Since Volbeat/Ninjask often are leads (and even if not, you can just switch into them), you get up free rocks while they try to set up and then Roar the recipient or Rock Blast their subs. Due to its incredible bulk, Rhydon can check just about every physical attacker, too. I just love him!
Armaldo could probably run a similar set (SR/Spin/Rock Blast/whatever).
Or volbeat could encore you into stealth rocks and get a free +3 and sub to pass out as you switch

Gotta say, even with Pinsir being hyped up, there is a very underrated threat in the meta that's ready to take it by storm:

Musharna @ Leftovers
252 HP/252 Def/4 SpDef
Relaxed (0 Spe) / Synchronize

Calm Mind
Stored Power
Rest
Sleep Talk

Not a lot of common dark-types in the tier, and even though Pinsir walks all over this set, in general you need boosted SE STAB to clear his physical defense (and Pinsir can be trapped by Duggy, of all things). CM boosts its spdef to insane levels, and its physical bulk is very good already (436 HP/295 Def). Dual Screen support

Braviary only outspeeds a small handful of things Swellow doesn't, and Swellow has so much more natural power (Jolly Guts Swellow Facade hits 25% harder than Adamant Braviary Brave Bird)

While this is true, Braviary gets Rock Slide and Super Power, expanding its coverage. It's also a great revenge killer on numerous pokemon. Like Swellow. XD

@Kenshiro, I prefer Kadabra to Musharna, but Mush is a decent set-up sweeper if you get enough boosts in. I've had more success with Kadabra though, so I'm sticking with it instead. The set I've been using (and probably the one everyone else who's used Kadabra has used):

Kadabra

move1: Psychic
move2: Shadow Ball
move3: Hidden Power Fighting
move4: Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Magic Guard
nature: Timid
evs: 4HP/ 252 SpATK/ 252 Spe

I think this is the one that's actually on site. Whether it is or not though, it hits like a truck. I'm really surprised I haven't seen more of it. It can come in on any entry hazards and not take damage, possibly sub up if it gets an opening, and from there it abuses Life Orb boosted moves to punch holes in the entire metagame. What isn't an OHKO is usually a 2HKO, and if you were behind a sub, a 2HKO is still very likely.

Superpower would be the only reason to run Braviary > Swellow, imo. But even considering that, I prefer Swellow because switching moves (and its natural power, too) is really invaluable. I also don't like Scarfing SR-weak mons.

Sash Kadabra is cooler. Best revenge killer in the metagame no doubt. Except for Klinklang, cause the bastard has Gear Grind which hits multiple times <_<

You can't compare Kadabra to Musharna. Kadabra can't take a hit to save its life even with Eviolite, while Musharna does exactly the opposite. Musharna can actually use the Sp. Def boosts from Calm Mind while Kadabra still falls to a soft breeze.

You don't play them the same way either. You set up maybe one CM or a Sub on a forced switch, then start attacking, while Musharna accumulates a few CM boosts then goes on the offensive, and can stop to regain health while Kadabra has to lose coverage to run Recover (which hasn't been very good on t since RBY).

I know they aren't really comparable, I'd just rather use Kadabra if I'm going for a Psychic type on my team. Besides, Kadabra makes up for its terrible defenses with immunities to weather, hazards, and any other damage that isn't a direct attack. The differences between the two are bulk, attack method, and how they deal with status. I prefer Kadabra simply because it's powerful without setting up.
Really it just comes down to what people need. If you need a bulky set-up sweeper, Musharna is pretty good, although can be walled by Dark types. If you'd rather have something that can hit hard right out of the gate, Kadabra is fast and pretty strong, it's just not going to take a neutral hit unless it's behind a sub.

Or you could use Mesprit and have the best of both worlds.

Kadabra is surprisingly powerful, though; I really want to try it at some point.

I've wanted to try Mesprit too :) Just not sure what I would use it for. I think Kadabra is stronger and faster, and I'm loving Golem as my SR setter... Any ideas?

Or you could use Focus Sash Kadabra and then you don't have to be afraid of like 98% of the metagame. The only things it won't stop are Slowking and Klinklang, really. And then the occasional scarfer if it doesn't have much damage taken.

Life Orb Kadabra is really threatening and with a Sash it's just kind of weak... I think if / when I use it, it'll be SubLO. Sash Kadabra is a valid revenge-killer, but I don't really like it that much.

SubCM Mesprit is powerful but stupidly bulky and can set up on loads of stuff, which obviously sets it apart from Kadabra as a sweeper.

I have been rather dissappointed with KlingKlang. This may be because I have a bad set..

I really need an offensive steel type, so could someone give me a good set for the gears or a better Steel type...

Magneton is a great Special Attacker if it at least gets neutral hits, and it's surprisingly bulky with eviolite. Nice counter to Swellow and Klinklang too.

Klinklang@Leftovers
Adamant
Plus (or Minus)
244 hp/252 atk/12 spe
-Substitute
-Gear Shift
-Gear Grind
-Frustration

set up on anything, you outspeed min-speed 90's and max +nature base 50. rest in hp for bulk.

^thanks. I'll try both out and see if they help.

@Chaotica: I was swept by that Mursharna today. Was that you I fought? Or someone else with that set?

Max ATK. LO Pinser's X-Scissor did less than half!!

The ONLY problem with Klinklang (literally) is that it's walled by Magneton. That's literally the only thing in NU that reliably stops it (besides weird shit like Bastiodon). And that's why Magneton goes on every team I make with pretty much no exceptions. My hail team Lapras does decently against it I guess, but a crit on a Gear Grind or multiple Gear Grinds kill me while I can't kill it back reliably.

@King Serperior, no, it most likely wasn't. I haven't had any success with Musharna, although I will admit it looks really good. Maybe I just have bad luck with it.

And Magneton is boss. It's SpATK is higher than Kadabra's, and with Sub and Magnet Rise it can get annoying kinda fast.

I've had a few successes with Musharna, but I gave up on it when it died to a Hail team featuring BU Gurdurr with Payback and ended up picking Rest twice in a row with Sleep Talk.

Lol, I think I remember playing you actually :D

I had reflect up, otherwise there's no way musharna would take so little from an se stab attack. The set feels really good, though it trades the ability to rid itself of Toxic for the chance of being fucked by Sleep Talk. Its bulk, especially under screens is astounding...
