If i have a choice band salamence with outrage, dragon claw and stone edge should i give it crunch or firefang? I have a STAB fire blast already on my team but no dark (or for that matter any ghost destrying) moves

I would use fire fang for the 2KO on bronzong, You should also consider fire blast to hit skarmory that tr6y to switch in as fire won't 2KO without previous damage.

How can I beat Tower Tycoon Palmer if I need EVed pokemon to beat him, but I need the power items (which I can only get BP for without taking, like, a month unless I beat Palmer) to EV my pokemon?
You guys are smarter than me with this game, how did you guys start off EVing? I don't have Platinum (no battle frontier), so yeah. Do I just EV the hard way? Do I get pokerus, and if so would someone be willing to infect a random crappy pokemon (like, lv3 bidoof. I just need to spread it, obviously) with pokerus and trade it to me? I know it seems like a lot to post in this thread, but I'm new here and I was told it's not worthy of a new thread.

Either do it the hard way, or find yourself a Macho Brace. You can get the Macho Brace by going to Pastoria city and show a guy three variations of burmy. I forgot which person it was, but you can figure it out.

It will make your job a bit easier.

It depends on who has the fire blast. I'd give mence EQ > stone edge though.

This is insane. After all of these years since I played RBY, I've only JUST noticed:

Look at the bottom of the shell. Thats slowbro's tail in its mouth. Did everyone else know this?

Is Rock Slide a good option over Thunderpunch for Choice Scarf Medicham?
And why do people say Psychic is a bad offensive type? Only two types bar itself resist, and affects two...decent considering Poison-types have few weaknesses...

Is there any way for me to get the secret key now the event has finished? If not, is there a known possibility that the event will be active again?
I asked the Nintendo rep at the store where I work. He said that there will be other chances to get the key for people who have yet to buy Platinum.

Psychic is a bad offensive type not because few types resist it, but because many, many very powerful Pokemon resist or are immune to it (just in the top 10 I see Scizor, Heatran, Metagross, and Tyranitar. Go down another ten and we also see Latias, Jirachi, Azelf, and Starmie, as well as Skarmory at 21) In addition, Poison types are rare, and Ghost types are hit just as hard by Dark and Ghost.

Hi guys, if I have an Infernape with perfect IVs (wrong nature) and a ditto with perfect IVs (wrong nature), would bleeding using the two of them without using everstone be a viable option? Or am I better off trying to catch a good native ditto?
Thanks.

I would not. The pseudo-BoltBeam punch combo provides great coverage already. Thunderpunch hits Gyarados much harder than Rock Slide, and you already have Ice Punch to kill Salamence.
So I should use Rock Slide on the Band set and Thunderpunch on Scarf? BandCham can't outurn Starmie and Gyarados, but is designed to outurn +1Spe Adamant Gyarados with a Jolly nature...
Besides, people do say Rock has great coverage...what is the best attacking type if so? And why are there so many Steel-types in OU?

The RNG abuse method doesn't care about nature, so use the wrong nature stuff.

Details about it can be found in Wi-fi.

I personally don't use BandCham, so I don't know about that one.

Rock does have good coverage, but many types of moves are best in concert with certain other types. Examples would be Rock+Ground, Ice+Electric, and Fighting+Ghost.

Steel is a superb defensive type and is the only Dragon resist. In addition, many of them have amazing stats, abilities, and/or secondary types.

Medicham can't outurn stuff that it would hit with Thunderpunch, such as Starmie, so...plus, Rock+Fighting is excellent...any other opinions?
What about Ice? Is it a good type? Water, what type is the worst?

I was Shoddy'ing today, when I noticed that an opponent using Close Combat on my substitute got a defense drop. I assume this is supposed to be the case, but it's nice to be safe. Is that supposed to happen?

In any case it isn't covered in Smogon's Substitute (move) page - should it be? Looking at that page, it seems to aim to be rather thorough...

Ok so I've already went through over 50 gligar eggs looking for a timid one. My IVs on the parent pokemons are great. I'm trying to make a Pure Baton Passer Gliscor. If you look at the set's nature, it says Timid. I was wondering if it would be okay to use a Jolly Gliscor for the set instead. After all, the set doesn't have any attacks and Gliscor surely won't be using special attacks. Please reply!

Yeah, Jolly would be best, just in case you end up shifting it to being offensive later. I don't really know why that set recommends Timid (-Atk, +Spe), though I suppose it really doesn't matter since it doesn't have any attacks and thus either works.
