Pokémon Minus - Street Pokémon with Mimic Glitch Allowed

Look, the goal of this would be to find a fun Mimic Glitch metagame. Nonetheless, I'm of the opinion that we should leave it be for a few months, to allow it to mature to a point where we can firmly say what degenerates it to the point of people not wanting to play it, instead of making a mistake similar to the recent ones almost made for Gen V OU, and banning things because people refuse to adapt.

Get the idea "let's ban Ubers they're broken" out of your heads if it's there. "True Street Pokémon" is Ubers, with no clauses, with mimic glitch allowed, and optimally with Wonder Launcher turned on, those this will likely be restricted purely to WiFi tournaments with this tier, since coyotte has expressed, iirc, that he doesn't want to implement it.

Mewtwo gets outsped by opponent Choice users though. Also, if your entire team is Mewtwo, a single fast choice user, like Deoxys-A, can just use a single move to sweep (or sleep) the entire team.

A single Deoxys-A isn't going to be able to stop a team full of Mewtwos with Extremespeed (or Fake Out for that matter). Besides, why wouldn't half the Mewtwos be Scarfed in the first place? Very, very few pokemon outspeed a Scarfed Mewtwo that can threaten an OHKO.

Also, Magic Coat exists, no reason not to use it. Same goes for Sleep Talk.

It is silly to even consider other pokemon in a way. Kyogre/Groudon/Mewtwo/Deoxys are pretty much the core of the metagame. If Deoxys-A and -N weren't rocking tissue paper defenses, it would be 6 Deoxys teams instead. But for now, I am pretty sure Mewtwo stands up as the best pokemon in the metagame.

Arceus @ Poison Plate
~ Sleep Talk
~ Extremespeed
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge/Waterfall/Recover

It may not have every move in existence in its arsenal, but it's still Arceus.

Yes, but they only need a single pokemon that can outspeed a scarfed Mewtwo and threaten an OHKO in order to sweep your entire team.

Even if Mewtwo is the "best" pokemon, it's rather foolhardy to have ONLY Mewtwo, as opposed to 3-4 Mewtwos + 3-2 supporters to beat Mewtwo counters.

Here's some interesting sets:

Computer Bug
Porygon-Z @ Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
*EVs are more defensive than usual*
-Conversion
-Butterfly Dance/Tail Glow
-Bug Buzz
-Heal Order/U-turn

Use Conversion to change your type to Bug, then buff your stats with either Butterfly Dance or Tail Glow. Now give your opponents headaches with Adaptability Bug Buzzes. In the last slot you can use Heal Order for recovery, particularly useful if you're using Butterfly Dance; but if you find yourself facing Heatran, or other pokemon that can take hits from your boost bug attacks, you can use U-turn to switch out Porygon.

Ultimate Hax Troll
Gliscor @ Bright-powder
*Max HP and Speed*
-Minimize
-Toxic Spikes/ Spikes/ Stealth Rock
-Whirlwind/Dragon Tail
-Earthquake/ Sacred Fire/ Night Burst/ Confuse Ray/ Screech/ Swagger/ Roost/ Leech Seed/ Ingrain/ Refresh/ Pyscho Shift

On your Sandstorm team bring out the Sky Scorpion, and use Minimize to raise your evasiveness by two; Sand Veil's evasion boost + Minimizes double evasion boost + Bright-powder = U mad?

After boosting your evasion to absurd levels, set up an entry hazard, and start phazing with either Whirl Wind or Dragon Tail. (I wouldn't reccomend Overhead Throw since it can't hit ghosts.) Watch everybody take residual damage from Sandstorm and hazards.

Last slot has ton of options:
-Earthquake to prevent you from being taunt-bait.

-Sacred Fire can hit Steel types who resist Dragon Tail & Stealth Rock, and are immune to Sandstorm & Toxic Spikes. Sacred Fire's high burn chance is also nice for inflicting status on Flying types, levitaters, and Poison types who aren't poisoned by Toxic Spikes.

-Night Burst is Zoroark's signature move for those of you who don't know, and it has a 50% chance of lowering accuracy. Plus you can play serious mind games with your opponent if you use Night Burst as your first move;
Your foe will probably think you're using Zoroark disguised as Gliscor, since Night Burst is can only be naturally learned by Zoroark and his pre-evo.

-Confuse Ray, Screech, and Swagger are other great ways of forcing switches. Plus if you have another team member setting up entry hazards, you can run Screech AND Swagger, which will cause your to pretty much your foes to knock out themselves.

-Roost, or any other 50 % recovery move, will allow you to take more hits, despite the fact you aren't going to be taking that many hits. Leech Seed both heals you and gives your opponent more residual damage. Ingrain gives you extra HP, but it's selling point is the ability to make Gliscor immune to phazing moves which are the main threat to this set.

-And if Gliscor somehow ends up with burn, paralysis, or poison you can either get rid of it with Refresh, or give it back to your opponent with Pyscho Shift.

Man Pokemon using Evasion hax will be scary in this metagame; but at least Gamefreak made two attacks that double in base power when an opponent uses Minimize: Stomp and a new Bug-type clone of stomp: Hard Roller. If Minimize becomes really common, I could see strong bugs like Scizor, Heracross, Genesect and Escavalier running Hard Roller to counter it.

Metronome and Assist actually cannot call Mimic. Mirror Move and Copycat can, though, adding Mesprit and Riolu (and then Lucario) to the list, while taking off Purugly and family and Chimchar. Chatot remains, however, due to its ability to learn Mirror Move.

Metronome and assist can indeed call mimic. It's not on the list of moves it cannot call. derp you are correct

Transform can still be called though as far as I understand.

I dunno aobut mirror move and copycat though.

Herbivorous Buffalon absorbs Spore and ExtremeSpeeds things like a shit.

EDIT: Overexcited. No afrobull learns Mimic. -___-

And no, Metronome & Assist won't call Mimic. I think Mirror Move can but will always fail.

EDIT: ninja'd ninja'd ninja'd.

Smogon's Mirror Move page said:
Mirror Move cannot replicate the following moves: Acupressure, Chatter, Counter, Curse, Doom Desire, Feint, Focus Punch, Future Sight, Helping Hand, Mimic, Mirror Coat, Role Play, Perish Song, Psych Up, Sketch, Spit Up, Struggle, and Transform.
Darn. It looks like only all gen 3 pokemon that can learn TMs and family members can abuse the glitch.

Mirror Move call Mimic but then failed because there's nothing to be Mimic'd. :/
And hell yeah, Serebii's attack dex says Mimic isnt Copyable by MM. :3

List of fully evolved pokemon+ability combinations illegal with Mimic (obviously DW is illegal):
Kangaskhan+Scrappy
Pinsir+Mold Breaker
Tauros+Anger Point
Shuckle+Gluttony
Stantler+Frisk
Miltank+Scrappy
Sableye+Stall
Illumise+Tinted Lens
Spinda+Tangled Feet
Tropius+Solar Power
Absol+Super Luck

Edit: I just had a very scary thought; Weavile with access to Icicle Drop, Crunch, Sucker Punch and Close Combat.

It would be interesting change. I support it, because that is what street Pokemon are about. Illegal using a legal method. Thats what makes street battling awesome, and thats why being able to use this glitch should be allowed for street battles.

People, this glitch only works if Pokemon can learn mimic.

Clefable @ White Herb
Defensive EV's
Bold/Magic Guard
~ Butterfly Dance
~ Substitute/Spore
~ Coil Around
~ Baton Pass

Would be much better if there were any Simple users.

People need to stop forgetting this.

Though I suppose Gliscor could do the same set very similarly.
Nuts! So yeah, here are all of the Pokemon with Sand Veil that can use this type of set:
-Sandslash
-Dugtrio
-Cacturne
-and, as you said: Gliscor, the Bulkiest of them. So I edited my post to make it a Gliscor moveset.

Symphony of Destruction
Chatot @ Life Orb
*Max Speed & Attack*
-Encore/Spore
-Tail Glow/ Shell Smash
-Aura Sphere/ Sword of Mystery/ Vacuum Wave
-Hurricane/ Areoblast/ Air Slash/ Chatter/ Shadow Ball/ Ice Beam

Switch into a Ghost, Ground, non-threatening status move, and force a switch with either Encore or Spore; and as you foe switches use Tail Glow/Shell Smash. Now sweep with Fighting + Flying special attacks; a combo only resisted by Zapdos & Rotom.

Aura Sphere has great PP and always hits, but Sword of Mystery is nearly as powerful, and hits the opponents physical defense. Vacuum Wave is for Priority, which is probably gonna be a big part of the meta-game.

Hurricane is the strongest special flying move, but should only be used on a rain team; Areoblast has great power & accuracy, but low PP; Air Slash has a good flinch chance and high PP; and I mentioned Chatter only for two reasons:
1) It can confuse the opponent
2) Chatter is the only move you can't sketch, meaning no other Pokemon can learn it, so it would be great for taunting your opponents:
"Wish you had this move? TOO BAD YOU CAN'T!"

If you're worried about Rotom and/or Zapdos, then you can ditch the flying moves for Shadow Ball or Ice Beam.

Arceus @ White Herb
Defensive EV's
Bold/Multitype
~ Butterfly Dance
~ Substitute/Spore
~ Coil Around
~ Baton Pass
You can't have Butterfly Dance & Coil Around on the same set, so you'll have to settle for Bulk Up.
Edit: I just had a very scary thought; Weavile with access to Icicle Drop, Crunch, Sucker Punch and Close Combat
Yeah Weavile gets alot of options for destructive sets, so I wrote this a few pages back:
Weavile @ Life Orb/ Wide Lens/ Focus Sash
*Nature A Lonely/ Hasty*
*Nature B & C Adamant/ Jolly*

-Shell Smash/ Gear Change/ Swords Dance/ Agility
-Ice Shard/ Icicle Drop/ Extreme Speed/ Endeavor
-Drain Punch/ High Jump Kick/ Close Combat/ Reversal
-Crunch
There are three ways to sweep:
A) Use Shell Smash to take advantage of Weavile's glass cannon nature: Use Shell Smash at full HP, avoid being KO'd via Focus Sash, now sweep with 200 Baser Power Reversal and STAB Crunch. Use either Ice Shard or Extremespeed for priority;
Weavile's absurd speed should allow his STAB Ice Shard to win battles against almost all

1+ priority moves like Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Mach Punch, Vacuum Wave, and Aqua Jet. But having a high speed 2+ priority Extreme Speed that can beat other Pokemon with Extreme Speed is arguably more important.

B)
While holding either a Life Orb or Leftovers, use Gear Change to boost Weavile's greatest stats; now commence the sweep with Close Combat/Drain Punch, Crunch, and either Ice Punch or Endeavor, the later being more useful when using the Life Orb.

C)Holding a Wide Lens, use either Swords Dance or Agility to Sharply raise either Attack or Speed, proceed to sweep with 100% accuracy Icicle Drop & Hi Jump Kick. In the final slot you can run Crunch to hit Surskit, Froslass, Shedinja, Pringles Squid, and all Water Psychics, the only Pokemon that resist both Ice and Fighting.

If you want to make Weavile even cooler, and/or you want to REALLY surprise and mess with your opponent, you can drop Crunch, and replace it either Thunder Punch, Wild Charge, Volt Tackle, or Lightning Strike, which will zap away the biggest threats to Weavile's Ice/Fighting sweep: Slowbro, Slowking, Starmie, and Jellicent. In fact the only pokemon that wouldn't die from Ice/Fighting/Electric is Shedinja. But you've undoubtedly have a RockHead Brave Bird/Head Smash Aerodactyl on your team, so you should be fine

And access to D/P/P/HG/SS. We knew that, we just like to get carried away...

Imagine Venusaur as a sun sweeper with Blue Flame and SolarBeam.
Imagine Zapdos with Ice Beam and Aeroblast.
Imagine Jolteon with Tail Glow and Ice Beam.
Imagine Gengar with Butterfly Dance and Sword of Mystery (when it is released)/Aura Sphere.
Imagine Gyarados with Brave Bird.
Imagine Dusknoir with Shadow Force.
Imagine Weavile with Icicle Drop, Sucker Punch, Crunch, Close Combat and/or Lightning Strike.
Imagine Electivire with Lightning Strike or Volt Tackle and possibly Icicle Drop.
Imagine Flareon with Sacred Fire or even worse, V-generate.
Imagine Speed Boost Yanmega with Tail Glow, Aeroblast and Bug Buzz, or Tinted Lens and replace Tail Glow with Butterfly Dance.
Imagine Pikachu not taking massive recoil damage because it has Lightning Strike. And then Dragon Dance (or Gear Change without Lightning Strike) to boost its lousy speed and Extremespeed.

Yeah, this metagame will be funnnnnnnnnnnnn. I so want to play it. Best part is that most existing ubers have nothing to gain as far as coverage goes, making it that much more competitive. Only one thing, I would want Sleep, OHKO and Evasion clauses, but I guess this is street pokemon.

Edit:
Fighting + Flying special attacks; a combo only resisted by Zapdos & Rotom.
Actually, Rotom, Zapdos, Rotom-S, Thundurus and Emolga. But you're only likely to see Zapdos as it's the only one with access to Mimic. Of course, with Aeroblast and Ice Beam it's a lot scarier...
