Just a pre-round note, I couldn't find anything that states what to do in the event of the competing Pokemon having identical speed, so I flipped a coin to determine the order in which the Pokemon will move for the duration of the battle. Zeruda's Fennekin was heads and UllarWarlord's Rufflet was tails.

Round One:
Nuggs used his wings to create small gusts of wind which influenced the slight breeze that blew through the arena. The wind slowly changed direction to speed up the attacking speed of Nuggs, even if it had no effect on Magic Star.

Fennekin summoned a bright red energy ball in his mouth. The energy level slowly raised until it was painful for Magic Star to contain and a beam, as red as the top of a Pokeball shot into the sky. The few clouds that were gathered dissipated and the sun shone brightly, raising the temperature of the arena and the power of fire type attacks.

The hot weather didn't affect Nuggs as he worked at double speed to create a small mimicry of itself out of the hard dirt. The movements of Nuggs were faster than what Magic Star could follow. Finally, when the substitute was lifelike enough to satisfy Nuggs, he imbued it with energy which it sacrificed from its health to give life to the substitute. The fake Rufflet jumped around for Magic Star to see and attack.

Magic Star conjured flames from its stomach and spewed them out in a huge beam towards Nuggs. The fire flew through the air, gaining heat from the intense sunlight and directly hit the substitute Rufflet. Nuggs was not injured by the attack.

Nuggs used it's bird senses rather than it's vision to determine Magic Star's movements. It popped out from behind the damaged copy of itself and flew into the air. The bird swooped at a blinding speed and struck Magic Star with it's beak.

Magic Star spat flames from its mouth in a pattern around Nuggs and his substitute. The flames burned through the Substitute, which crumbled to dust. Magic Star's attack also dealt damage to Nuggs, though Nuggs was able to resist the flames' chance of burning him.

thanks for clearing up the speed issue I had.

Heat Wave dealt 19 damage, whereas the substitute only had 6 HP left, if the other 13 points of damage don't go throuh, where do they go?

Magic Star surrounded himself in flames to burn Nuggs' feet. When the heat broke through Nuggs' senses, he dropped the Pokemon, but it was too late. The damage had been done.

Round Three
Nuggs flew high into the sky, predicting Magic Star's movements. When he pinpointed the small fox, he swooped vertically down and attacked the Pokemon with his beak.

Magic Star shot a beam of mental energy at Nuggs, which was so strong it was visible to the naked eye. The beam shifted and distorted the background until it flew into Nuggs' body.

Nuggs anticipated Magic Star's attack...

Magic Star blasted Nuggs with a human shaped star of flames. From the fox's view, the attack hit square on, but Nuggs was able to avoid the attack completely, proloning the battle a little longer.

Magic Star spewed flames at Nuggs in his last attempt to finish the battle this round. The flames spiralled towards the bird and knocked it down. Magic Star started to feel the butterflies of victory in his stomach when Nuggs struggled back up to his feet. The battle was not yet over.
