Nimbus is my final submission.

Dragohm

Just to confirm, my final submission is Dragohm

Combination of Dragon and Ohm. Pronounced "Dray Gome"

Cyclohm

Since I've seen a little support for it:

Final Submission
Cyclohm

Cyclone, which is a storm, and Ohm, a unit of resistance which on an electric pokemon implies bulky. Or refers to it's 4x resist to electric.

Raivern

Here's my final submission, Raivern

It is just a combination of Rai, the japanese term for thunder/lightning, and wyvern.

Thanks for the support anyways.hihi^^

Atmosfere
Thorns said:
Third time, my final submission is Atmosfere. The best part is it's not thunder word + dragon word, really.

Fritz

My final submission is Fritz.
Because everyone wants someone named Fritz on their team.

Teslacoatl

Final Submission: Teslacoatl
Ohmigod

Final Sunmission: Ohmigod

Trimera
ShunWolfKin said:
My Final Submission would be Trimera.

It is an obvious play on the word Chimera and the prefix tri. The Hydra, Cerberus, and the Chimera were all siblings(if memory serves) in greek myths. This is interesting since a dragon general portrays parts from various animals(making it a kind of chimera in a way). Also Cerberus has three heads like our Thunder cloud. And finally if I recall right didn't Cyzir refer to it as a Thunder Hydra at some point?

Spiffy

Just reposting it: Final Submission - Spiffy

As in: Damn that is one Spiffy dragon!

I voted for Spiffy. It is a cute and perky name which is reminiscent of the slightly fluffy nature of CaP8.. Also I can't think of it as anything but Spiffy because that's what I've always called it. The other names are ok, but they are all a bit too similar/unpretty aesthetically :x Teslacoatl is ok though.

I think that Ohmigod is hilarious, and adds a welcome touch of levity to the CAP process. Spiffy has taken a huge early lead, but I confess I just don't 'get' it.

While Ohmigod is a clever parody, it seeks to make this CaP gimmicky. Spiffy is actually a serious submission...
And how is Spiffy anymore serious than Ohmigod? Both submissions seem like equally gimmicky names to me. Neither one of them aren't bad although both have that "Fidgit" vibe towards them. I can't help but feel that either one of those names seem forced on when looking at the pokemon.

Vote for Teslacoatl:
It's a clever portmanteau combining the electrical meaning of Tesla (Nikola Tesla) and the draconic wonder of coatl (of quetzacoatl, a famous Mesoamerican deity). It suits this CaP design wonderfully and has the best "Pokemon" feel to it IMO. I also really like the fact that the name reminds me of "Tesla Coil", one of Nikola Teslas famous inventions.

I also can't help but be amazed at how many votes "Spiffy" is getting. It doesn't seem to suit this CaP at all and it seems like people just want to slap a cute name on to anything without any thought. I just can't look at "Spiffy" and take it seriously, can you? I mean if you really want to have the name "Spiffy", play the actual game (or play shoddy) and nickname something Spiffy.

Gooey Kablooie's right, what's so great about Spiffy? This ain't a Glameow, you need something that sounds tough. That's why I'm going with Trimera.

Can you guys stop calling Spiffy a gimmick? Because it doesn't have any deep electrical undercurrent (HEH), it doesn't mean it's a gimmick.

Who say the only way people are calling Spiffy a gimmick is because the lack of electric and/or dragon attachment within the name? Trimera, Atmosfere, and Nimbus have nothing to do with Electric nor Dragon and yet they're not gimmick. Spiffy in within itself isn't a gimmicky name and it does have some merits (same goes for Fritz), but seem like those name are being forced onto a Pokemon. To be honest every CAP name so far had a forced on name in one way or another.

BTW, he design doesn't look all that cute nor does it look anything one would call badass. It's seem like a equal mix of pleasure looking and fearsomeness within that three headed lizard.

I'm beginning to think that with the design we have, names containing "ohm" no longer seem fitting for this pokemon because they're conveying the idea of electricity in general rather than thunder and lightning, which is what this pokemon really is. I like Atmosfere (though would've been better spelt "Atmosfear") because it's a pun on the cloudiness of the pokemon's body. Trimera and Nimbus are OK as well but the rest of the names just don't sound like the sort of thing you'd call a three-headed cloud beast.

Spiffy and Fritz are just bleh! Speaking of bleh! names, I'm going to see if I can find the other names suggested for Fidgit.

EDIT: I saw two names in the name polls for CAP4 that I think would've been better than Fidgit.

Spiffy? How can I do anything but laugh when I send in my pokemon to counter Spiffy? Think of the puns... That's a Spiffy moveset you have there! Gamefreak is crying and writing up lawsuits for defamation of character as we speak. This is all in good humor of course, but I'm pulling for Atmosfere. It'a a cloud, how much more perfect can you get? Just noting that this will be the second time that a name involving the 'spheres has appeared in CAP if Atmosfere wins (Stratagem).

When you really look at it, of the names given, only Atmosfere, Nimbus, and Trimera are good names for the pokemon, and maybe Cyclohm. The others either don't fit (Teslacoatl, Raivern) or are just rather bland (the remaining 4).

And I still think it should be spelled Atmosfear, but whatever.

Just noting that this will be the second time that a name involving the 'spheres has appeared in CAP if Atmosfere wins (Stratagem).

The "Strata" comes from geologic strata (ie, rock layers), not stratosphere.

To be fair, Spiffy would be the perfect name to have when you 6-0'd someone. Think about it what's worse than getting 6-0 by a Pokemon? Getting 6-0'd by a Pokemon whose name you couldn't took serious enough to notice how beastly it was. It's almost like naming someone of Jack-5 physique "Tiny". Oh you'll laugh but soon you'll be wishing you haven't.

You argument almost makes me wish I could change my vote, as that would be hilarious.

Still I think it's better to name a good pokemon likewise. All the beastliest pokemon have the most fearsome names. Metagross, Tyranitar, Aerodactyl, etc. I just want to be able to take a serious threat seriously. On a Gimmick pokemon, however spiffy would be the bomb. I'm still hoping that one of these days the concept for the ultimate gimmick will win out.

Like several others, I think that Atmosfere should get a spelling change to Atmosfear, as it looks more like a Pokemon name and not so much like a silly mispelling. If that could be arranged (the original submitter/a majority agree on it?) I think it would easily be the best name.

Out of the rest of the names, the only ones that are not gimmicky/ don't fit quite right with the Pokemon are Nimbus, Trimera and Cyclohm. (Raivern is a great-sounding name, but as this thing looks nothing like a Wyvern, it would be odd to name it that.) Nimbus being a word is a bit undesirable, imo. I voted for Trimera, but I'm pulling for Atmosfear.

Atmosfere has the perfect blend of awesome, and innocence to depict this pokemon.

((Atmosfear may be better, that's true, but fear would be something to depict something really vicious, like Houndoom or something.))

I'm not sure why people are voting for Atmosfere of all things. :S

Spiffy is in the same manner as Boinkabonk was when we were figuring out Kitsunoh's name. For me, it's such a crazy and unassociable name that I'm kind of wondering why it was allowed in the first place. Even Nintendo's crazy naming system doesn't go so far as to make a Pokemon that doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with its name. "Hey, guys! That CAP named its Electric/Dragon poke SPIFFY!"

In most scenarios, I feel like you should be able to be given a Pokemon's name and be able to at least get some kind of general picture of it from that. If I give you Froslass, you could, with some thought, get an image of "ice girl" somewhere. If I give you Spiffy, you could, with some thought, ask me if that was really the name of a Pokemon, CAP or otherwise, or whether I'm just messing with you.

Teslacoatl is easily the best name on the list. It fits the art, rolls off the tongue and makes a cool reference.

You're kidding yourself if you think Spiffy isn't a stupid name. It's right up there with Boinkaboink. On top of that, it simply doesn't match the art at all.

I have no idea why Atmosfere is getting votes. It's seriously almost as bad as Spiffy.

Trimera is a pretty cool choice, I'd be fine with that.

Which is what this pokemon supposedly is, correct?

Anyway, if Atmosfere wins, will there be a chance to change the spelling to Atmosfear or is that not allowed?

Teslacoatl does sound like a good name for an electric dragon, but the Tesla part implies man-made electricity that you see in circuits or machinery, rather than natural electricity from thunder clouds.

Guys, remember, no matter what wins, you can always nickname your Pokemon. The name will only determine the 'actual' name of the Pokemon. It's not like all CAP 8s used in battle are called by a singular name (I nicknamed my Kitsunoh Foxtrot)

I just don't get Spiffy...
I voted for my own idea because I'm that kind of person. But out of the others I think Teslacoatl and Cyclohm are the best.

Spiffy is by far the greatest name ever in the history of naming things with names. PERIOD.

There is no name greater than Spiffy, all will tremble before it.

Also, Thunda has a great name idea for CAP8, if Spiffy loses.

Voted Spiffy. The name is short, sweet and to the point. We don't have to worry about the meaning of the word too much (like some other submissions) and it is very easy to say. Though some of the other names, like Atmosfere, are easy to pronounce, it doesn't have the same ring as Spiffy does.

Anyway, if Atmosfere wins, will there be a chance to change the spelling to Atmosfear or is that not allowed?

According to darkie, it would be up to the TL to chose whether or not to hold a poll to change the name if it wins.
