like I am fully tunnelled

I think dbd vs des being svs is so likely that I can't move forward with the game until that universe is resolved right now. like I said, I'm trying to get DBD to convince me otherwise and he's swatting away every lay up so I'm only getting more tunnelled lol

hey hey tbf I already called AirC out before you did x3

I'm tunnelled bc like obviously, I'm saying I am, but that's also in large part because so few other people are here that there's nothing to challenge my current worldview so ofc I remain in the tunnel

it's entirely likely that me and DBD are TvT and the scum are sitting back with their feet up. I could be convinced to wagon afk later because of this universe. I can't be convinced to wagon afk later if there are more afk than scumslots in the game though, bc that's largely just randvoting

out of anyone who's posted properly DBD is scum, but yeah the scum might be afk
 
You've played with genisu before, right? Care to share what you think on him while you wait for dbd to respond?

I think Cel v dbd could easily be tvt just because town!cel going in this hard and being wrong has definitely happened before in the games I've played with him, and I dont think dbd is a partner with des because I dont see a world where scum des has the wherewithal to do a bus
 
like my PoE is genisu / pebble / airc / peum / miyami / phoopes / pulsar / neon / jalmont there's no townsolving going on here bc there's nothing to townsolve really

some are weaker in the PoE than others but a call to consider other universes isn't actionable without content yk
 
largely because anyone can do pop ins and wallposts, discerning towncred from pop ins and wallposts is a lot more difficult to do confidently than townsolving liveposting

and there just hasn't been much liveposting this game

I still critique pop ins and wallposts ofc but phoopes for instance is an expert and those kinds of posts as both town and scum and differentiating between him doing those posts as town or scum is really difficult (which is why in games like popcorn I just left him alone until he's forced to livepost more)

I have played with genisu before, but not since his hiatus and he's came back acting fairly different than before he left so actually not really lol

he only came back last game so we don't have much meta on him

I will say that last game (i hosted it so I still kept up with it) he did assume a more sort of passive, observant demeanour than average and certainly than he had before the hiatus. this game fits that role, and he was town last game, but I have no clue whether that's just more like how he is now as a person or whether it's related to alignment in any way

Okay, but there's a difference between "i haven't ruled this player out as scum" and "i think this player is scum". Is dbd the only scum read you have that falls into the second one?

ye there is, the PoE is the default and people leave the PoE by being towny in my mind sorry if it wasn't clear x3

yeah tbh DBD is currently the only player in the game I could actually case in any satisfactory manner, which is largely my pre-requisite to scumread someone bc I can come up with cases easily

look at his ISO from Day 1. seemed very townie to me, trying to get some useful information out of des/advance the game as much as you can on day one. seemed reasonable in his thought processes even if he did vote for me at one point. between this and being consistent with past behavior according to y'all those are good enough reasons to townread for me

I'm trying to refrain from talking about des until the game has progressed a little. I think both sides have merit. I think it's interesting that we know des has read through the thread and yet hasn't posted anything.

but reading back actually maybe there is a case here. because what jalmont's saying in this situation is correct, but he's apparently not applying the same logic in the inverse ("isn't it a little early to be coming to the conclusion that the people voting for des are all town?") because that's my entire DBD case and he just voted me presumably for it

there's a chance jalmont's just voted me bc he thinks i'm posting too much and he doesn't want to read it despite knowing it's NAI though

this is kind of the dichotomy that I think people have wrt des. if des!town, mafia is always going to try and leave them as an option for a vote. and it's not a bad plan, because from a town perspective i personally think there is value in voting des d1 early vs anyone else the mafia experts believe to be mafia based on the fact that on the balance d1 is kind of just a rand vote.

alternatively, des!mafia i don't think has happened yet. obviously scumbuddies don't want to bus too hard but I think they have to be very open to that possibility. how early they go for it i'm not sure though. at least early i think it's much easier to soft defend des and hope people rvs elsewhere so kind of want to say evie and miyami are lean town for me atm.

looking at it from a third-party observer perspective it feels like there's a conflict in logic there

like if what he said yesterday were his feelings, and actually mirrors a lot of what I've said today, then he wouldn't vote me bc looking back I'm sort of agreeing with him on the theory
