5. trace - 32-38 all-time, 20-23 LCPL

Our favorite resident Kpoper and anime fan, trace is arguably the most experienced individual in this pool, having played in 43 LCPL games. His experience can be seen both as a benefit and a detriment against him. trace isn't a builder like some of the players in this pool and usually requires good team support, but he will usually end around a solid even record if you are able to do so.

I didn't want to make this post early but I feel so frustrated about this matter that I rather share it here so that hopefully things change for the following weeks. To put it simple I can't work at all with my team to the point that it bothers me a lot. The biggest issue is that I can't work with jcbc. Jc was my manager before in LPL with HSOWA where things went fine It was mostly because JC quit week 3 or so and I don't care to much about lpl but I don't like when managers leave mid season. Before the draft he dmed me that he was interested in buying me and I said I don't mind which tbf was a lie from me but I don't think it's allowed to say I don't want to play for team X + I always should give someone a second chance. So naturally i wasn't super happy when I got drafted by them with obviously having the worst roster. But overall I stayed positive knowing last season I thought fille team wasn't the strongest on paper too but still won the tournament. When week 1 started I quickly realised this was not going to work when the team quickly was divided by Spanish speaking players and English speaking speakers which was something I really don't like I didn't talk with wrath Dutch either cuz i believe teamwork is important especially in a team with a lot of players but instead i guess i can mute some channels! Wich result in seeing a stone edge tink debut. Ofcourse my game last week was bad and was 100% on me although our sv chat was pretty much dead and i do believe that we loaded 2 bad teams that could have been avoided if we work more together. Overal i didn't like week 1 to much but that's how sometimes tournaments goes. Week 2 start and my friend Akaru was slotted in oras and JC told him to not speak English in the channel while I was sharing some ideas in the chat wich probably was the last thing needed to make me frustrated. I was super excited for lcpl and played all oldgen pl to get enough experience in them so i can be presence in helping all slots but instead my manager just want him to use his own teams. Then today there was again some dumb argument with him that was about something stupid and it ended up with like They wouldn't do that cuz they lose their X check then when we didn't even use the X check to begin with. It feels like I am just wasting my time and only get angry watching teamchat being some Spanish lcwc V2 that I am pretty much done with that. You can keep me in I do not care I won't cancer but I hope it's possible to get traded to other team if it's possible.

I wasn't even sure if I would make this post or when i should make it since I thought we could wait and see if things can hold up, but now I'll follow because if we can even fix things this is the time. It is my first time playing LCPL and it has been a pleasure to be drafted by 9.5k but this has been my worst team tour experience so far, the worst, thankfully to jcbc. First of all (if me 9.5k being third highest price and benched week 2 doesn't get included), the language barrier goes way more than I expected. I'm not a native English speaker and probably should be the last one to ask this, but there are simply just too many conversations in spanish, which already stops me from trying to translate and even looking at other channels, sorry, non english-only channels. Do you want me to say everything in Chinese instead? Oh then the reviews, I love reviews.

I got nothing but you saying we could've had a better score if we didn't get lucked in bw like i messed everything up, and nothing but benching me without explaining even one word. Maybe that's what I deserved after spending hours and saying every sentence off a dictionary to explain why we don't load a STONE EDGE TINK. I was so eager to play in lcpl from my first attempt in lc back in lcwc. I watched replays and went so hard in lpl to show people what i can do. That made me hesitated about if i should ever publicly flame this. I thought I could bear all these to help people test and do whatever the heck i can do until today. The lovely conversation on what could that who-knows-why-we-talk-about-it mon. No, that mon is trash and all that conversation is simply trolling and wasting time because you suggest that we could remove their X check without even bringing X ourselves. Nice try.

This situation reminds me so much of two "incidents" I've had in other teamtours, and frankly I'm very much involved in this so I will comentate on the situtation.
I was a manager in a Doubles PL with Tenzai whatever who cares. I was there bc Tenzai doesn't speak English, so I was supposed to do the boring, talking to other managers stuff and he would help with builds. I thought that would be such a great idea.
Well, Tenzai sadly went afk after like w3 until like w5, and the people noticed. They started saying we were the worst captains ever, started complaining so much about us to everyone (I was allegedly useless bc i didn't know DOU at all, and he was afk). Eventually, the hosts would assign a third manager in Hugo (I think, idr much). Nothing really changed but they were happier bc their new manager knew DOU and spoke (I still did my job).
I have been drafted with a person I famously don't get along with, Midas/Kaboom. I don't think any of us hates the other, or does anything maliciously in purpose, but we have had our fair share of fights. First thing we did when we knew we were together was say "I want a good tour, let's put everything else aside". We absolutely are doing that, I have no complaints about him as a teammate. We do have different opions of course, but at the end of the day we act like professionals and are able to have normal, helpful talks about the teams and the games. I wish he can play soon to prove what he is capable of.
On another note, I have my very good friend daunt in the chat, as I prep everything with him. We will talk in Spanish sometimes, especially bc our manager is also a spanish speaker, but we do pick what to talk about in a language Kaboom doesn't speak and what do we want to share with him. Mainly, relevant stuff gets talked in english, and irrelevant/quick stuff gets talked in english. Kaboom has not complained about this yet, and if he would do it, we would stop. I've had this happen in multiple other tours, like SSPL/DOU derby/multiple LPLs, and have never had any complaints.
What am I getting at here? Well, for starters, if you have a problem, say it. Teams get created to do teamwork, and one of the most important teamwork duties is communication. If something does not work for you, explain it, and if your team is a good one, it will change for the better, or at least try to.
I do not want to invalidate any feelings towards what has happened during this one week. If you think it's unfair you couldn't understand some stuff, its fine, I get it. If you think it's bad that we give way too much leeway, or way too little, you're allowed to think so. I will not deny anything subjective, this is how humans work. However, I think calling this publicly, after only one week has happened is not a good idea at all. I told the DPL situation because, like nashrocks, these guys were also mostly new to the scene, and they had these expectations that everyone would be 24/7 for them, and everything would be perfect, and that everything would make sense and work out for them, but that is just not how it works. You work with ranom people you don't know, and you have to deal with it. Not everyone has 24 hours in a day to play mons, you won't get along with every person you encounter and most importantly: not everyone is as good in mons as you think you are. Really, truly, keep that in mind. You don't wanna be like the DPL example, you wanna be like the SMPL example, people working out their issues and working together in spite of them. One week is not enough to deserve such a response, or such a reaction maybe. Yes, we allowed Stone Edge Tinkatink, even though everyone but the player disagreed. You wanted us to hard veto it? Say it. You are also part of the team. Yes, we do speak in different languages sometimes (mind you, this happens in every single team ever). We do think we only say stuff in Spanish when it is not needed that you understand it. You think you should be able to understand everything? Say it. I have teamed multiple times with the frenchies, who would obviously speak french. I had no problem with that, and I would just look at the pastes and reply with my thoughts. Had I had an issue with that, I would've asked. We can't fix something we don't know is broken, and only claiming the problems publicly helps no one.

idt this has been brought up yet but i wanna clarify just in case. he doesnt speak english. he uses google translate, and that is an awful way of communicating. i told him i would speak to him in spanish, and he can speak to me in portuguese, and we understand each other. jc thankfully knows portuguese, so he speaks to him in that language too. steco is french, so he also understands us, tho he speaks in english. sasori most of the times does make the effort to speak in english when he says something to the people and not specifically to me/jc. i dont think anyone should have a problem with this, and if you do you should try and communicate with people who don't speak your language really. it is genuinely awful, as someone who dealt with that for some time

At least I didn't blame any of my teammates for support or something and I think it's not their fault so we should probably leave them out of this. I even still played test today come on.

If a set discussion didn't end up with "forbidden", if several advice didn't end up with "the set is fine it removes the X check (while not bring X)", I would try to ask in private. If I hear anything from my boss to me after leaving that review or explaining the line up, even one word, I would not do this publicly. I don't feel it work that way.
 
Alright I have something to confess.

BlackKnight_Gawain has been one of the worst teammates I've ever had in a team tournament. Theres not actually a single thing that redeems his dogshit posting and spam of "you look moldy @everyone" in teamchat. Last Thursday Gawain stopped responding to our pings in the teamcord and deliberately ignored us until this Wednesday. Honestly, our time without him in teamchat was great and to be frank I was enjoying it. You will never fucking guess for the excuse of abandoning our team for almost an entire fucking week.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't sign up to deal with this shit when I signed up to manage LCPL. I signed up to manage LCPL because I thought it would be like any other 9-5. Dude abandoned our team for "moldposting". I am actually so mad right now. I've permanently banned Gawain from our teamcord and I urge managers in the future to not pick him in any team tournament ever again. Actual worst 3k I've ever invested in.

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great Pokémon player, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of LCSL players who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.

But one hundred years later, the LCSL player still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the LCSL player is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the LCSL player lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the LCSL player is still languished in the corners of Pokémon society and finds himself in exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we've come to our nation's Capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the managerial duties, they were signing a promissory note to which every Pokémon player was to fall heir.

This note was a promise that all men, yes, LCPL players as well as LCSL players, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It is obvious today that Pokémon's society has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, Pokémon society has given the LCSL players a bad check; a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check—a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind Pokémon's society of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of signing up to not getting draftd. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of undrafted players to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the LCSL player's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the LCSL player needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in Pokémon's society until the LCSL player is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the LCSL community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?"

We can never be satisfied as long as the LCSL player is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.

We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities.

We cannot be satisfied as long as the LCSL player's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one.

We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "for whites only."

We cannot be satisfied as long as a LCSL player in Mississippi cannot sign up and a LCSL player in New York believes he has nothing for which to sign up.

No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Pokémon player's dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by if they are drafted but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious good drafted players, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, that one day right down in Alabama little LCSL players will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exhalted [sic], every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I will go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning, "My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrims' pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

And if Pokémon's society is to be a great nation, this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania. Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado. Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California. But not only that; let freedom ring from the Stone Mountain of Georgia. Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee. Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, LCPL players, LCSL players, SPL players, and even BLT players will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old LCSL spiritual, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
 
i have to confess i am feeling so let down by my experience managing with Hacker...

he keeps talking about "evolite" and "mienfoo" and saying that "munchlax isn't a viable pokemon". i really can't understand this as everyone knows that munchlax is a S tier pokemon along with gligar? i also don't understand why he's trying to gaslight me into thinking that "eviolite" is a real item? and "mienfoo" is such a stupid name for a pokemon?? i just don't know where he's getting this stuff from
