Hi guys! Today this will be an XY OU RMT. As you may have noticed, this team is based around the usage of the best move besides swagger ever, Metronome! Well enough said, I will get into the RMT now.
Teambuilding Process and Background:
After Swagger was banned, I needed a new move to base my teams around, so I turned to Metronome. The first thing I did was do some research on who could learn Metronome. From there, I found the most viable Pokemon who could learn this awesome move...
My first version of this team was just Scarf+Metronome, but I found that it would be better to make my team more bulky in general, and accordingly I made changes and this leads to the version of this team today. Without further ado...here is the team:
THE TEAM:
Mew @ Starf Berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Metronome
- Baton Pass
- Roost
- Defog
Mew is my defogger in case the opponent tries to spam hazards while I metronome, however I am reconsidering it as Mew can spin like a boss too. Roost is for the helpful recovery, and Baton pass is to pass the Starf Berry(activates at 25% HP and boosts a random stat by +2) and those Tail Glows and Shell Smashes to a partner, usually Clefable or Togekiss, giving them a chance to sweep. A Sassy nature and SDef spread was chosen for maximum bulk, allowing Mew to tank things like those Hyper Beams.
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Metronome
- Wish
- Ancient Power
- Baton Pass
My first main baton pass receiver. Togekiss's Serene Grace allows for doubled special effect chances, which allows for 100% Sacred Fire burns, 20% Ancient Power boosting, and 80% Seed Flare stat drops. Wish is for recovery, although I am considering Roost here for instant recovery. Finally, Baton Pass can pass the ever-helpful Swords Dance and Agility to my other Metronome sweeper, Clefable, or in a desperate situation, Mew or Jirachi.
Clefable @ Leppa Berry
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Metronome
- Cosmic Power
- Rest
- Lucky Chant
Clefable is the most important member of the team. With Unaware, Clefable wrecks all setup sweepers and attempts at boosting alongside my Metronomes. Cosmic Power makes Clefable nearly impossible to break without a crit, but that is what Lucky Chant is in the next moveslot for. Finally, Metronome is to deal massive damage back to my opponents, possibly with boosts, as they try feebly to break through the wall. When they get me down to low health, I rest it off and they ragequit...
However Clefable is very weak to moves like Lunar Dance, Final Gambit, Healing Wish, Memento, etc, so take care when using him.
Dusclops @ Eviolite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Metronome
My second wall. Although he is more bulky than Clefable before Cosmic Powers, he is much worse against setup sweepers. This is why I generally use him against more dangerous threats that hit hard and fast like Talonflame. RestTalk is decent recovery and status protection, while WoW burns dangerous physical attackers like Mega Pinsir. Metronome doesn't hit as hard on Dusclops, but it is still a must, for example, look at these calcs:
0 Atk Dusclops Stone Edge vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 288-340 (96.6 - 114%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
AND THATS NOT EVEN WITH STEALTH ROCK
0 SpA Dusclops Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Blade: 180-214 (55.5 - 66%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Yeah I used Aegislash-Blade in this calc because he outspeeds Dusclops...in contrast Shadow Sneak does a mere 28% at most!
+6 0 SpA Dusclops Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-W: 340-400 (111.8 - 131.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
With just 2 Tail Glows under its belt, Dusclops OHKO's Rotom-W!!!
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Metronome
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
My cleric and special wall. Being able to pass massive wishes is always nice, and removing status is cool too. Metronome is also nice(once I got Final Gambit lol) and Protect makes Wish more reliable on Chansey. Once again, in case you think Chansey is no good, let me show you the power of Special Chansey!!
0 SpA Chansey Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Scizor in Sun: 348-412 (101.1 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
After a Sunny Day, guaranteed OHKO. 'Nuff said.
0 SpA Chansey Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Quagsire on a critical hit: 360-424 (91.3 - 107.6%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
Chansey can even beat the best stall mon with his powerful Leaf Storms!
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Atk
Sassy Nature
- Metronome
- Stealth Rock
- Wish
- Protect
Jirachi is my Stealth Rock user to make life annoying for Pokes like Talonflame and Zard. He can also pass decent wishes, while abusing Metronome to its fullest with those base 100 mixed attacking stats. I usually lead with him because it is crucial to get Stealth Rock up as early as possible to guarantee that when Zard Y switches in Dusclops can Metronome for the Zap Cannon Crit 100% OHKO after SR.
So there is my team!
Now for my threatlist:
All OU mons threaten this team in one way or another, but they can all be countered with the appropriate move...
Mega Pinsir and Talonflame sweep my team without Stone Edge.
Bisharp can come in on Defog and then sweep my team without a handy Drain Punch.
Aegislash sweeps unless I get those handy Eruptions.
Garchomp destroys everyone but Togekiss, who can counter with a Blizzard.
Scizor loses to Fire Blasts and can't tank Fire Punches either.
Heatran is taken care of by Earthquake, although TormentTran is somewhat hard to beat.
Azumarill loses to Zap Cannon unless it is Assault Vest...
Lati@s can't tank an Outrage, unless its from Chansey.
Mega-Mawile is easily Earthquaked.
Breloom can switch in on my Spores, but it loses to a well-timed Brave Bird.
Healing Wish, Lunar Dance, Final Gambit, Memento, Self-Destruct, Explosion, etc are all moves I like to avoid.
Well there is my threatlist.
And now for the replays...

You'd be surprised at how many people ragequit early on...but my good predictions saved me in games where they didn't. I will also give credit to Pikachu42(Xerneas79) for helping with the sets.
