No, I ought to ask him. Showdown has it though. If not I will replace with Fire Punch / Iron Head.Did he prove it with a picture?

Cubone needs a boosting move to function without Pass support. I will mention your set in OO.I'm agreeing with unitard. Replace Play Rough with Knock Off. To be able to remove eviolites from its main counters as well as hitting Misdreavus, Gastly, Bronzor etc. is amazing. the things that play rough hits super effectively are still hit hard by a neutral EQ (fight+dark types basically) but knock off is so much more useful for Cubone and actually does give it perfect coverage.
Also, just remove Belly Drum in my opinion. Cubone will just get KOd straight after setting up, it doesn't have the speed or any priority moves to be able to pull it off. I even think Swords Dance is a bit iffy, so it'd be nice if that was just slashed with another coverage move. Fire Punch ohkoes ferroseed, hitting pure-grass types super effectively, but Rock Slide hits flying switch ins that expect an earthquake. these are the moves i would use:
-EQ
-Knock Off
-Double Edge
-Rock Slide / Fire Punch / Swords Dance
Fine, I'll slash it.Cubone is too slow to use Swords Dance, especially without Baton Pass or Sticky Web support. Everything is faster than it, how do you expect to sweep? Just crush switch-ins with your 28 Attack. Or Knock Off the very few bulky walls who you can't OHKO.
Yeah, I recently found this out when I was trying to breed a Cubone in Pokemon Y. It seems like PS! (and I guess pokemondb) gave Cubone Play Rough as an egg move accidentally when they were putting it in for Cubchoo.
Goddess Briyella, Cubone can't learn Stone Edge, it should be Rock Slide instead.
Fletchling is another very cool teammate, landing a priority Tailwind and dying to allow Cubone to switch in for free, which can work effectively with Belly Drum. Cubone's Grass-type checks are also destroyed by Fletchling's dual STABs.
I'll mention Trick Room in OO.A trick room sweeper set deserves a mention.
Lightning Rod can't boost squat if it's a Ground type. Also, Rock Slide OHKOs both of those Pokémon you mentioned. You should have Bonemerang at least mentioned in the primary set, as it lets Cubone (as you said in OO) get past Focus Sash, Substitute and Sturdymons, all things which Earthquake cannot. Although the accuracy is 90%, it still has a great upside and imo is a better STAB option than Earthquake.
Also, Cubone has the ability to run a Life Orb / Choice Specs set with its fantastic Special Movepool and access to Lightning Rod. At least mention this in OO because it can catch opponents off guard and can be a great way to deal with threatening Pokemon.
