ORAS OU Analysis Reservation Index - READ CAREFULLY AND ALL CURRENT WRITERS MUST READ

Hey, I am new to this part of Smogon. Im still an experienced OU player, and I was hoping to reserve Scizor for an analysis, but I may be doing something wrong. If not, I do have a question: is there a particular set I would have to analyze or can I do anything (provided it hasn't already been done)? Also, what does revamp mean?
I'm really sorry if I missed something, I hope it doesn't make me look bad :)

Yep! I just dropped it actually, feel free to take it if Jukain approves.

hey, can I do slowking?

It's really similar to slowbro, but it has much better special bulk. It more or less swaps the defenses, which can be pretty valuable against stuff like keldeo and Latios. In addition, it can wall stuff like special Altaria, which is pretty important. If I were to do it, I would have about four sets: physicall defensive, specially defensive, assault vest, and trick room. please respond.

also takes metagross grass knot like a champ, so it checks that mon better! (barring shitass thunderpunch)

As far as the Scizor situation, the Scizor revamp is badgeholder-only.

Aragorn the King Gourgeist-XL is approved.

asterat you deleted your post because there's already a Slowking analysis, but I'm completely open to having it revamped as it could be updated to fit the current metagame, anyways. If you're interested then just say.

Requesting permission to take Trevenant. It was rejected before, but with changes in ORAS I feel that it is far better than it was before, and with Gourgeist-XL now recieving an analysis, I feel that I should list their niches over one another:
  • Things Trevenant has over Gourgeist-XL:
    • Harvest
    • Horn Leech
    • Curse
    • Slightly higher special bulk
    • Beats Starmie
  • Things Gourgeist-XL has over Trevenant:
    • Synthesis
    • Foul Play
    • Much higher physical bulk
    • Beats Scizor
  • Niches of both
    • Beats Excadrill
    • Beats Azumarill
    • Beats Swampert
    • Beats M-Lopunny
    • Beats non-Knock Off Diggersby
    • Beats M-Metagross

gamer boy Gourgeist-XL was only approved because it's really physically bulky and handles some top threats like Mega Lopunny, Mega Metagross, and Azumarill. Trevenant simply doesn't offer anywhere near the amount of raw physical bulk that Gourgeist-XL does and doesn't really beat any of the things that you said are 'niches of both' besides Diggersby and Mega Swampert. Trevenant was rejected before and it's not getting approved now.

252+ Atk Tough Claws Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Trevenant: 199-235 (53.2 - 62.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Trevenant: 183-216 (48.9 - 57.7%) -- 53.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gourgeist-Super: 135-159 (36 - 42.5%) -- 93.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Tough Claws Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gourgeist-Super: 147-174 (39.3 - 46.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

theres a pretty big difference. jukain said this well. also, trevenants bulk is too shitty to abuse the abilities he has. tbh, gourgeist is also pretty shitty because it's weak to fire flying and dark, but it has the bulk so it is usable situationally.

I'm not going to write it, but you need to consider that Sitrus means that it isn't going to be 2HKOed by those. I made sure to calc that all before I made the post.

Trevenant is just checked or countered by too many threats to be considered viable. Despite having a super-effective attack in Shadow Claw and Phantom Force, neither of them even 4HKO Mega Sableye, a very prominent threat in ORAS OU. It is also checked by Mega Lopunny (takes up to 86% from HJK), Mega Metagross (takes up to 84% from Meteor Mash), Heatran, Talonflame, Staraptor, Mega Pinsir, both Megazards, Bisharp, Mega Altaria, Scizor, Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn...the list goes on. Furthermore, Azumarill which usually runs Knock Off, has a chance of OHKOing it while being 2HKOd by Seed Bomb - and Azu is something Trev's supposed to check.

Mega Sableye takes neutral damage from Shadow Claw and Phantom Force due to a secondary Dark Typing; regardless, I still agree with you that Trevenant is complete garbage.
