Blissey sometimes runs flamethrower to beat scizor. Not silly or stupid at all.

You didn't even mention the Cheri Berry Blissey? I faced a team that had a Sitrus Berry on every single one of their Pokemon. What is this, the Veilstone Gym? Oh, and they also had Brick Break Scizor. Why weren't they using Superpower, you ask? Well, actually, they were. They had both Brick Break AND Superpower. Whyyyyyyy...?

Currently it isn't covered by Endless Battle Clause, though some parts may be added I'm sure (the Gothitelle can only do that with the help of Entrainment Durant though.) Honestly though, I'm not sure how much of this could have been avoided by the opposing player playing smarter.

  • The first sign that the non-troll player was doing something wrong was when his Toxic Orb Gliscor started taking damage from it. Clearly you're in for a show then.
  • Pokemon with Truant have a really gigantic weakness to exploit. You know, their defining ability? It needs to loaf every other turn. You could switch around him, and get something in that could deal with Durant. Sableye was there, could it not Prankster Taunt it? Prankster T-Wave even? Or, if he had a single Pokemon with Protect, the Durant literally couldn't touch it. It wasn't surviving another SR switch in when it got off that last Entrainment.
  • Entrainment Durant isn't what I'd call common. You should know something is up when you see it. You see it with a trapper then something is definitely up.

It was definitely, like the original Endless Battle combo, against the spirit of the game. I think you as a player are given far more leeway in stopping the "strategy," before it gets rolling because the Durant needs to get Entrainment off without you switching or KO'ing it first. Gothitelle couldn't pull that stunt without the support of a Pokemon that, quite frankly, sucks.

I'd be fine with seeing this new combo go, but I'm leaning against it being a necessity in the same way it was with Heal Pulse.

Okay, that is stupid. However, Brick Break is the best option as a Fighting-type move for prebank Scizor, making it not silly if it is on the OU (beta) ladder. However, this was on the Pokebank OU (beta) ladder, as I can tell by the fact that Superpower is gen V only.

Gliscor was hurt by the poison because it had Truant.

Turn 7
The opposing Latias used Reflect!
Reflect raised the opposing team's Defense!

Tyranitar used Pursuit!
It's super effective! The opposing Latias lost 18% of its health!

Latias's wish came true!
The opposing Latias restored HP using its Leftovers!
Turn 8

The opposing Latias used Defog!
Tyranitar's evasiveness fell!
The opposing team's Reflect wore off!
The pointed stones disappeared from around the opposing team!

Reflect + Defog. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have discovered the most advanced metagame strategy yet.

Watching the first battle was more painful than stepping on a Lego Brick. In the name of all dogpoop in the world DON'T USE SPECIAL ATTACKS AGAINST BLISSEY.
Anyway, if you watched Lumiose Station's tournament stream: Attract Gigalith (because screw Ampharos, I'm the most fabulous Pokemon in the world!), Fire Blast Talonflame (I don't want my half-cooked Thanksgiving turkey to be hurt by recoil!), and many more. It was very painful to watch.

I didn't even know it was possible to lose to a team with nothing but a Blissey left that only does between 3% and 20% to each of your team members with its only attack when you still have 3 Pokemon left, one of which can pass Wishes and set up Light Screen and the other two of which are physical attackers that can easily 2HKO it, even if you manage to stall it out of PP for its one attacking move. Huh. I guess some people are just really, really good at losing. Oh, and hey, don't diss Torkoal! It just so happens to be the 16th best (out of 19) fully evolved Rapid Spinner in the game, even outclassing Delibird in the "spinner with a weakness to Stealth Rock" niche.

Why people don't pay attention to magic bounce is beyond me.

-Ambipom. Seriously stop using it
-MEGA aggron with rock polish/head smash

-Setting up against a whirlwind skarmory

-A charmeleon. Wut?????-_-
-AGUAV berry on every thing. And i thought it couldn't get worse than sitrus berry on everything
I think I've noticed something... that almost all of the Spanish speaking players on PS suck. Anyone with me?

This dude got his ASS SWEPT by a belly drum Azumarill. Azu was at 2% after drumming, so he could've easily stopped the sweep by tanking an aqua jet with his Haxorus and going for earthquake, but he goes for DRAGON CLAW. What.

Also, brick break Excadrill. And non-mega Charizard, unless he was running two megas. And no rough skin on Garchomp, which also could've stopped Azumarill's sweep.

Well, I barely saw anything silly on the ladder today. Just...

- Hidden Power on a Mienshao, which apparently had nothing better than U-Turn to hit my Latias with. Also, no Regenerator, or Fake Out.
- This same person decided to spam Amoonguss's Spore, Giga Drain, and Sludge Bomb at said Latias. He would have PP stalled himself out if one of his Sludge Bombs hadn't poisoned it.
- Some guy who requested the Battle Timer during lead selection, and then proceeded to time out before selecting his first move.

Mienshao often runs hidden power ice to get past pokemon that would otherwise wall it, such as Gliscor, since its special attack is decent enough to use it. Nothing odd about that. And there is nothing even remotely silly about not running fake out; as its damage output is very poor and it takes up a valuable moveslot that could be used for something better.

Well, I guess I don't really know Mienshao sets then, /derp. And, on reflection, it also gets Reckless as an ability, which I believe is also viable, so I guess the only "silly" thing about it would be using hidden power ice on a Latias with Light Screen up and nothing (like, say, Gliscor) on my team that he could have been aiming for (and even then, he did realize that it was unproductive to do so and stopped after he did it the first time). My bad, I'll try to check on stuff like that in the future.
