game late-game. Waterfall is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a nice chance to flinch. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types, such as Mudbray and Ponyta super effectively, OHKOing both of them after a Shell Smash boost. Aqua Jet is a STAB priority move that can deal significant damage after a Shell Smash and allows Tirtouga to take out faster Choice Scarf users, such as Mienfoo and Doduo, after a bit of prior damage, in addition to avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other formes forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. It can also be very useful to pick off weakened threats. Stone Edge is Tirtouga's secondary STAB moves move, and hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, while also dealing significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a Shell Smash, and Cottonee, which is usually OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Zen Headbutt hits Fighting- and Poison-types super effectively, usually OHKOing bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, (AC) and Mareanie after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock damage, and Timburr after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage. Earthquake hits Pawniard, Chinchou, (AC) and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

The combination of Sturdy and Berry Juice all but guarantee Tirtouga a chance to set up a Shell Smash and sweep. The Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allows Tirtouga to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Scraggy and Magnemite, and speed Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Pawniard, after a Shell Smash. The Attack EVs maximize Tirtouga's Attack, allowing it to deal as much damage as possible. The remaining EVs are put into Defense to bolster its already impressive physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Tirtouga should mainly be used late game late-game to set up a Shell Smash and clean up a weakened team when its counters have been removed. Always try to remain at full HP in order to activate Sturdy, as it will give Tirtouga a much easier time setting up. This can be achieved by removing entry hazards and bringing Tirtouga in on free switches through use of a slow Volt Switch or U-turn VoltTurn. If Sturdy is intact and Tirtouga is still holding its Berry Juice, it can set up on anything it can OHKO after a boost, such as Vullaby, Mudbray, and Chinchou, or on passive Pokemon, such as Bronzor and Spritzee. Usually, it will take one hit while setting up, which will make it consume its Berry Juice to heal it back up to full HP while getting boosted gaining a Shell Smash boost.

========

Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur or Defog users such as Vullaby are mandatory in order to preserve Tirtouga's Strudy. Drilbur can also help deal with Tirtouga's Electric-type weakness and set up Stealth Rock, which can help Tirtouga secure crucial KOes KOs, while Vullaby can cripple defensive Pokemon by removing their Eviolite with Knock Off. Flying-types such as Doduo, Vullaby, (AC) and Rufflet and Fire-types such as Ponyta and Larvesta help break bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed and Foongus for Tirtouga. Flying-types also help Tirtouga deal with Fighting-types. Knock Off users synergise very well with Tirtouga, as they can remove Eviolites, giving Tirtouga an easier team time cleaning in the late game late-game. In particular, Pawniard can lure in and use Knock Off on Timburr, removing its Eviolite and wearing it down, potentially putting it in Aqua Jet range for Tirtouga, while Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure in and remove Eviolites from Foongus, Cottonee, Mareanie, and Spritzee, allowing Tirtouga to beat them after a Shell Smash. Spikes support from Pokemon such as Ferroseed can be useful for Tirtouga, as after a three layers of Spikes, Pumpkaboo-XL is OHKOed after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage. Checks to Pawniard like Timburr and Mienfoo greatly aid Tirtouga, as the Dark-type Dark-types is are a very big threat to it thanks to their access to Knock Off to remove Berry Juice and Sucker Punch to pick off a set up setup Tirtouga. Pokemon that can deal with other common priority users like Timburr and Croagunk can be very useful. Examples include Focus Sash Abra, Mudbray, and Foongus.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Rest can be used on the defensive set in order to give Tirtouga a form of recovery, but it will make Tirtouga lose out on important power or utility and is thus generally not worth using. Similarly, Berry Juice is an option over Eviolite on the defensive set, but the added bulk from Eviolite is usually more worth it, as it avoids many important KOes KOs because of that added bulk. Rock Slide can be used on the defensive set for more reliable damage, but it loses out on significant damage and usually misses out on the chance to induce flinch anyway due to its low Speed. A special attacking Shell Smash set with Hydro Pump / Ice Beam / Earth Power can be used, but it is outclassed (I think you should say mostly outclassed here. If it was outclassed then wouldn't it be unusable and not a good idea to mention here?) by Omanyte due to its much higher Special Attack and higher Speed. Hidden Power Fire can be used on Shell Smash sets to significantly damage Ferroseed after a boost, but it misses the OHKO on it without significant investment in Special Attack, has limited use outside of hitting Ferroseed, and it forces Tirtouga to miss out on other coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Foongus and Pumpkaboo-XL are able to take any of Tirtouga's moves even after a Shell Smash and OHKO back with a 4x super effective STAB move. Ferroseed especially completely walls Tirtouga, as it resists both of its STAB moves and Tirtouga does not have a coverage move to hit it with.

**Fighting-types**: Timburr, Mienfoo, Pancham, (AC) and Croagunk all resist Tirtouga's Stone Edge and significantly threaten it with a super effective move. Timburr also appreciates being burned by Scald from defensive Tirtouga thanks to Guts, Choice Scarf Mienfoo outspeeds even after a Shell Smash, Pancham can bypass Sturdy and Solid Rock with Mold Breaker, and Croagunk is immune to Tirtouga's Water-type moves. Timburr and Croagunk can also significantly threaten Tirtouga with their priority moves.

**Choice Scarf users**: Faster Choice Scarf users, such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, (AC) and Doduo all outspeed Tirtouga even after a Shell Smash and can often deal significant damage or even OHKO it due to the defense drops from Shell Smash.

**Entry hazards**: Sturdy variants of Tirtouga do not appreciate entry hazards, as they break Sturdy and can ruin Tirtouga's chance to set up. Solid Rock Tirtouga usually lacks recovery, meaning the residual damage entry hazards deal can whittle them it down quickly.

Earthquake is another option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, (AC) and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details

Usage Tips
========

========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to monstrous levels, allowing it to easily clean in the late game late-game. Waterfall is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a nice chance to flinch.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

=============

===================

Thanks for the amcheck. I implemented everything bar:

In return, Tirtouga can deal with Rock-types for and Flying-types (Is that right?)
This is a contiuation of the 'Flying-types synergise with Tirt'. Part of that is that that Tirt can help deal with Rock-types for them
but it is outclassed (I think you should say mostly outclassed here. If it was outclassed then wouldn't it be unusable and not a good idea to mention here?)
No. It is pretty much completely outclassed by Omanyte, but it's still viable on Tirtouga. As such, it's in other options and not an actual set

[OVERVIEW]

Tirtouga's typing, abilities, and stats allow it to perform both offensive and defensive roles well in the Little Cup metagame. Its access to Shell Smash, two great abilities in Sturdy and Solid Rock, powerful STAB moves in Stone Edge and Waterfall, STAB priority in Aqua Jet, and good coverage options in Zen Headbutt and Earthquake can turn Tirtouga into a strong late-game sweeper, while its Rock / Water typing, great defensive ability Solid Rock, and a great Defense stat also allows it to check many prominent checks threats in the metagame, such as Doduo, Rufflet, Vullaby, Pawniard, and Ponyta. In addition, it Tirtouga can also support its team with moves like Stealth Rock and Knock Off. However, Tirtouga's offensive sets struggle because of its very low Speed stat, meaning it can be revenge killed by faster Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo and Chinchou.

Stone Edge is Tirtouga's secondary STAB move,(RC) and that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, while also dealing significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a Shell Smash, and Cottonee, which is usually OHKOed after a Shell Smash.

The combination of Sturdy and Berry Juice all but guarantee Tirtouga a chance to set up a Shell Smash and sweep. The Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allows allow Tirtouga to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users,(RC) such as Scraggy and Magnemite,(RC) and Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Pawniard, after a Shell Smash. The Attack EVs maximize Tirtouga's Attack, allowing it to deal as much damage as possible. The remaining EVs are put into Defense to bolster its already impressive physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Tirtouga should mainly be used late-game to set up a Shell Smash and clean up a weakened team when its counters have been removed. Always try to remain at full HP in order to activate Sturdy, as it will give Tirtouga a much easier time setting up.

========

Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur or Defog users such as Vullaby are mandatory in order to preserve Tirtouga's Strudy. Drilbur can also help deal with Tirtouga's Electric-type weakness and set up Stealth Rock, which can help Tirtouga secure crucial KOs, while Vullaby can cripple defensive Pokemon by removing their Eviolite with Knock Off. Flying-types such as Doduo, Vullaby, and Rufflet and Fire-types such as Ponyta and Larvesta help break bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed and Foongus for Tirtouga. Flying-types also help Tirtouga deal with Fighting-types. Knock Off users synergise synergize very well with Tirtouga, as they can remove Eviolites, giving which gives Tirtouga an easier time cleaning in the late-game. Checks to Pawniard like Timburr and Mienfoo greatly aid Tirtouga, as it is a very big threat to it thanks to its access to Knock Off to remove Berry Juice and Sucker Punch to pick off a setup Tirtouga. Pokemon that can deal with other common priority users like Timburr and Croagunk can be very useful;(add semicolon) examples.(remove period) Examples include Focus Sash Abra, Mudbray, and Foongus.

Other Options
=============

Rest can be used on the defensive set in order to give Tirtouga a form of recovery, but it will make Tirtouga lose out on important power or utility and is thus generally not worth using. Similarly, Berry Juice is an option over Eviolite on the defensive set, but the added bulk from Eviolite is usually more worth it, as it avoids many important KOs because of that added bulk. Rock Slide can be used on the defensive set for more reliable damage, but it loses out on significant damage power and usually misses out on the chance to induce flinch anyway due to its Tirtouga's low Speed. A special attacking Shell Smash set with Hydro Pump / Ice Beam / Earth Power Hydro Pump,(AC) Ice Beam,(AC) and Earth Power can be used, but it is outclassed by Omanyte due to its much higher Special Attack and higher Speed.

===================
[add line break]
**Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Foongus,(AC) and Pumpkaboo-XL are able to take any of Tirtouga's moves even after a Shell Smash and can OHKO it back with a 4x super effective STAB move. Ferroseed especially completely walls Tirtouga, as it resists both of its STAB moves,(AC) and Tirtouga does not have a coverage move to hit it with.

**Fighting-types**: Timburr, Mienfoo, Pancham, and Croagunk all resist Tirtouga's Stone Edge and significantly threaten it with a super effective move. Timburr also appreciates being burned by Scald from defensive Tirtouga thanks to Guts, Choice Scarf Mienfoo outspeeds Tirtouga even after a Shell Smash, Pancham can bypass Sturdy and Solid Rock with Mold Breaker, and Croagunk is immune to Tirtouga's Water-type moves. Timburr and Croagunk can also significantly threaten Tirtouga with their priority moves.

**Choice Scarf users**: Faster Choice Scarf users,(RC) such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, and Doduo all outspeed Tirtouga even after a Shell Smash and can often deal significant damage or even OHKO it due to the defense drops from Shell Smash.

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to incredible levels, allowing it to easily clean in the late-game. Waterfall is used as it is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a chance to flinch the foe. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types,(RC) such as Mudbray and Ponyta,(RC) super effectively, both of which are OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Aqua Jet is a fairly powerful priority move after a Shell Smash and allows Tirtouga to take out weakened threats and faster Choice Scarf users, such as Mienfoo and Doduo, while also avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. It can also easily pick off weakened threats. (This was condensed above) Stone Edge is another STAB move,(RC) which that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, and it also deals significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a boost, and Cottonee, which is OHKOed after one Shell Smash. Stealth Rock can be used over Stone Edge, as this Tirtouga is bulky enough to set it up and come back in later to sweep;(add semiclolon) however.(remove period) However, the lack of Stone Edge leaves Tirtouga more easily walled by Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Vullaby. Earthquake is another option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, (AC) and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

Thanks to Solid Rock, Tirtouga can even set up on some Pokemon that hit it super effectively, like Mienfoo and physical attacking Croagunk, while also allowing it to take certain priority moves like Mach Punch better. The given defensive investment in combination with Solid Rock and Eviolite hits Eviolite numbers and thus maximizes Tirtouga's bulk while not sacrificing much power. In particular, it usually allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. 180 Speed EVs give Tirtouga 11 Speed, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame after a Shell Smash. It also allows Tirtouga to outspeed 14 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Mudbray and Modest Magnemite, while Speed tying with 15 Speed Choice Scarf users like Timid Magnemite and Adamant Bunnelby after a boost. An Adamant nature can be used to OHKO certain Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie after Stealth Rock damage and a Shell Smash boost with Zen Headbutt, but these OHKOs can also be secured if Tirtouga's team can use Knock Off to remove the Eviolites of these Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

In the early- Early-(AH) and mid-game, this Tirtouga set can be used to check Fire- and Flying-types, as its good bulk allows it to still retain enough HP to go for a late-game sweep. This set lacks any form of recovery, so it is prone to being whittled down. Despite Solid Rock, Tirtouga still has to be very careful of Grass-type moves.

Team Options
========

This Tirtouga set really appreciates Memento support, as it will not take much damage on the turn it sets up thanks to the offensive drops from Memento and its good bulk. Due to the lack of recovery on this set,(RC) this is very nice,(RC) as it Memento support might keep it out of range of certain priority moves, such as Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. Cottonee is especially good as a Memento user, as it also has excellent defensive synergy with Tirtouga. Z-Memento also synergises synergizes nicely with this Tirtouga, as it allows it to play much more freely in the early-(AH)game and makes it less weak to being worn down, before being healed back up to full HP and attempt a sweep in the late-(AH)game (Avoid saying "the early-game"; it's just "early-game". Same with mid-game and late-game). Alolan Grimer and Diglett can also provide it Tirtouga with this Memento support, though they don't synergise synergize with Tirtouga as well. Aurora Veil support from Alolan Vulpix is appreciated for similar reasons to Memento support, though it persists even after an opponent switches out. However, the hail that Alolan Vulpix sets up can wear down Tirtouga somewhat. They can also all carry coverage to hit Ferroseed, which completely walls Tirtouga. Another powerful Water-type such as Staryu or Corphish can synergise synergize with Tirtouga, as the two can weaken each other's checks, such as Ferroseed or Pumpkaboo-XL, allowing for a potential sweep by one of them. Staryu can also remove entry hazards for Tirtouga, increasing its longevity. Knock Off users work very well with this set, as they can remove Eviolites from defensive Pokemon, helping Tirtouga secure crucial KOs,(AC) especially on especially Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie.

Stealth Rock whittles down foes over time and can break Sturdy, and thanks to Tirtouga's excellent bulk in combination with Solid Rock, it can set it up reliably. Scald is used despite coming off of Tirtouga's weaker Special Attack,(RC) because it can potentially cripple physical attackers that could threaten it, such as Mienfoo and Mudbray, with a burn.

The remaining EVs are put into Special Attack to slightly raise Scald's damage. A Sassy nature is used in order to increase Tirtouga's Special Defense while not lowering the damage of any of its attacks. It doesn't mind the Speed drop, since it is not very fast anyway.

Usage Tips
========

Since this set lacks recovery of any kind, always be wary of being worn down. As such, try to keep Tirtouga healthy in order to check the Pokemon you need it needs to, such as Doduo and Vullaby. If your the opponent lacks a Pokemon that you need Tirtouga for, this set can focus on setting up Stealth Rock as much as possible. Against such an opponent, leading with Tirtouga in order to set up Stealth Rock as soon as possible is a good option. When using this set, it's possible to bluff a Shell Smash set and surprise a switch-in with a Scald or Knock Off.

Team Options

Ferroseed can also stack Spikes, which synergises synergizes nicely with Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, while Cottonee can help bluff a Shell Smash set, as it often provides Memento support for such sets. Defog users like Vullaby can also be used, but they also remove Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, meaning that they are usually not recommended. Thanks to Solid Rock, Tirtouga can set up on some Pokemon that hit it super effectively, like Mienfoo and physical attacking Croagunk, while also allowing it to take certain priority moves like Mach Punch better. The given defensive investment in combination with Solid Rock and Eviolite maximizes Tirtouga's bulk while not sacrificing much power. In particular, it usually allows it Tirtouga (You just used "it" before this so the the connotation hasn't changed.) to avoid the 2HKO from Croagunk's Vacuum Wave.

Usage Tips
========

Early-(AH) and mid-game, this Tirtouga set can be used to check Fire- and Flying-types, as its good bulk allows it to still retain enough HP to go for a late-game sweep. This set lacks any form of recovery, so it is prone to being whittled down. Despite Solid Rock, Tirtouga still has to be very careful of Grass-type moves.

Team Options
========

Z-Memento also synergizes nicely with this Tirtouga, as it allows it to play much more freely early-game and makes it less weak susceptible (A Pokemon can't be "weak" to being worn down.) to being worn down, before being healed back up to full HP and attempt a sweep late-game. Alolan Grimer and Diglett (This is another stylized thing. Ignoring Smogon writing/grammar standards, to a normal reader this may look like you mean Alolan Grimer and Alolan Diglett. Just reverse the two and there can't be any confusion.) can also provide Tirtouga with Memento support, though they don't synergize with Tirtouga as well. Aurora Veil support from Alolan Vulpix is appreciated for similar reasons to Memento support, though it persists even after an opponent switches out. However, the hail that Alolan Vulpix sets up can wear down Tirtouga somewhat. Another powerful Water-type such as Staryu or Corphish can synergize with Tirtouga, as the two can weaken each other's checks, such as Ferroseed or Pumpkaboo-XL, allowing for a potential sweep by one of them.

Stealth Rock whittles down foes over time and can break Sturdy, and thanks to Tirtouga's excellent bulk in combination with Solid Rock, it can set it up reliably.

Set Details
========

It doesn't mind the Speed drop, since it is not very fast anyway.

Usage Tips
========

Defog users like Vullaby can also be used, but they also remove Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, meaning that they are usually not recommended. Fire-types like Ponyta can also be good teammates for Tirtouga as well (Stylized thing, but you just used "also" in quick succession so change it up.), as they they can check Grass- and Steel-types like such as (Same thing as with "also".) Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to monstrous levels, allowing it to easily clean late-game. Stone Edge is Tirtouga's secondary STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even (Unnecessary.) without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, while also dealing significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a Shell Smash, and Cottonee, which is usually OHKOed after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

The combination of Sturdy and Berry Juice guarantee guarantees Tirtouga a chance to set up a Shell Smash and sweep. The Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Tirtouga to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Scraggy and Magnemite and Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Pawniard, after a Shell Smash. The Attack EVs maximize Tirtouga's Attack, allowing it to deal as much damage as possible. The remaining EVs are put into Defense to bolster its already impressive physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

========

Knock Off users synergize very well with Tirtouga, as they can remove Eviolites, which gives Tirtouga an easier time cleaning late-game. Spikes support from Pokemon such as Ferroseed can be useful for Tirtouga, as after three layers of Spikes, Pumpkaboo-XL is OHKOed after a Shell Smash and a bit of prior damage. Checks to Pawniard like Timburr and Mienfoo greatly aid Tirtouga, as it is a very big threat thanks to its access to Knock Off to remove Berry Juice and Sucker Punch to pick off a setup Tirtouga. Pokemon that can deal with other common priority users like Timburr and Croagunk can be very useful; examples include Focus Sash Abra, Mudbray, and Foongus.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Fire can be used on Shell Smash sets to significantly damage Ferroseed after a boost, but it misses the OHKO on it without significant investment in Special Attack, has limited use outside of hitting Ferroseed, and forces Tirtouga to miss out on other coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

Great writing.

OVERVIEW

Tirtouga's typing, abilities, and stats allow it to perform both offensive and defensive roles well in the Little Cup metagame. Its access to Shell Smash, two great abilities in Sturdy and Solid Rock, powerful STAB moves in Stone Edge and Waterfall, STAB priority in Aqua Jet, and good coverage options in Zen Headbutt and Earthquake can turn Tirtouga into a strong late-game sweeper, while its Rock / Water typing, great defensive ability Solid Rock, and great (This is a style thing, but you've used "great" three times in one sentence. I think "high" would be an acceptable replacement.) Defense stat also allows it to check many prominent threats in the metagame, (RC) such as Doduo, Rufflet, Vullaby, Pawniard, and Ponyta. It also has a big weakness to common Grass-types such as Snivy, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Cottonee.(AP)

Aqua Jet is a fairly powerful STAB priority move after a Shell Smash and allows Tirtouga to take out weakened threats and faster Choice Scarf users, (RC) such as Mienfoo and Doduo, while also avoiding Sucker Punch and outspeeding other forms of priority such as Timburr's Mach Punch after a Shell Smash. Stone Edge is another a (The way that this is written can imply that you are saying Waterfall and Aqua Jet also hit Flying-types super effectively.) STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, OHKOing Rufflet even without a boost and Vullaby after one Shell Smash, and it also deals significant damage to Grass-types such as Pumpkaboo-XL, which is 2HKOed after a boost, and Cottonee, which is OHKOed after a boost one Shell Smash. Stealth Rock can be used over Stone Edge, as Eviolite makes this Tirtouga is bulky enough to set it up Stealth Rock and come back in later to sweep; however, the lack of Stone Edge leaves Tirtouga more easily walled by Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Vullaby. Earthquake is another an (Similar reasoning as the previous point. This can imply that any of the previous moves also hit these Pokemon super effectively, which is not the case.) option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Thanks to Solid Rock, Tirtouga can set up on some Pokemon that hit it super effectively, (RC) like Mienfoo and physical attacking Croagunk variants, while also allowing it to take certain priority moves like Mach Punch better. The given defensive investment along with in combination with Solid Rock and Eviolite maximizes Tirtouga's bulk while not sacrificing negligible much power, (AC) especially after a boost. In particular, it usually allows it Tirtouga (You just used "it" before this so the the connotation hasn't changed.) to avoid the 2HKO from Croagunk's Vacuum Wave. 180 Speed EVs give Tirtouga 11 Speed, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame after a Shell Smash. A Jolly nature can be used to outspeed 14 and 15 Speed Choice Scarf users and Speed tie with 16 Speed Choice Scarf users after a Shell Smash. An Adamant nature can be used to OHKO certain Fighting- and Poison-types such as bulky Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie after Stealth Rock damage and a Shell Smash boost with Zen Headbutt, but these OHKOs can also be secured if Tirtouga's team can use Knock Off to remove the Eviolites of these aforementioned Pokemon.

Checks to Pawniard like Timburr and Mienfoo greatly aid Tirtouga, as Pawniard it is a very big threat thanks to its access to Knock Off to remove Berry Juice and Sucker Punch to pick off a boosted setup Tirtouga. Pokemon that can deal with other common priority users like Timburr and Croagunk can be very useful—examples include Focus Sash Abra, Mudbray, and Foongus.

Rest can be used on the defensive set in order to give Tirtouga a form of recovery, but it will make Tirtouga lose out on important power or utility and is thus generally not worth using. Similarly, Berry Juice is an option over Eviolite on the defensive set, but the added bulk from Eviolite is usually more beneficial worth it, as it avoids many important KOs because of that added bulk. Hidden Power Fire can be used on Shell Smash sets to significantly damage Ferroseed after a boost, but it misses the OHKO on it without significant investment in Special Attack, has limited use outside of hitting Ferroseed, and forces Tirtouga to forgo miss out on other coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

Echoing the above two checkers' sentiments, really excellent writing. I made very minor changes overall, and it was enjoyable to read. Great job.

It also has a big weakness to common Grass-types such as Snivy, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Cottonee.(AP)

Moves

Shell Smash boosts Tirtouga's offensive stats to incredible levels, allowing it to easily clean late-game. Waterfall is Tirtouga's most reliable STAB move and has a chance to flinch the foe. It also hits Ground- and Fire-types such as Mudbray and Ponyta super effectively, both of which are OHKOed after a Shell Smash. Earthquake is another an (Similar reasoning as the previous point. This can imply that any of the previous moves also hit these Pokemon super effectively, which is not the case.) option to hit Pawniard, Chinchou, and Mareanie super effectively, OHKOing all of them after a Shell Smash.

Set Details
========

It also allows Tirtouga to outspeed 14 Speed Choice Scarf users, (RC) such as Mudbray and Modest Magnemite, while Speed tying with 15 Speed Choice Scarf users like Timid Magnemite and Adamant Bunnelby after a boost.

Usage Tips
========

Early-(AH) and mid-game, this Tirtouga set can be used to check Fire- and Flying-types, as its good bulk allows it to still retain enough HP to attempt go for a late-game sweep. This set lacks any form of recovery, so it is prone to being whittled down. (Unnecessary since we already know Tirtouga doesn't have access to recovery) Despite Solid Rock, Tirtouga still has to be very careful of Grass-type moves.

Team Options
========

Z-Memento also synergizes nicely with this Tirtouga, as it allows it to play much more freely early-game and makes it less weak susceptible (A Pokemon can't be "weak" to being worn down.) to being worn down, before being healed back up to full HP and attempting a sweep late-game. Unfortunately However, (try not to start sentences with "However", although it isn't technically incorrect, we frown upon the usage of however in this manner, P Squared especially hates it lol) the hail that Alolan Vulpix sets up can wear down Tirtouga somewhat.

Stealth Rock whittles down foes over time and can break Sturdy, and thanks to Tirtouga's excellent bulk in combination with Solid Rock, Tirtouga it can set it up reliably. STAB Stone Edge is Tirtouga's most powerful STAB move and heavily damages the Flying- and Fire-types it checks, such as Vullaby and Ponyta, 2HKOing both of them. Knock Off provides excellent utility in removing a foe's item, crippling defensive and offensive Pokemon alike.

Set Details
========

Tirtouga It doesn't mind the Speed drop, since it is not very fast anyway.

Usage Tips
========

========

Defog users like Vullaby can also be used, but they also remove Tirtouga's Stealth Rock, so meaning that they are usually not recommended. Fire-types like Ponyta can also be good teammates for Tirtouga as well (Stylized thing, but you just used "also" in quick succession so change it up.), as they they can check Grass- and Steel-types like such as (Same thing as with "also".) Cottonee and Pawniard.

The combination of Sturdy and Berry Juice guarantee guarantees Tirtouga a chance to set up a Shell Smash and sweep.

Usage Tips
========
