OK, here's that sketch I was talking about before. I know the quality and everything is terrible, I'll fix that later ( crash learning how to use complex image-editing programs will be lots of fun ). It'll look way better coloured, especially the so-called "poisonous mist" it has on its head.

I think this guy just screams "I want to screw with your team".

Based on the Oho Jees from Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga with a little bit of a Japanese Oni that slipped in somehow by accident.
It can definately spin ( here's a Youtube vid depicting a battle with an Oho Jee, which spins for a second right at the beginning ), and you'd know if you ever attacked one that they start spinning like crazy at you.

So then I added maniacal qualities to give it the "oddball" feel that would correspond with a ridiculous support movepool. He's chubby if anyone wants Thick Fat. And he can be fast, too!

So, what do you guys think?

P.S. I can make its head spiky if people really want Spikes/TS.

This definately looks like it would screw with people for fun and then laugh in their faces. You should definately give it more spikes so Spikes and Toxic Spikes are more viable.

Giant killer earthworm? Now that doesn't sound like a mondo badass sweeper at all*sarcasm*
What about omgthatkid95's poison/ground spider design?

It appears that this user should go outside more, as he clearly has not seen enough earthworms and spiders to correctly judge which one looks more suited to attacking.

Hehe, good point, yet, which one is more apt to set up?
A spider with it's web/burrow, or an earthworm with it's...dirt?
But that concept art of a many toothed giant worm of doom seems a helluva lot more threatening than any spider, to me.

Hey guys, i hope im not to late...i drew like a rough draft of what i would like to submit but before you guys gain opinions i wanted to quickly describe this pokemon. Its a hedgehog or a mole(i havent decided yet) that is inside a doom dozer, thus adding ground attributes and spin attributes it's small so it fast and i made it so that inside of the doom dozer it has spikes and items that it plays with such as bells, etc(toxic spikes, heal bell). Also resembles worker men of which, use utilities to get work done, which is what this pokemon does. hope you like it

Yes, cuz Mongolian death worms(which is what we were talking about) are just so common in the states.

This is exactly why I'm suggesting to list potential key moves of the Pokemon. A spider's charm point is Spider Web, which can be answered with the Block of our earthworm, albeit with less PP. Baton Pass, however, is unlikely on the earthworm while feasible on the spider.

And remember that some utility moves actually require the Pokemon in question to look scary - Roar, for one.

That concept art isn't mine, I just gave it as a reference to any artist that wants to draw it up as I can't draw. The artist would presumably "Pokemonize" that thing, preferably with a velvet worm so we can give it Encore.

Edit:

Mongolian deathworm is a just big red earthworm that looks like a cow's guts. It attacks not by RIP AND TEAR, but poisoning and/or electrifying anything nearby.

For all intents and purposes, it's just an earthworm. As mentioned, it would need to be stylized to be an usable Pokemon.

Not to be rude or anything, but taking one look at that mongolian death worm, my guess is that if it wanted to rip and tear, it damn well COULD rip and tear.

It's a bit more Bug than I anticipated, but...

glasscannonwe7.png

The cannon on its back fires a highly corrosive acid, capable of melting though steel doors in under three seconds. Its nervous system is partially exposed, making it vulnerable when above the ground.

We could always load that cannon up with other things for setting up, if need be, like caltrops.

I was planning on doing just that as soon as I had some cool concept art to visually please people :P

erm...

I don't have much else to say beyond that for now.
I'm off to sleep.

i think it's great sal. can you make the thing it's in more organic? most pokemon are entirely biological, especially after the first generation.

ur right but i wanted to try something that hadn't been done before. But still there are pokemon that use items like alakazam, sponik, fardfech, cubone, etc. all in the same the pokemon i drew isnt attached to the drill so it can come out of it, but i dont know how i could make a doom dozer organic.

Ah, so that's the problem. Actually, I was going for that look so we could add Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Crunch and elemental Fangs, as mentioned in a previous post. As a cryptid, the deathworm has more than one artistic interpretations, so here are milder ones.

And no worries about taking offense, I am genuinely enjoying the art discussion.

well, except spoink, which to me looks more like it's natural, all of those are first gen pokes.

try drawing the full body of the poke, then give it a tail that's a drill. definitely lean toward hedgehog, so spikes are a possibility, and give it a little bit of a mischievious look, so it looks like it'll do utility and fuck up it's opponents rather than directly attack them.

Oh, I see now. Thank you for clearing that up.

Ok, IMPORTANT question: When does this thread close? I drew something for the last CAP, but I finished it too late, and I really don't want that to happen again. :\

ok that works, so im going to try to do that, im probably gonna draw two more versions a less scared doom dozer version and a drill tail version
