Welcome to the Survivor room, a room for socializing, games, and scandal! The room is, as the name implies, about a game with a bunch of variations that all involve surviving. With a ton of variety, there is a game to fit everyone. Getting involved with the room is as easy as typing /me in! Going back on the /me in remark, it really is just that easy. In order to get actively involved, you join games by using the above statement to signal to the host that you are interested in participating. Afterwards, the host will add you to a player list to keep track of participants. For a lot of game types, this is the majority of the work you'll be doing! The work typically falls to the host, as they are the one using the !roll command. Today, we'll be going over some of our various game types, how to get actively involved in playing or hosting them, and a bit of the mentality behind them to help you find out which game types are suited the best to you. Getting into a game is typically pretty easy. There's not a cap on players, usually, and hosts are pretty lenient with that anyways. The more the merrier! Our room has a highlight word that is able to be added through a button in the room intro. By pressing the button, you are able to add 'survgame' to your highlight list, so once a host says "survgame," it's your signal to join. Don't say it when you're not hosting, however, as it will highlight everybody in the room. Also, the host may not put a theme to begin with, so you can always ask for a certain theme that happens to be your favorite. Anyways, let's get into some various and popular game types.
Classic Survivor is fairly simple in execution. Players sign up as usual, but before the attacks, they are given a few minutes (depending on the host) to form an alliance with other users. However, both users must PM the host with their alliance. If one user does not PM the alliance, then the other person is betrayed. For example, if you were to PM Private_PenQuin to have an alliance, also PM Zeonth to ask for an alliance, and then PMed the host only your alliance with Private_PenQuin, you would not ally with Zeonth and would betray him! This is a key factor to Classic Survivor, and you must try to play this game with people to garner success. After all of these alliances are made, the host will initiate the attack phase. Once all attacks are sent in, rolls begin. How alliance rolls work is actually quite easy; a simple !roll 2d100 is all that's needed! For example, a host could use this command and come out with rolls of 64 and 18. 64, being the higher roll, is used against the opponent. These two do not combine. It's as easy as that! This process rinses and repeats until a winner is crowned.
Risk is a bit of an uncommon theme that, while being very loved in the community, does take a lot of work to host. Each player starts off with 100 soldiers. After this, a country is chosen that you will be representing. For the first three rounds, you are able to gain soldiers by defeating NPC armies. You can be safe and attack smaller armies to earn a smaller amount of soldiers, or you can attack larger enemies for a higher reward. If you lose a battle in the first three rounds, you will not die; however, you will lose any soldiers you've gained so far, meaning your soldier count renews at 100. In the fourth round, you're able to dice battle your fellow survivors and the armies that they have built up. This is where it gets interesting, as you can either be incredibly well stacked... or you may fall short. That's where the name comes from, as this is a very risky game that can result in you either crushing the competition or being stomped on yourself!
Eeveelutions is a very simple version of Survivor that takes the element of being able to choose one's path and use that to their advantage. In this version of Survivor, all players are able to select an Eeveelution each round to give them added benefits to their rolls. For example, players can select Leafeon to change their defensive roll to 125, versus the typical 100, or Vaporeon to earn a re-roll if the roll landed is under 25. For the full list of Eeveelutions, check this website out. Alliances can be turned on in this game if the host allows them as well. Overall, this theme is incredibly simple, but it is also incredibly fun to play.
Being one of the sillier, more fun themes to play in Survivor, Bounty is a theme capable of bringing the entire room together to find the odd one out. The objective of this theme is to discover who The Bounty is and kill them before they kill you. It seems simple at first, but not knowing who The Bounty is makes this theme very interesting. Roles are assigned to each player, with each one having a different attribute to help towards defeating, or aiding, The Bounty. For example, Private Eye and Trapper are able to identify who The Bounty is. However, on the flip side, roles such as The Bomb and Loudmouth can be beneficial to The Bounty being successful. Although it may seem impossible to win as The Bounty since there are no extra abilities that come along with it, The Decoy can aid in this success. Bounty is truly a very fun game style that most of the room seems to enjoy.
