Project UM Community Create-a-Team! [UUbers submissions CLOSED!]

:sv/hippopotas::sv/probopass:
Hippopotas @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind

Probopass @ Power Herb
Ability: Sand Force
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Power Gem
Standard SV ZU sand core. Sand Force boosted Meteor Beam is a nuke, and ZU has plenty of abusers between Sand Rush, Sand Force, and Weather Ball to take full advantage of Hippopotas' Sand Stream and Probopass' wallbreaking capacities.

:sv/vikavolt::sv/virizion:

Suggesting this established core of ladder farmers.

Vikavolt is a monster and can run many different EV spreads and Tera's as the team needs, but this particular set uses Custap Berry as a potent surprise revenge killer. The EVs ensures it activates the Custap Berry after taking rocks three times, with some Speed to outpace uninvested Sandslash (to better block spin attempts) and fast Glastrier and the rest in physical bulk. Tera Dragon helps it nab KOs against Charizard, Floatzel, and Typhlosion, as needed.

This Virizion set is pretty standard, plain old SD with three attacks, hitting basically everything in the tier besides Mesprit for enormous damage. The real key to unlocking this mon is giving it the Webs support; while Vikavolt doesn't generally have to set Webs, having them down does allow Virizion to outpace a lot of key Choice Scarfers it would otherwise fear, like Passimian and Typhlosion.

:sv/indeedee-f: :sv/raichu-alola:

Def not an established core but saw someone mention it in a post about the vr somewhere and in the limited testing I did with it on ladder seemed like something that could be fun if explored.

The core's pretty self explanatory, indeedee sets the terrain, admittedly it's a semi dead slot, and raichu alola nukes stuff with e force, with its speed tier allowing it to outrun a large amount of the tier. Sets are definitely not optimised(a CCAT's a great place to fix that), with a setup set on raichu potentially being a fun option, whether it cm, np, or even agility stuff. I reckon even specs is an option, with everything outside of spdef mesprit and immunities being 2hkod, and likely outsped if they're not being one shot.

2v2 SUBMISSIONS TIME! YOU MAY NOW START POSTING 2v2 SETS!!

Unlike other 6v6 tiers, 2v2 Doubles will not require users to post cores of 2 Pokemon. Please submit just 1 Pokemon with a full set (it's good to keep things flexible so we may tweak the set in the building phase)! As always, you have about a week for submissions.

Rillaboom that is bulky enough to tank hits from top threats like +2 Gholdengo, +1 Archaludon, +1 Freeze-Dry Iron Bundle, +2 Ivy Cudgel Ogerpon-C, LO Ice Spinner Chien-Pao, Landorus, Gunk Shot Sneasler, etc.

Has speed control in Drum Beating that has great offensive pressure, but you can use Bulldoze to target both opponents if preferred. -Speed with 0 IVs so it can set up Grassy Terrain against Indeedee-F, but this is something that can be played around with (e.g: if you'd prefer Impish instead). Stomping Tantrum and Knock Off are interchangeable, KO for support, and ST to exert offensive pressure on mons like Iron Hands, Gouging, etc. I had fun using Focus Punch but it's a move you'd probably not wanna use unless against specific opposition.

:sv/deoxys-defense:
Deoxys-Defense @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD or
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Recover
- Night Shade
- Stored Power
This Pokemon has CRAZY defensive calcs and can solo Iron Hands :)

Spread 1 Defensive Calculations: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
:flutter mane:

252 SpA Life Orb Flutter Mane Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Deoxys-Defense: 234-276 (77.2 - 91%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
:iron hands:
136+ Atk Iron Hands Wild Charge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-Defense: 82-97 (27 - 32%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
:Ogerpon-wellspring:
252+ Atk Wellspring Mask Ogerpon-Wellspring Ivy Cudgel vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-Defense in Rain: 157-186 (51.8 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
:chien-pao:
252 Atk Choice Band Sword of Ruin Chien-Pao Crunch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-Defense: 254-300 (83.8 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Overall a very funny goober, can destroy your opponent if they aren't prepared. Has Cosmic Power to set up, Stored Power for nice damage, Recover for... Recovery. Night Shade is good general damage and hits Dark-types. Man, if this dude got Body Press...

MERCURY (Ogerpon-Cornerstone) (F) @ Cornerstone Mask
Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Encore
- Follow Me
- Spiky Shield

have come around to corner again recently because its one of the few things that can beat psyspam and isn't a useless chien-pao. sturdy doesn't quite let it 1v2 but you almost always have an unambiguous line with a partner that does anything. usually prefer encore to power whip since its just too crushing to let a fake out user click fake out and you cant afford to gamble on what line your opp will take.

Corviknight @ Maranga Berry
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Iron Defense
- Roost
- Body Press
- Brave Bird

Would be suggesting corviknight
I realised the potential this mon had towards the final couple of weeks of 2v2pl the access to idef and bpress along with it being eved with max spd nd maranga berry makes it very hard to kill, with moves like bpress it can abuse it high base stats along with def boosts from idef, brave bird helps out with ghost types or waterpon and with the right partners like iron hands/landlords which can take care of it’s fire nd electric weakness it can be really good.

Sinistcha @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Heatproof
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD ?
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 19 Spe
- Rage Powder
- Calm Mind / trick room / iron defense or life dew?? (no please no)
- Shadow Ball
- Strength Sap

I dont see that many submissions, i had a lot of ideas (scarfhoop, corv, prim, scarf kyub, gapdos, and other stuff) but decided to go with Sinistcha. I've basically never seen this mon (dont look at my umbd set) and i want to see more done with it. It tanks 99% of moves, I think the only one it gets ohkoed by is pao and flutter and like kyub.

Now onto the actual stuff, Sinistcha is very bulky to say the least. It has redirect, sadly doesnt effect grass types but its fine. It has arguably the most annoying move in the whole game strength sap, and a lot of other support that could be thrown on it. It isn't very good... right now, but i think if we actually have people working to find good support and things it could be a very solid mon in this meta. Before any of yall say anything, matcha gotcha is bad, it hits nothing for any damage :)
Theres a lot more to say but idk what it is :))) sorry for the poorly written post deal with it

(Someone please find the correct set... I like building with this mon but I don't test much sorry, but actually the evs and set both prolly need to see the support first ahhh idk)

It's that time again.

THE CCAT TIER IS 1V1!

Much like 2v2, you just need to post 1 Pokemon [set] as your submission (We may, however, tweak the set in the building phase)! You have about a week for submissions.

Let's build around Avalugg-Hisui! A 'mon that's definitely usable in 1v1, and not really present in other UM metagames. It is very specific to the way the format works, and is a bit of its own niche even within 1v1, shared with a few others sure but otherwise something that can be/encourages building around rather than being just a generic "goodmon". I'm not sharing a set, tbh, because it should be decided at time if picked.

I feel like I'm in primary school presenting my favourite toy in front of the class. :3

So, everyone, this is Amphy ("hiiiii Amphy~~"), one of the mons with who I have the most fun on ladder.

ampharos.gif

While offensively lackluster tbh, it has the unique combo of Static + defensive boost, perfect for a Para fisher.
Cotton Guard + Static punishes neutral physical attackers. Charge helps tanking special moves, notably slow Volcanions, and ohko back with boosted Discharge.
As the item, Mago Berry works surprisingly well. I lost count of all the battles won in a clutch with it, ending in the red zone. Sitrus Berry also ok.
For the last move, you can go Dazzling Gleam to cover both Urshifus (less odds vs Reversal and AV sets), Rest for a full-on stall set, or Focus Blast/Meteor Beam depending on your coverage needs.

Ampharos @ Mago Berry
Ability: Static
EVs: 80 HP / 136 Def / 168 SpA / 124 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Dazzling Gleam
- Cotton Guard
- Charge

Speed to creep slow Metagross, bulk for modest Primarina after Charge and banded Urshifu Close Combat.

Funny old replays I found:

I present to you, the most unique of all Pokemon found in 1v1. It strongly deviates, not only from its form in 6v6 tiers, but also from the form of every other archetype in 1v1.

(Bellibolt) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Electromorphosis
EVs: 248 HP / 24 Def / 64 SpA / 172 SpD
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Parabolic Charge
- Soak
- Endure

Tanks Choice Band Chien-Pao and Modest Porygon-Z, rest in Special Attack.

Being possibly the only mon that has ever used the move Soak competitively, this frog is the most unique of all bulky special attackers. Building around it is fun as hell because it just finesses so many things randomly. Parabolic Charge combined with Soak make it deceptively tanky, and Custap Berry allows it to ignore annoying things such as "speed tiers" to blast its foes with an Electromorphosis boosted stab move.
:bellibolt:

It would be cool to build around Mabosstiff, the way I use it is a bit gimmicky but that work pretty well.
The funny move that mabosstiff get is Comeuppance ,its a new moves from gen9 who does exactly the samething as metal burst but dark .Mabosstiff is really bulcky because of intimidante and his stat so he can tank pretty huge damage espicially on the phisical side.
-1 188+ Atk Choice Band Ursaluna Giga Impact vs. 252 HP / 16 Def Mabosstiff: 292-345 (80.2 - 94.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Moth Overheat vs. 252 HP / 236+ SpD Mabosstiff: 307-363 (84.3 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
And this is the set I play.

Mabosstiff @ Iron Ball
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Def / 236 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Taunt
- Crunch
- Comeuppance
- Pain Split
I play iron ball to be slower than ursaluna/ursaluna-bloodmoon and donphan.
pain split really help sometimes ,its really effective against donphan.
taunt is great against corv.

As we're doing a UM ccat, I figured it'd be fitting to not just do a cool 1v1 mon, but a cool 1v1 mon but one that isn't good in any other UM tiers! (that's what a lot of people are suggesting too here so ye)
I thought about a few mons that I've enjoyed using in 1v1 that fits these conditions! A few that do that I thought of were
-Granbull

...just granbull
:granbull:

Granbull @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 88 HP / 168 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Counter
- Ice Punch
- Wild Charge/Fire Punch/rock slide/really whatever you want

This is ev'd for choice Band Hoopa-u after intimidate, as well as choice Band urshifu-rapid-strike, with the rest dumped into attack!

I've used this in a few individual tours, as well as world cup of 1v1, and although it usually works as a good second/third mon, I've built around it with success!

While not a top tier mon, it currently sits around D rank in the VR (I think it has potential to make it to C-, even C!) and is a physically strong and physically bulky pokemon that gets little to no 6v6 usage!

Calling all granbull believers!
https://pokepast.es/25f1a2cf8e2bf986

Here is an example team. Although it does struggle against some ursalunas (and admittedly a lot of other mons), I think that as a community, we can create an actually decent granbull team :)

:iron treads:

Iron treads is a very cool pokemon with a relatively underexplored niche. The basic set is fairly straightforward
Iron Treads @ Booster Energy / Air Balloon
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ground
EVs:
Jolly Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Heavy Slam
- Filler

Unlike most other IDPress pokemon, Iron Treads is already naturally fast with base 106 speed. Combine this with a Booster Energy you can hit 513 Speed on turn 1. This means you can pretty much always ID before the opponent which lets you easily survive a lot of hits before you Body Press the opponent.

The obvious downsides are of course it's rather meh special bulk and attack that leaves a lot to be desired; often times it's not even worth running secondary STAB.

1v1 CCAT is now over! The UM cycle is now complete. Good long session this time, thanks everyone!

Team:
:avalugg-hisui::volcanion::spectrier:

Congratulations to a fairy on winning the submissions phase! Next tier is NFE (submissions will go up in a few days)
For future reference can I ask what were the criteria of selection for the mon to build around?
