[XY OU] Two Swords

Hey there and welcome to my second RMT here, I hope it will be better than the former ^^.
I startet to feel uncomfortable with almost every team after a few battlles lastly, wich lead me in hours of teambuilding to find a team wich could fit me (I thank to allmost all of my teachers for beeing on Class trip this week xD). There has been at least one Team i didnt just threw away after looking at it two times. Please dont mind my terrible english xD

Onto the Team!!!

I wanted to build an offensive team featuring the awesome Cobalion. So I put an nice FWG together wich can deal with offensive and defensive teams. Bisharp is staple on offensive teams and works very well even without his orange friend. Latios comes up with offensive Defog, while Cobalion is an awesome check to DeoSharp.

In depth!!

Suzaku (Cobalion) @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 244 HP / 152 Atk / 112 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Volt Switch

Cobalion is the MVP of this team and serves as DeoSharp check/Offensive Pivot/ Rocks setter. The Split allows it to outspeed opposing DeoD and Taunt them for an total shutdown. Also it has an Odd HP number to get maximal Leftovers recovery. The rest is used to push its Atk. Volt Switch keeps my momentum and Close Combat is as nice STAB. Stealth Rocks is just nice to use because who dislikes free damage?

Gino (Keldeo) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Scald
Keldeo is the second sword here and totally shuts down Defensive Teams. The Split is straight ahead: Max damage and max speed. Hydro Pump is a special and Secret Sword a physical hard hitting STAB. HP Flying Nails switching Venusaur while Scald is used for 30% Burn on switching physical opponents and Safe damage without miss chance the burn also helps. This buddy is THE Wallbreaker I absolutely love it ^^.

Captain+Talonflame_e2ffee_4670959.png

Talonflame (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp
The Captain is capable of revenge-killig almost every offensive threat wich could screw me over, yes Pinsir im talking to you... Brave Bird and Flare Blitz hit Super hard with an equipped CB. U-turn Gives me nice Momentum, while WoW leaves a Present to Powerhouses like TTar or switching Azumarill. Tailwind could be used over WoW but I feel more comfortable like this.

Breloom (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb
The kick ass shroom is very nice as a full stop to boosted opponents. It is able to spore an dangerous enemy and Rock Tomb everything on switch in to slower the opponent and hit it with its destructive attacks. With the focus sash loom is able to survivave every attack and Spore/Rock Tomb back to bypass the enemy. It usually takes 1+ opponents down before dying.

bisharp_by_hukuzo-d48zcb9.png

Bisharp (Bisharp) (F) @ Black Glasses
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
Bisharp Blocks opposing Defoggers and is a nice physical attacker. Knock off is the strongest STAB Bisharp has to offer and is often spammed. Iron Head is the secondary STAB and hits Fairys like Clefable very hard. Sucker Punch gives nice Priority for an Endgame sweep, while Pursuit traps Lati@s and friends.Ofc Swords dance is an option >Pursuit but again, I like Pursuit more because it usually gets a boost with Defiant.

Latios_The_Derp_by_miscoded.jpg

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf/Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Defog
Latios acts as an offensive defogger wich Checks opposing Keldeo wich would otherwise 2hit everything i got^^. I use Surf> Earthquake/Roost Because it gives me more offensive power and allows hitting Steel Types. Earthquake could hit Tyrannitar harder but i havent seen much of them lately. Draco meteor and Psyshock serve as mixxed STABs ans hit extra hard with Life Orb and full offensive Investment.

Hey there DebrisC!

Cool Hyper Offensive team and interesting use of Cobalion. Definitely can surprise a lot of people, you really don't see Cobalion that much in OU these days, but regardless if its one of your favorite pokemon and you consider it to be the MVP of your team, it must work fairly well. Here are the links to the resources I used to evaluate your team:

Team Magma Team Typing Synergy Analysis
Sweepercalc BMT Analysisw
Sweepercalc WMT Analysis

First of all, on the first link, not too much to say that's not already clear there. You have three pokemon weak to fairy, but most fairies in this metagame right now are mostly defensive except for Mega Gardevoir, Azumarill and Mega Mawille, but Mega Garde and Mega Mawille aren't all that common due to the prevalence of the incredible growing rate of Charizard-X. Sadly your only Fairy counter is Bisharp which takes neutral damage against fairy, but you've got to make sure you take care of them swiftly so HUGE threats like Mega Maw don't set up and sweep. You also have 4 or more pokemon that resist Dark Grass and Steel, so whenever you see any of those don't worry, you're definitely covered.

Now on to the second link. Yeah, scary. Now, these are your teams defensive threats, if you can outspeed and kill them, they're done, nothing they can do. However, you NEED to outspeed these threats, if you can't due to your fastest pokemon already being gone, then you're just done. If you EVER see the pokemon in the top ten of this list, be sure to have your fast pokemon that can take them out on reserve. Your best option for taking care of these is to somewhat "sack" your Breloom by using its sash to its advantage by having a threatening opposing pokemon take you to your sash then sporing it. Having a good sash user like Breloom is a fantastic thing for a defensively weak team like yours. Basically just make sure you are aware of the threats and prepare appropriately.

Alright, now I'm done talking about defensive threats with your team, lets finally talk offense with your hyper offensive team. Some of these pokemon if not dealt with correctly will stall your team, afflict them with a status effect, and stall until you finally finish your slow escape to death. Dark right? Yes. Very. You dont have any magic bounce or magic guard user on your team, so you're going to have to either pull out a pokemon immune to a status (like pulling out Talonflame when you expect a burn) OR you can just go full offensive and knock them out as soon as you possibly can, but that's a bit easier said then done. You're kind of in an odd spot with your team because your team doesn't have any set up sweepers, but you can I guess make up for this by using your broad coverage to your advantage. Lastly, as you can see, Latios is one hell of a wall breaker for your team. Try to reserve that as long as you can if you see some major threats on the opposing team.

Now let's hop into some nit-picky minor changes for a few of your pokemon. Keldeo could definitely benefit from Icy Wind instead of Scald or Hydro Pump. I suggest replacing Hydro, but it really just comes down to the debate that has lasted for eons. What do you want more, power or accuracy? Breloom could also benefit more from a Jolly nature so it can outspeed more significant threats such as pokemon without a beneficial speed nature like Mega TTar, Bisharp AND Mega Scizor. Talonflame and Cobalion look good. Personally, I think that Swords Dance would work better on Bisharp, but if you prefer Pursuit and you say it works well that's fine. Also, you have 3 dark moves, you could definitely use the item Black Glasses more than Life Orb. You'll have hardly any noticeable power reduction from your Dark moves, but sadly you will see less power on Iron Head, but its worth it for the removal of the serious loss of HP you go through. Latios also looks fantastic.

In conclusion, great Hyper Offensive team! You've got some great coverage, decent synergy and a pretty good team as a whole. Very nice work. If you've got any questions regarding my rate, my sources, or anything I've talked about just reply and Ill try to get back to you as soon as I can. I had a lot of fun writing this up and learned quite a lot about Cobalion along the way, thanks for letting me rate your team!

Hi.

For Coballion, I'd totally just get rid of it and add Deoxys-S (Or Deoxys-D, if it doesn't get banned) as they both have access to Taunt + Stealth Rock combination and have Superpower to get rid of the same things as Close Combat (Bisharp / Excadrill). Terrakion a little more offensively Deoxys-S and Deoxys-D, but doesn't have access to the wider movepool of Spikes / Magic Coat that the deos do, as well as the very common Aqua Jet / Bullet Punch / Mach Punch priority that is seen very commonly making it a bit inferior.

Breloom does sort of like Rock Tomb to hit Charizard and Talonflame on the switch as well as it lowering Speed, but I encourage you to look into using Swords Dance instead as it gives a good +2 boost to Attack as well as sweeping capabilites, but considering Breloom has bad STAB coverage, Rock Tomb is still a viable option

I wouldn't advise you to use a Life Orb on Bisharp as you do pack 3 Dark-type moves which makes Blackglasses a viable option to keep Bisharp's longevity up. Using an Assault Vest is also a good idea to take special hits from Pokemon such as Latios on the switch a lot better an reliably pursuit trap it especially when it uses Defog, and a spread of 64 HP / 252 Atk / 192 SpD would be appropriate to use to add to some bulk.

Lastly, Surf isn't exactly amazing on Latios, as I'd recommend Thunderbolt over it to hit Togekiss and Azumarill. Surf doesn't even hit notable anything other than Landorus.

Hope I helped.

Thank you for the rates, I will change the LO to Black Glasses on Bisharp. The Assault Vest could fit it too but i like the offensive Bisharp more. Im sorry but I wont replace Cobalion its just the reason this Team was build ^-^. I will test Thunderbolt>Surf on Latios.

Uberlox I have to thank not you ^-^.
