No I totally disagree with Pure Flying because , what would it's uses be? 1/2 damage from fighting then 1x damage?

Flying/Normal can do Flying-type attacks and use Normal attacks like Return which is also ONLY resisted by steel types , and both get STAB.
 
And if they had a pure flyier, Roost will become glitched
Maybe they could make the Polar Bear, evil, in a Dark/Ice combo, wait that is that weasel Weavile

Weaville takes hits like a wet paper bag.....That Polar bear would be pretty beast.

Flying types and Normal types have similar stabs...both are resisted by steel and rock. Flying is resisted by electric as well, while normal have no effect on ghosts. So having both normal and flying stab is kind of a waste of a moveslot. Flying would be more useful hitting grass and fighting types super effectively. Electric attacks are not that hard to handle as electric types get pretty shitty move pools =(

The only cool thing about normal types is that they usually get a wide movepool (thunderbolt, icebeam, flamethrower....or at least the punches)...but no flying/normal type will ever get these
 
I'm more concerned about the roost glitch theory (Sy123 said) for flying types, how could they make this work anyway for such Flying-only type?
 
Uh, pure Flying-types that use Roost simply don't have any weaknesses, resistances, or immunities. It's theorised that they become ??? types until Roost wears off.
 
They could just not give the pure Flying type Roost... Hardly a perfect solution, but it would avoid the issue.

If I was going to make a bulky Ice-type, I would make it pure Ice. Most other types just exacerbate Ice's weaknesses. Maybe give it Heatproof to minimize Ice's deficiencies.

A polar bear would be cool.
 
I hope they come out with another Snow Warning Pokemon, lol, would be aswesome if it looked like a traditional snow man.

lol @ Electrode evolving into a Master Ball. Hope it gets some ability that detonates it upon taking a critical hit 8D!
 
I want an actual Snowman pokemon. A pure Ice. Give it good stats and a great movepool. Snow Warning too as you said. It'd probably be terrible competitively but flavour-wise it'd look awesome.

That's the worst typing for a bulky anything. 70/80/80 are average defenses, but it'd get 1hko'd by any Fighting, Fire, Bug, Rock, or Steel attack. Weavile really needs its speed.
 
i understand why there is an ability that makes you immune to ground moves, but why aren't there abilities that make you immune to other types (NOT water absorb or stuff like that. I mean levitate, but for other types)

Well, I don't think Nintendo/GF can make creative names for those abilities.\

I think if they were going to make a Pure flying they would have done it already, they had so many pokemon they could have made pure flying but they didn't. I'm assuming they won't start now either.

Well they make sense like levitate your not in contact with the ground so therefore the ground (earthquake) should not cause damage. Correct? So theres the issue on making a believable name for 'said' ability. What could you call an ability that makes you immune to ghost? No Fear? No.... or Bug? Vaccine? Fail... So they might well make more like Levitate but theres always difficulties

It would have to make at least some sense. Levitate, Flash Fire, Volt Absorb/Motor Drive, Water Absorb/Dry Skin all seem to cover that.

Hey man, what do you have against Water Absorb? It's better than a Water immunity, isn't it? Speaking of which, a similar ability could work just fine for Poison-type moves, get distributed to the likes of Muk and a few other Pokemon including some new ones, and when Poison gets its appropriate buff, then it'll be like Poison's a real type again...!

Also, I know Muk has two abilities already, but do we really need to keep pretending Stench should be allowed to exist?
 
i think shuckle needs an evo (Y) it would be pretty sick if its evo had a tad bit more HP say base 90/100. It would give a new principle to OU and a new toy to use in stall. Heres hoping for that :P

Base 90 HP and base 200 defenses? Are you crazy? It won't be "a new toy to use in stall" because "new toys" typically don't completely demolish any sense of balance.
 
Shuckle's defenses are so horridly balanced actually, if an evo even re-distributed it's stats out and gave it like 80/10/200/10/200/5 and Recover it would work out great.

I haven't really noticed, unless its being hit by a SE attack from a 600BST attacker. Other than that HP + Def in the sand makes a pretty damn good wall LOL!
 
Guys, a pure Flying-type with Roost would not be glitched. -_- Obviously Nintendo would program a way around that. In fact, they probably already have. It's not that hard to figure out. The Roost glitch theory is not even remotely valid.

It's really not that hard to figure out (and I believe somebody earlier said it has been figured out, with a Smeargle with Conversion and Roost...which is just silly; why not just hack Roost onto Arceus and give him the Flying-type plate?), I know, but everyone just has the heebie-jeebies about it for no reason whatsoever. If GameFreak went through the trouble of programming a ???-type Arceus, which you're never going to see through any in-game means, why would they make Roost capable of causing glitches?

A Normal/Flying that uses Roost becomes Normal/???, and the ??? type's lack of any weaknesses or resistances effectively "removes" the Flying type for the turn, which is why people usually say it like that. Besides, why go into this ??? diatribe in every Smogon analysis with Roost in it? A pure Flying-type using Roost would become ???-type for half a turn, tops, and have no weaknesses or resistances, and absolutely nowhere on the screen would you have any indication that your Reshiram briefly turned into a ???-type. I fail to see the problem.
