It does have Intimidate to kind of salvage its defense (though it still sucks) and Roost for longevity. Also, it has access to Stun Spore and Scald for status support, for what it's worth. It really really sucks stat-wise though.

Double confirmed. Just finished leveling mine up as well.Turns out Surskit does get Sticky Web at level 46. Went out to grind one all the way up there.
Don't forget though that the speed drop doesn't happen until AFTER the web goes up, and suicide leads are worthless with the defog buff. That's great, a base 60 Speed isn't TOO bad when your opponents are stuck with -1 speed.
Someone create a Masquerain topic!
It gets defog from Swanna.Galvantula has been the main topic of this thread for a while.
OT, Masquerain looks like a decent web setter. Intimidate and Roost actually makes it pretty bulky, Bug Buzz can hit through subs now, it gets access to a bunch of status moves, and even has Quiver Dance. It's pretty. Versatile. The only issue it has is hat horrible typing.
Did it get Defog in DPPt?
Showdown has many issues right now. Which is perfectly okay; with all these changes that we're only just discovering, we couldn't expect any simulator to be up-to-date yet. So any problems with Showdown are just temporary issues due to the natural difficulty of implementing all this so fast.Don't wanna rain on your guy's party or anything, but Sticky Web is illegal on Showdown. That's bad right?
People are overhyping this move A LOT.
Read my lips:
This isnt Stealth Rock.
This doesn't effect Levitate or Flying pokemons.
This wont define the meta in the way Stealth Rock does.
Lets take a look at the lastest Gen V PO Top 20 OU Pokemons:
Scizor
Dragonite
Ferrothorn
Politoed
Tyranitar
Jirachi
Starmie
Gengar
Garchomp
Heatran
Breloom
Latios
Rotom-W
Gliscor
Forretress
Espeon
Ninetales
Volcarona
Landorus-T
How many of them really care about the speed drop?
Starmie
Garchomp
Breloom (the nerft on Spore is probably enough to remove him from OU so I dont know if he really counts)
Volcarona (lets just ignore Quiver Dance)
Heatran (depends on the build, you can play him in a way you wont care about the speed drop)
Thats, what? 3/4 out of 20? Do you honestly think that is worth having a Galvantula, Shuckle, Ariados or Masquerain in your team?
I mean, if Im going to play with 1 less usefull pokemon I expect something really broken. Sticky Web seems good enought as a move but with that distribution its clear its way too overhyped.

Probably the same way it works with spikes, makes fliers vulnerable to it. Also realized Masq might be better than I thought. It has salvageable bulk, Defog for hazard control, Bug Buzz for an attack (that bypasses Subs now) and Roost to go with the web. Anyone have an idea for an EV Spread for it?Masquerain is actually significantly more bulky than any other user atm.
Stat wise it is less physicall bulky than Ariados who had the better bulk over Galvantula, but after intimidate Masquerian wins out, (was better than galvantula in that regard anyway) and is more specially bulky than both of the others anyway.
EDIT: How does Gravity effect the Levitator and Flier immunity?
Calm 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD?Probably the same way it works with spikes, makes fliers vulnerable to it. Also realized Masq might be better than I thought. Wasn't sure if running speed would be worth it since it is at the weird base 60 slot (like Aegislash), so it could outpace faster psychics (notably starmie) and Bug Buzz them with the Web down.Calm 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD?
