Completely usable, bred one one myself. Slow to take as many hits in Shield Stance as much as possible, and you can use Swords Dance with it. Special Aegislash has higher base power moves, and doesn't mind Burn/intimidate, but a +2 Aegislash hits really, really hard.

Pretty much everything is afraid of a +2 Shadow Claw/Iron Head + Shadow Sneak combo (or +4 if you use Weakness Policy). You could also go Mixed with the Policy and use Shadow Ball / Iron Head / King's Shield / Shadow Sneak or Sacred sword. Aegislash can do a lot.
