Ok my heracross went beyond level 37 while i was ev training it in emerald. can it still learn Close Combat via heart scale in D/P? I dont know i just have this feeling that pokes from last gen games wont learn the new moves if it has passed the level.

Just a note to anyone who reads that post, DO NOT BELIEVE IT.

The reason it says so is because munchlax is found in trees, not a certain route. I looked it up in my Pearl, and it also said area unknown, but we all know you can find it in-game.

I also just looked on Serebii, and it says you CAN find munchlax in both games.

Yes they are like very rare in honey trees, or the easier way is to breed a snorlax holding full incense, much easier if you have a gba game.

It should be able to.

No, I looked up combee, who I do have, and it showed where it was found. I looked up hoothoot, who I do not have, and it said "area unknown". I guess I was wrong about the "shows up in trees" part, but I was correct about the fact that you can find it ingame. Now that I've actually checked, it says "area unknown" because you [the player] have not caught one.

i just bred an adamant gible i plan on using for my team and i calculated its IV's.

it was LV 1and had a 15 in atk and a 20 in spd. i looked what the maximum was and i could supposedly get those IV's up to and they were 31. so my question is, is this true? i couldnt beleive it when i saw that i could get 4 of my gibles stats up to 31's in Iv's and i needed to know if it was true or not. thanks to anyone who answers this. It was the serebii IV calculator i got this from.

(bolded it would be easier to pinpoint the question, sounds dumb, but w/e.)

At level 1, IVs are next to impossible to determine. When the calculator said something like 6-31, it doesn't mean that you can get your IVs at 31. It just means that your IVs are somewhere in that range. Thus, a calculator that says you have 15-25 in speed does not mean you can make that speed 25. It means it's simply in that area.

Simply put, you can't "make" IVs higher on a Pokemon that already exists. Each stat is created with a set number in IVs, and that number is hard to determine when your stats are so low, like they are at level 1.

Level the Gible up to level 15 or so for a slightly more accurate reading from an IV calculator.

Hey, I have a two questions:

1. How much is black sludge recovery?
2. If I had an Absol with the trait Superluck and it used Nightslash (higher chance of crit), how much would the crit chance be for that attack?

Were you searching at night. Cause Hoothoot can only be found at night. I've found some in the great marsh and some routes, but I've never found any in honey trees.

If I use Focus Energy more than once, will it increase the crit-hit ratio more or is it a one time thing? Also, If I used Focus Energy, then get a Critical Hit, is my Crit ratio still increases or do I have to use Focus Energy again?

Is perfect speed (394) a must for a jolly aerodactyl? I have one with speed IV 31 but its attack IV is 19 and another one with IV 27 in speed but attack IV is 29. Nothing can outspeed a 390 aerodactyl other than another +speed nature pokemon with the same base speed, right?

iirc it's permanent until you switch out.

Where's that topic that advises EV training?

Like, what trainer is where and what they have, where the best spot to raise EVs is...etc.

NSider's ignoring me, so I came here. Say I use the Power Brace while I'm fighting a Bidoof. Will I get 4 Atk EVs and 1 HP EV, or only 1 HP EV? Do I have to fight something that gives Atk EVs to get the extra Atk EVs?

Is this a good EV distribution for my Electivire. I'm still having trouble with anything other than the standard 252/252/6 EV set.

PS - I'm planning on having my Electivire have the Choice Scarf

HP - 158
Atk - 252
Spd - 100

is there a list anyway showing the majority of pokemon ranks in base stats either total or in one stat?
Serebii has a list of the top 100, but was curious about say the speed bases of the pokemon from 200-300

I apologise in advance if this has already been asked, but can Spikes be used in conjunction with Stealth Rock? Would this be a viable strategy? Say, a Skarm with roar/whirlwind, SR and spikes?
