OC [Game Over - Mafia Win] How can my role be THIS bad? An OC Mafia game

It’s basically already public so let’s just be public

Alice claimed her role is jalmont’s exact role, except her results are positive / neutral / negative and Jalmont’s is good vibes / bad vibes

They are otherwise almost identical seemingly, except Alice has an additional restriction on how her role targets
I don't find the claim particularly believable either, because your role doesn't suck enough.
I’m saying this because Pebble claimed to have worked with Alice and so surely received her claim. This sentence makes no sense, in that context.

it’s very clear an agenda is being pushed by someone and it seems likely given this is almost a counterclaim that one of Alice and Jalmont are scum and the other are town

Albeit it would be an inspired hosting choice to put counterclaims on town together. That would make the roles SO bad

You're lacking a lot of information here

Let’s play NOC why are we trying to work together to solve a puzzle while hiding the pieces from each other

You can’t solve a jigsaw when all 4 corners are hidden in 4 different houses!!

Unless someone actually has a useful role there’s no reason to play this like an OC I think bluedoom has been making this point all game

We have no one we need to protect, or hide from scum, or whatever. There’s no cop to keep away from a nightkill, or doctor who we need to privately give targets to.

Seems more like there’s an in-group and an out-group, and imo the in-group’s far above rand to include scum in it anyway because scum have higher WIM and will effort enough to be included in it.

So all that current gameplay is achieving is kicking town out of the crucial discussions, and that’s a losing strategy

My DMs are also open Peum I never message first in these games lmao
Isn't that kind of counter-intuitive :<? You can't really complain abt not being included in the in-group if you're not willing to put yourself out there for discussion.

I guess my mindset is different on WIM aspects tho, I'd imagine maf are less likely to be out there and messaging folks because they have things to hide. Or at least thats how it was in the last OC I played.

In any case, I don't think boiling down my argument to just the roleclaim is accurate. I have questions abt Jal's claim in general because of the way he did it.

He's presumably been messaging folks, much like my investigator did with me, I'd assume he would have picked someone he trusted to release the information abt Alice. He said he had messaged his good vibes person in the first place and he messaged Genisu too apparently? If he received this information a while ago why didn't the information come out until less than 12 hours before phase change? Its not like he had to claim it himself if he was already communicating with folks.

Also, I mean tbf, his role doesn't suck that bad. Its just like assumed cop but he can't find 3P apparently?

Dead by Daylight was the first person to switch off of genisu on day 1 and I don’t think any reason was listed other than “something seems fishy”. Because of that I am also suspicious of Dead by Daylight’s willingness to roll with Celever’s counterclaim theory and this feels to me like Dead by Daylight is attempting to split the vote and stop town from making forwards progress again.

Jalmont’s role claim also came after mafia feasibly could have had info about Alice’s role so the fact that the role claim is so similar with just a small modification makes me think it was fabricated. (And also the reasons people brought up of him messaging Genisu with results)

I think town shouldn’t risk another no vote so because of that and for the reasons above:
## Vote: Jalmont

I am townleaning bluedoom and peum because they’ve been saying reasonable things and seem to be pushing progress.

I am not sure what to make of Alice/Celever. Celever has said “activity will be low” and then continued to talk two days in a row which sounds like mafia trying to buy breathing room while still influencing the game. Alice’s actions seem a bit more towny even if I’m not sold on them. Maybe one is mafia and the other is town.

the vote is already split though. i'm saying neither vote is the correct option. i think we should wagon someone else, but i'm still trying to figure out who i think it's best we vote for.

re: genisu. i found the wagon formation and how quickly it racked up votes to be suspicious Day 1, especially for someone who I had not seen much discussion about

Genisu’s claim is so polarizing that I don’t think there was much discussion to be had, it was either you’re down with policy voting the claim or you’re not.

Who are you thinking for the vote then? There’s not too much more time before deadline so if we want something to happen we’ll have to be decisive

I'm fine with a genisu vote now. I had suspicions day 1 about the wagon, but you're right that it's a strongly negtown role that we should probably remove ASAP without the context of the wagon.

##Vote: genisu

I’m okay with voting Genisu out at some point because it’s a net negative role, and it was certainly the best play on d1, but I don’t think voting Genisu brings us any closer to learning who the mafia are.
If we pursue another path today we at least have fingers to point depending on the outcome of the vote and we are closer to finding real mafia members
