Overview
########

Exeggcute's unique Grass / Psychic typing is both a blessing and a curse, granting it seven weaknesses and six resistances. It has access to a great ability that works well on sun-based teams, which grants it a myriad of recovery options that allow it to have a niche in Little Cup. It has also good Defense and Special Attack, allowing it to function offensively and defensively. Exeggcute does have several limiting factors, however. It is beaten by the ever-present Knock Off and U-turn, its lackluster Speed and Special Defense leaves it prey for most special attackers, and it is somewhat outclassed by other Pokemon such as Trubbish and Cottonee because they have more reliable recovery.

Harvest Abuser
########
name: Harvest Abuser
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Sleep Powder / Leech Seed
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Psychic / Hidden Power Fighting / Hidden Power Fire / Protect
ability: Harvest
item: Oran Berry
evs: 196 Def / 196 SpA / 80 SpD / 36 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Substitute gives Exeggcute the ability to safely abuse Harvest, giving it essentially a nearly-unlimited supply of Oran Berries. Sleep Powder allows a free Substitute and also disables a single Pokemon for a short period of time. Predicting a switch is also a good opportunity to use Sleep Powder, set up a Substitute and attack, or set up a Leech Seed. Alternatively, Leech Seed can be used to wear down walls and provide even more recovery on top of Oran Berry and Giga Drain. Giga Drain provides a way of dealing damage while also providing more recovery, and is the primary STAB attack. Psychic is the secondary STAB move and can deal more reliable damage to Fighting- and Poison-types that may want to use Knock Off, U-turn, or a Poison-type move. Hidden Power Fighting or Hidden Power Fire can be used as a way to hit Pawniard and other Steel-types on the switch or while behind a Substitute, as otherwise it would effortlessly switch in and OHKO it with Knock Off. Additonally, Hidden Power Fire hits Bug- and Grass-types for super effective damage, namely Ferroseed which otherwise walls it. Protect is another option, but should only be used in conjunction with Leech Seed to safely restore more HP.

Set Details
========

The Speed EVs allow Exeggcute to Speed tie with Tirtouga before a Shell Smash. The 80 SpD EVs boost Exeggcute's poor Special Defense, giving it some much needed bulk. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Defense and Special Attack to bolster its two best stats. The combination of Harvest and Oran Berry gives Exeggcute unlimited recovery as long as it isn't hit with a move that can KO it while a Substitute isn't up.

Usage Tips
========

Exeggcute needs sun to function effectively as it gives a 100% chance of recovering its Oran Berry. It appreciates a slow pivot, which allows it to get into battle unscathed. Exeggcute likes to set up Substitutes on Pokemon that typically cannot harm it like opposing Chinchou or a Pokemon that is inclined to set up, like Tirtouga or Omanyte. Finally, Leech Seed is a great recovery option, and it can force a switch, in which it should take the opportunity to use Substitute. It works well in tandem with Exeggcute's other recovery options, such as Giga Drain and Oran Berry with Protect, for extra healing.

Team Options
========

Sun support is necessary to abuse Harvest. Vulpix can provide that support with Drought and can take Bug- and Ice-type moves well, while Exeggcute takes Water- and Ground-type moves for Vulpix in return. Pokemon that can come in on Pawniard and absorb Knock Off are great partners. It also appreciates Stealth Rock, so a hazard setter like Onix or Dwebble is a good teammate. Additionally, Dwebble has access to Spikes which can further aid in racking up chip damage.

Other Options
########

Exeggcute has several other viable options, but typically they are outclassed or just ineffective. It can utilize a Chlorophyll set, but is generally outclassed by Pokemon like Deerling, Bulbasaur, and Bellsprout. Sludge Bomb is a way to deal with Cottonee and Spritzee. Synthesis can provide a quick and easy way to regain HP, but Exeggcute has so many other recovery options that it is not worth the turn or moveslot. Toxic can wear down other Pokemon faster in the long run than Leech Seed, but doesn't provide the recovery that Leech Seed does. Stun Spore can cripple opponents for the match, but doesn't give Exeggcute a chance to immediately set up properly like Sleep Powder. Starf Berry can be run over Oran Berry on the Harvest set to boost repeatedly and turn Exeggcute into a formidable sweeper on its own, but if you don't get the right stat boosts all the effort will be a waste. Similarly, Lum Berry can be used with Rest to provide instant full recovery in a single turn multiple times; however, this gives the opponent an opportunity to get a check in safely when it could be Leech Seeded instead or Exeggcute could have set up a Substitute. Leaf Storm can be run as a harder hitting attack, but the Special Attack decrease afterwards is not appreciated. Trick Room in conjunction with Explosion can be used as a nice way to get it up and bring a Pokemon in unscathed, but like all Trick Room setters it should only be used on a dedicated Trick Room team. Lastly, dual screens can be set up reliably due to Exeggcute's high Defense.

Checks & Counters
########

**Vullaby**: Vullaby is immune to Sleep Powder, resists both of Exeggcute's STAB moves, takes nothing from HP Fighting, and hits back super effectively with a STAB move, namely Knock Off.

**Dark-types**: Pokemon like Houndour, Vullaby, and Pawniard all take little to no damage from Giga Drain, and are immune to Psychic. They force a switch or KO with most of their moves, while Exeggcute is virtually helpless without Hidden Power Fighting. Houndour also has access to Early Bird which allows it to wake up faster and KO quickly with a STAB move.

**Knock Off**: Not only is Knock Off super effective against Exeggcute, it also permanently gets rid of the Oran Berry that makes Harvest usable, and by extension Exeggcute.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Fletchling, Archen, and Doduo can KO with STAB Acrobatics or Brave Bird, but must beware of taking damage on the switch from Psychic.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Houndour, Ponyta, and Larvesta can take advantage of the sun that is set up for Exeggcute, and can usually OHKO with a STAB move.

**Bug-types**: Any Bug-type will most likely KO Exeggcute due to its 4x weakness. Exeggcute also fears U-turn, a common pivot move on Pokemon like Mienfoo, Bunnelby, and Larvesta.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types like Misdreavus or Drifloon can come in on Exeggcute and then use Substitute to avoid Leech Seed and Sleep Powder. They can then proceed to set up, or just KO with a STAB Shadow Ball.

**Grass-types**: Without Hidden Power Fire, Grass-types wall Exeggcute, as they can't be put to sleep or Leech Seeded, and Exeggcute cannot survive many super effective moves. However,(AC) Grass / Poison-types like Foongus and Bulbasaur should be wary of Psychic.

**Sound-based Moves and Infiltrator**: Moves that go through Substitute, such as Noibat's Air Slash or Hurricane, Zubat's Brave Bird or U-turn, and Joltik's Bug Buzz, albeit rare, will hurt a lot.

  • i'm not entirely sure if you should go bulky or more speed
  • no mentions of grass-types that wall you if you don't run hp fire

IMO take out Leaf Storm as a slash and mention it in OO instead. Exeggcute prefers to be a weird wall, where it can consistently take hits and slowly wear the opponent down. Leaf Storm only makes it harder for it to wear things down, especially in the long run.

Mention in Overview how it is kind of outclassed by Trubbish as an annoying Pokemon (they do very similar jobs, as they rely on constant recovery and as a pivot).

Swith out Nosepass with Dwebble in Team Options. TBH I would rather not promote Nosepass, as it has a very specific niche, and Dwebble is usually a much better option. Dwebble also has access to BJ+Strudy as well as Spikes.

LOL I LIKE STARF BERRY IS THAT RELEASED??????????

QC 1/3 i like that starf berry set in OO imma test it

They seem fine to me. Although if other QC members want to weigh in as well thats good.

you mention that exeggcute likes sun support in both usage tips and team options. remove the mention in usage tips

Not entirely convinced of the EVs, I usually run max SpA and max Spe. Can you explain why these are your choice?

the set is more of a stally/healing one than a fast one, and it appreciates the bulk more to help it. It only hits like 14 speed max, what would this be to outspeed specifically? Heysup

Min Speed Mienfoo, some timburr, some honedge, speed tie chinchou, outpaces Fletchling's U-turn. I just don't especially see the need for bulk if its behind a sub. If no Speed, at least max SpA should be used imo.

you actually need a final QC check after writing up. here it is:

mention uturn weakness in overview
you mention it has 2 great abilities in the overview but only 1 has a set, so it's not worth mentioning that - remove it
mention hp fire hurts grasses which is good because leech seed+sleep powder immunity in moves section - particularly ferro
Vullaby cannot be put to sleep - this isn't technically true, change it to 'vullaby is immune to sleep powder'
mention houndour gets early bird which helps against sleep powder

QC 4/3

lots of grammar issues and a few odd sentence structures here. if you could do your best making a couple of things more clear and rechecking your grammar, it would help GP immensely.

change the thread prefix to [copyediting] after this

I fixed most of it, thank you Rowan. Altough I'm unsure about mentioning early bird houndour, as flash fire is far more common. Early bird also doesn't help much as it still gets put to sleep, allowing exeggcute to set up. Not sure about mentioning this.

Flash Fire 80.696% | Early Bird 16.178% | Unnerve 3.127%

it's still reasonably common so trace pory doesn't wall it. houndour with early bird will either wake up turn 1 or turn 0 so it can just destroy the sub. deffo mention

Overview
########

Straight out of the first Generation 1, Exeggcute made it's debut in red and blue RBY as one of the only two Psychic(add space)/(add space)Grass dual type in the game. This is also the case for Little Cup, as Celebi is not present. It's typing is a blessing and a curse,(AC) by giving it a walloping 7 weaknesses, yet but also 6 six resistsances. It has access a great ability that works well on sun-based teams, as well as having a myriad of recovery options that allow it to have the retain its niche that it has in Little Cup. It has both good Defense and good Special Attack, allowing it to be able to go either offensive or defensive. Exeggcute does have several limiting factors, however. It is beaten by Knock Off in every way possible, which just so happens to be everywhere nowadays. It's is also very weak to the common U-Turn, which is common as a move to gain momentum. It's lackluster Speed and Special Defense leaves it prey for most special attackers, and it is somewhat outclassed by other stally HP glutton oriented Pokemon such as Trubbish and Cottonee.

Moves

The main move of the set is Substitute, which gives Exeggcute the ability to abuse the Harvest and Oran Berry combo to be a force to be reckoned with. Sleep Powder allows a free Substitute and also disables a single Pokéemon keep consistent for a short period of time. Predicting a switch is also a good opportunity to use Sleep Powder, to get off a set up a Substitute and KO what?, set up a use Leech Seed, or straight attacks you had a few errors in parallelism, so I had to change your sentence a little bit. Alternatively, Leech Seed can be used to wear down walls and provide even more recovery on top of Oran Berry and Giga Drain, and because of new mechanics in Generation six,(AC) 6 it hits everything Sleep Powder would be hitting. Giga Drain provides a way of dealing damage while also providing more recovery, and is the primary STAB attack. Psychic is the secondary STAB move and can deal great amounts of damage to Fighting-(add hyphen)types and Poison-(add hyphen)types that may want to stick around to use Knock Off, U-Turn, or a Poison-type move. Hidden Power Fighting/Fire or Hidden Power Fire can be used as a way to nail Pawniards and other Steel-(add hyphen)types on the switch or while behind a Substitute, as otherwise it would effortlessly switch in and beat it with Knock Off. Additonally, Hidden Power Fire is boosted from by the sun, and hits Bug- and Grass-types for super effective damage,; namely Ferroseed,(RC) which otherwise walls it. Protect is another option, but should only be used in conjunction with Leech Seed to buy some extra sap recovery turns.

Set Details
========

The Speed EVs bump Exeggcute's Speed up just enough to Speed tie with the common Tirtouga set before a Shell Smash. The 80 SpD Special Defense EVs bring up Exeggcute's poor Special Defense, and therefore gives it some much needed bulk. The rest of its EVs are dumped into Defense and Special Attack to support its two best stats. As for the nature, Modest is for max Special Attack so allows Exeggcute to reaches 16 Special Attack. The combo combination of Harvest and Oran Berry gives Exeggcute infinite recovery,(AC) as long as it isn't hit with a move that can KO it while Substitute isn't up.

Usage Tips
========

Exeggcute likes the sun,(RC) as it gives giving it a 100% chance of recovering its Berry, and getting up sun is one of the main things needed to make Exeggcute as useful as it can be. It appreciates a slow pivot,(RC) which allows it to get into battle unscathed. Exeggcute likes to set up Substitutes, on Pokemon that typically cannot harm it,(AC) like such as opposing Chinchou,(AC) or a Pokemon that is inclined to set up, like Tirtouga or Omanyte. Finally, Leech seed gives great recovery, and it can force a switch, in which you should take the opportunity to use Substitute. It is used works well in tandem with other recovery, such as Giga Drain and Oran Berry with Protect, for providing extra leeching Leech Seed turns.

Team Options
========

Sun support is a great way to allow Exeggcute to reach it's maximum potential, and as it allows it to be helpful by getting Harvest going. In this case, Vulpix is nice to provide that support with Drought. Vulpix also takes Bug- and Ice-type moves well, while Exeggcute takes Water- and Ground-type moves well, to so they compliment each other nicely. Pokéemon that can come in on Pawniard (or other Knock Off-using Pokémon users in general) and threaten it, such as Mienfoo and Timburr,(AC) help immensely. It also appreciates Stealth Rocks, so something like Onix or Dwebble helps it a good amount. They also help beat its Fire weakness, Bug weakness, and Flying weakness., like Larvesta and Vullaby you have this and it makes the sentence sort of choppy. Additionally, Dwebble has access to Spikes as well, to give giving Exeggcute more entry hazard support.

Other Options
########

Exeggcute has several other viable options, but typically they don't work as well as the main set. It can utilize a Chlorophyll set, but is generally outclassed by things like Deerling, Bulbasaur, and Bellsprout. Sludge Bomb is a way to deal with Cottonee and Spritzee, if you don't already have a good counter, as it can hit it with a high damage roll do you mean OHKO?. Synthesis can provide a quick and easy way to regain HP, but there are so many other ways to do it automatically that there's no point in doing it manually what are you trying to say here?. Toxic can wear other Pokéemon down faster in the long run than Leech Seed, but doesn't provide the recovery that Leech Seed does. Stun Spore can cripple opponents for the match, but unlike Sleep Powder doesn't give Exeggcute a chance to immediately set up properly. Starf Berry can be run over Oran Berry on the Harvest set to start boosting stats like crazy to turn Exeggcute into a formidable sweeper on its own, but if you don't get the right stat boosts all the effort will be a waste. Similarly, Lum Berry can be used with Rest to provide instant full recovery on a moments notice numerous times. However, this leaves the opponent an opportunity to get a check in safely when it could be seeded or Exeggcute could have set up a Substitute. Leaf Storm can be run as a harder hitting attack, though the Special Attack decrease is not appreciated. Trick Room in conjunction with Explosion can be used as a nice way to get it up and bring something in unscathed while possibly also taking something out, but like all Trick Room setters it should only be used on a dedicated Trick Room team. Lastly, Lightt Screen and Reflect can be set up reliably due to Exeggcute's high Defense.

Checks & Counters
########

**Vullaby**: Vullaby is immune to Sleep Powder, resists both STABs moves, takes nothing little damage from Hidden Power Fighting,(AC) and returns with super-it's just a space in between effective damage with a STAB move, namely Knock Off.

**Dark-types**: Pokemon like Houndour, Vullaby, and Pawniard all take little to no damage from Giga Drain,(RC) and are immune to Psychic. They force a switch or KO with most of their moves, while Exeggcute is virtually helpless without Hidden Power Fighting. Houndour also recieves receives Early Bird which allows it to wake up fast from sleep and KO quickly with a STAB move.

**Knock Off**: Not only is Knock Off super-(add space)effective against Exeggcute, but it permanently gets rid of the Oran Berry that makes Harvest what it is. Most users of Knock Off can outspeed and cripple Exeggcute.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Fletchling, Archen, and Doduo, and others can KO with STAB Acrobatics or Brave Bird, but they must beware of taking damage on the switch from Psychic.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types take advantage of the sun that is set up for Exeggcute, can and usually OHKO with a STAB move. Good options include Houndour, Ponyta, and Larvesta.

**Bug-types**: Any Bug-type with a Bug move,(RC) will most likely KO Exeggcute because of the quad 4x weakness. Exeggcute also fears U-turn, a common pivot move,(AC) on so Pokemon like Mienfoo, Bunnelby, and Larvesta can KO with a U-turn.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Misdreavus or and Drifloon can come in on Exeggcute, use Substitute to be unaffected by Leech Seed and/or Sleep Powder. They can then proceed to set up,(RC) or just KO with a STAB Shadow Ball.

**Grass-types**: Without Hidden Power Fire, Grass-types wall Exeggcute really this is technically acceptable but I would use "very" well. They can't be put to sleep by the use of Sleep Powder,(AC) or are not affected by Leech Seeded, and Exeggcute cannot do much if they have a super effective move. Grass(add space)/(add space)Poison types, like Foongus and Bulbasaur,(AC) should be wary of Psychic, however.

**Sound Moves and Infiltrator**: Substitute can't save Exeggcute from the new sound-based move mechanics or Pokéemon with the ability Infiltrator, so things like Noibat's Air Slash or Hurricane, Zubat's Brave Bird or U-Turn, and Joltik's Bug Buzz, albeit rare, will hurt a lot.
There were quite a few things wrong here. I would recommend looking at the Spelling and Grammar Standards next time.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the accent over the e is acceptable, but there is a specific thing you need to do so it works correctly when this is HTMLed

Sorry this took so long. Also you may need to combine Vullaby into the Dark-type section.
