Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

I picked up the Shiny Charm at last yesterday and got straight to breeding. I've got 150 unhatched eggs sitting in my boxes right now, all SC+MM (JP Ditto + US Honedge), so I figured, why not contribute? I'll post back once I finish hatching them.

Done, got a shiny at #87. Going for another 150.

i'd be willing to try at least 1,000 eggs, will update with every 50 eggs

1-50 - No Shiny
51-100 - No Shiny
101 - 150 - No Shiny
151 - 200 - No Shiny
201 - 250 - No Shiny
251 - 300 - No Shiny
301 - 350 - No Shiny
351 - 400 - No Shiny
401 - 450 - No Shiny
451 - 500 - No Shiny
501 - 550 - No Shiny
551 - 600 - No Shiny
601 - 650 - No Shiny
651 - 700 - No Shiny

I thought you guys would be interested in seeing this. My daughter and I have been researching the rate in the friend safari with and without shiny charm:

www.diyode.com/2014/02/shiny-charm-and-friend-safari-preliminary-data/

(tldr: it looks like the shiny charm does not increase the rate in the friend safari - we have logged about 30,000 encounters so far)
This is so great! I too created a machine to shiny hunt on my Pikachu 3DS! (I didn’t want to solder wires either) I wouldn’t mind contributing to this data. I have the Shiny Charm.

Cool! How did you make yours - is it similar?

In terms of data, what I am recording is 100-trial checkpoints, where we note how many shinies were in those 100 encounters. If you are able to do that, then we could graph your results in the same way.

So our data looks something like this:

Yes, they are pretty similar. My machine is a flat chunk of wood with 2 motors (Servos) on the left and the bottom. The left one moves the character left to right in the Friend Safari to get into encounters, and the bottom one is used to run. There is an optical sensor on the bottom screen that times how long it takes for the FIGHT symbol to come up. Because of the shiny Pokemon's extra Sparkle animation, it prolongs the time longer than normal Pokemon, thus stopping all movement and then starts sounding off an alarm until someone comes and catches the shiny. Any 3DS XL (with no case) can simply slide into the slot. Then you just turn it on, and it will work its magic! There is also a little screen attached to the chunk of wood that keeps count of how many encounters its done since the last shiny. I've named this machine Shi-Fi and it's found me more than 100 Shiny Pokemon!

I would send a video, but I dont want to post it on my YouTube account XD

Who keeps messing with the spreadsheet order? It's pretty annoying. Updated my post on page five.

i am absolutely horrible at keeping track of how many eggs i'm hatching. i lose count, forget to tally, get confused, etc.

What I do is I just keep one pokemon from each batch and put it in my PC. Then you can count how many you got x5 and you know.

HI all. I decided to contribute. I have the shiny charm,
Breeding 6 IV Corean Ditto with 5 IV Female Bulbasaur (ITA).
300 eggs = no shiny

I'm sorry to say, but at 100k eggs, I think we'll have to stop. There has been a bunch of immature kids over the past day who just seem to be incapable of minding their own business, and think it's funny to mess with our hard work. It's been really annoying, and it's a pain for me to continually go back and fix these ***hole's edits (I just find it really annoying).

I've got the shiny charm and I'm breeding a Japanese Eevee with a French Ditto. First batch will be 100 eggs. I'll report in once they're done.

updates post #650
PS: i have no idea how to use the doc like moving stuff and so on.
i just put my data in row 119 to not screw things up :X.

I just got the shiny charm! I'll pledge 100 eggs.
Edit: 100 eggs- 0 shinies... I guess that's not too surprising.
