I've been messing around with this and I can't get it working for me...
So I have 3 connections right now. I have my Local Area Connection. I have my wireless card in my laptop (Wireless Connection 1) and my Wireless USB (Wireless Connection 9). When I create the Instacheck network it calls it Wireless Connection 10.
I'm assuming my Local Area Connection should be my shared connection. What's the other connection (the one in the dropbox)? Also, should I disconnect wirelessly from the internet, or does that matter. (Like right now, Wireless connection 1 is connected to the internet, but 9 is not).
Cool. And the OS you're running, is it Windows 7 64-bit?
I figured out that if it says No there, then I don't think you have a chance of getting this to work with your current wifi adapter, unless a new driver would update it.
After i use the Instacheck hotspot i can get past the Access Point after a few times but it won't let go to the Internet do you know what might be wrong?
Do any of your connections look like this where it says you are connected via Ethernet and Wireless to the same network? That is how I was able to get it to work.

To almost fully replicate the comfort of RNG abuse shortly after only a month in this brave new world. I am truly impressed.
Probably needless to mention, i have to line in with those requesting help from others. As my specific issue doesn't seem to be mentioned around other common gathering spots for this topic, i am trying to put my question here. Desired result is me successfully connecting to the virtual hotspot from the game and monitor data from the Pokémon/Eggs i offer for trade, for those that may attempt to deconstruct my request.
I already managed to successfully install Instacheck, have connected my notebook PC through an ethernet cable while writing, the regular Wi-Fi connection disabled and enabled internet connection from external devices for the LAN connection as well as the virtual hotspot. The virtual hotspot is accessed by the 3DS, but the attempt to connect to the internet fails every time.
Oddly enough, i was able to connect to the internet within the connection test earlier today. However, access to the Internet within the game itself was not possible. The Wi-Fi connection to the router was also active at that time and the default search engine accused me of sending undesired queries.
Many thanks in advance,
Impergator

Yeah. It does. I'm using the Local Area Connection as the Shared Network and the Wireless Network as the other network. Unfortunately, the DS isn't connecting to the internet still on the test. I don't think the DS is the problem as my phone also fails to connect to the internet when using the instacheck network.

tried this cause i may have gotten this on my first attempt, but when i type ncpa.cpl nothing opens up.@ Ranmura go to the search in the start menu and time ncpa.cpl <- this will open your adapter settings. Make sure you have the virtual network enabled.

Hopefully you guys don't mind, but I made a tutorial on how to set this up. I was having a lot of problems with it too, but I got it all sorted out.
Try to enable it in CMD with 'netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow' and tell me what error you getGot a question so I have everything downloaded and when I try to open instacheck it says "virtual router has stopped working" so I went to cmd and typed the WLAN show driver and mine doesn't even have the spot for hosted network is it just not compatible at all?

I had the same issue and restarted my computer and now it works. But I noticed I had to re-enable hosted networks in CMD when I turned it back on...yeah i got to that part now, and it shows the option to disable, so im assuming its enabled. still cant get the 3ds to connect to that instacheck hotspot.
Oh - so it's not a typo? My mistake! Also, see the cmd below for why I know I can't use a virtual adapter. It IS the miniport adapter you're referring to, yeah? The virtual one?[quote="Pokemon Breeder Sophie, post: 4984797,
This program runs off a virtual adapter, so if your network card can't support it, then you might not be able to do this. How do you know your network card can't support it? that just seems odd to me, you may have to just enable it in the cmd prompt
Update: My issue is resolved, just reset my computer and now its working somehow -__- lol
