Gen VII: Pokémon Sun and Moon (New info Post #5834)

Sap Sipper is Herbivore in Japanese.
So maybe this dragon is so gentle, placid, that it doesn't eat meat? (unlike other dragons?)
Seeing how it's ol' dragon, it makes sense. Compare Goodra, equally gentle. Granny dragon looks like a pacifist wise old man.

Also, never sleep fighting been this funnily cute. Imagine this sleeper beating things.

It's on the website under the Charjabug description : "The Battery Ability allows it to raise the power of allies’ special moves."
WTF that's really good and it's stuck on a second stage first route bug ;;;;

If they don't give it Rage Powder and Helping Hand to complement it I will be extremely disappointed.

I wish/hope that the ingame Rotodex has the kind of detail the official site has.
Those Pokémon descriptions are adorable...
So this new video shows that
-riding Pokémon are back
-Grubbin definitely evolves into charjabug (I know quite a few people were confused over that)
-And that Zygarde cores and cells will be in the game, not just Zydog and zymech...

Surprise they didn't even try to translate Togedemaru's name. For kid appeal Pokemon Pikaclones are supposed to be, that's not gonna be very easy to pronounce.

And I think Vikavolt is the first ever flying Bug that lacks the Flying type yet has access to Levitate.
Dedenne isn't too easy to pronounce, imo.

Oh now I really hope that Togedemaru has Follow Me. That + Iron Barbs would be pretty annoying in doubles. (Mainly for the jokes about Togedemaru being VGC Worlds 2017 MVP like Pachi was two years ago.)

Looks like they were tired of The fact that a lot of winged insects couldn't illustrate they could fly due to typing and gave one levitate... Eh, slightly disappointing, especially since its prevo has a neat new ability. Maybe HA Vikavolt has battery? That would be cool. (Website mentions that sometimes Viakvolt will carry a Charjabug with them in fights, so this may be unlikely, sadly.)

... it also gets Berserk (Frenzy in japanese). So either your hypothesis is wrong, or Drampa is getting Moody as a Hidden Ability.
Some herbavores can go berserk.

VGC 2017

"We're really confused," stated one Game Freak executive. "When we only gave this new ability to the cocoon stage of the regional bug, we didn't expect to see such a surge in use."
He is, of course, referring to many players - including three of the four finalists and the winner - using the Pokémon Charjabug on their team. Common trends seem to be giving it the item Eviolite and either the move Rage Powder or Follow Me.

"Pokémon players really continue to surprise us with how creative they can get," the executive continued. "Last generation, when Pokémon X and Y came out, we had a similar surprise when people started using Aegislash as a special attacker when we gave it mostly physical moves. It was very shocking."

When quizzed about why Charjabug was on their team, many VGC players had similar responses.

"I get what you're saying, but it's the only Pokémon in the game with this ability. I don't really get why Game Freak only gave it to this one Pokémon."
"It doubles special attack. I'll happily take that for my Primal Kyogre over something that's just there to use Helping Hand."
"At first it doesn't make sense, yeah; but let's face it - an actual tougher Pokémon isn't taking hits from Mega Rayquaza any better. Charjabug's a better teammate than Pachirisu could ever dream of being."

This year's Pokémon VGC was won by Aaron Zheng. Again. Pokémon Sun and Moon were released November last year and have sold over 1 million copies since then.

Site on Zygarde 50%: "While the power it possesses is overwhelming, this Forme contains only 50% of Zygarde’s cells. Out in the world, an equal amount of power waits to be brought together. "
I guess this is where the plot tie in comes from. There's obviously two Zygardes and we get to meet the second one, so it doesn't have to be Kalos's ecosystem that's put into danger. That's clever, and surprisingly farsighted of Game Freak tbh.

Also interesting that Complete has a core in each of its wings and tail. That means 5. But Zygarde 50% makes up half. So how many cores does it have? 2 in each? 1 in each and 3 doing whatever? 2 and 3 respectively? Ack, symmetry.

On Bruxish: "In the Alola region, lifeguards let Bruxish remain in their area to prevent dangerous Water-type Pokémon from gathering there."

I have some questions. Regarding EVERY WATER ROUTE WITH SWIMMERS EVERYWHERE. Just how dangerous can a Pokemon get???

The new ability Dazzling looks amazing, especially due to how priority centric most metagames are. At the moment I think it's the signature ability of Bruxish, but hopefully I'm wrong - it'd be a great ability for fast frail Pokémon like Weavile.

I found XY thoroughly disappointing due to its lack of postgame. That's my big hope for SuMo - a good postgame. This game will probably be very easy, but I don't have a problem with that - you can do Nuzlockes to make it harder, or if you want a challenging RPG on the 3DS get Fire Emblem Fates Conquest.

"Honey Gather? Is that another new ability? What does it - Oh." Auras though? Cutiefly vs Lucario fight fight fight

"If it begins to howl when the sun goes down, that is proof that it’s close to evolving." Sheesh, spoilers Nintendo Great, confirmation that at least one of these newbies is evolving.

"Why don't you have a seat over there." Drampa, 2016.

Sorry for speculation here, but that Pokédex description for Vikavolt may hint at an exclusive item for that 'mon. Maybe it can hold onto a Charjabug and get a Deep Sea Tooth boost or something. That'd be really terrifying to face assuming it's stats don't suck.

As an aside though, Cutiefly just sounds like Combee 2.0. Hopefully Game Freak won't do a Vespiquen on us...

WTF is right. The reaction to this is absolutely baffling. The concept of the Pokémon dictates what ability, etc., is appropriate for it to have. Gameplay and competitive gameplay are irrelevant.
It was more of a "wtf" of dismay than a "wtf gamefreak" 'cause it would be an incredibly good ability to have if it's user were good. Maybe it'll end up being like Clefairy which is better or at least as good as it's evo in doubles on the merits of it's ability alone.

Well, it will ultimately depend on what its support movepool looks like. Rage Powder looks possible. Helping Hand does not. Electroweb seems like the most likely attacking move for it to have (if it's given it as a level up/egg move and not as a tutor move in the next game). It'll probably have shit special attack but at least it's a good supporting move and it won't be doing much attacking otherwise.

It makes sense flavour wise, and tbh that ability would completely overcentralise VGC and Doubles if it had better distribution.

Please Game Freak, put tutors in this game.

Bruxish gets Strong Jaw but no real moves to support it. Hmm...... (Maybe Ice Fang but that's it really)

Not like it's going to use it anyway (in terms of competitive battling that is). At most I see it being NU/PU as a defensive Water-type (stat-wise I think it'll have shit defense but fucking Lumineon is used defensively in PU so idfk) with Dazzle. Though its typing isn't the best defensively IMO. (If it gets Calm Mind I could see it working like a shittier Grumpig that doesn't completely lose to Sucker Punch oh and it's likely to get Scald (why wouldn't it) so that's a plus I guess)

Bruxish will probably get Poison Fang+Ice Fang+Crunch to take advantage of Strong Jaw. I'm expecting it to be a worse Basculin with a secondary STAB if anything tbh. Hopefully they'll buff Poison Fang so that it isn't weaker than Poison Jab after Strong Jaw.

Zinnia is highly doubted to be in sun/moon since characters that appear in 1 game usually dont appear again. Looker did, but he stopped evil organisations. Zinnia took in the power to get rayquazza to save the world, which looker is not the case. In fact, There is not a Rayquazza to catch in every game. However there is a rumor that Ash and Serena are coming as players in Sun/moon.I hope that is correct but anyway moving on. Zinnia is a DRACINOID. That is a dragon type tranior/hero. The legendries in sun/sun are steel/physhic and ghost/physic. As you can see the realised videos don't show any signs of Zinnia in them. So... She probably will not be in sun/moon but hey she could be since in ORAS she moved to another region; but thats just a therory.

Who knows, maybe they will introduce a Water type fang move, so that Bruxish would be able to get a STAB to use with Strong Jaw. Remember that Mega Sharpedo would also be able to benefit from such a move.
