Well, if ultra beats are in the pokedex, can be caught, and used in battles, they are pokemon. For " they dont look like pokemon/pokemon are based on animals", not all pokemon are based on animals, and some ultra beats ARE based on animals. UB1 is a jellyfish, Absorption is a mosquito, Beauty is a cockroach.

So I guess the datamining hit a dead-end already? Seems like they scrubbed everything pretty well after all. Having all these sprites without any stats, movesets, or abilities assigned to them is quite underwhelming considering the scope of data the ORAS datamine gave us. Maybe it's a good thing, but now I'll be curious for one whole month about those UBs and Solgaleo/Lunala prevos.

Will the datamine unveil more scripted events within the demo itself, though? The demo seems too uneventful compared to what I heard about the ORAS one.

Hmm, if these sprites are either from the Pokédex or the Pokémon Center healing machine, then the fact that there are no mega evolution sprites means nothing. They wouldn't have sprites for those situations. Or am I wrong? Do mega evolutions have dex entries?

They had dex entries you just had to swap them around in the forms option

Well you could see the forme differences in the Pokedex past gen, Megas included, but those weren't still models. I think they would have had coded in the Megas' sprites to prevent hackers from crashing the game, though. since people can hack in permanent Megas. What would happen if they are healed in the Pokemon Center? Maybe it will show the normal sprite, not sure...

If they have the sprites for all existing Megas, but no new ones, then I guess it is all but confirmed that there will be new Megas after all.

I just had a thought related to laser focus. Some people are saying it's going to be a robinhoot signature move, but what if this is gamefreak's weird way of trying to deal with stalling/defensive setups in singles? With defense weather being a thing and possibly even having an auto setter, stacking with screens, ect, they might want to have a way to preempt hard to counter defensive setups which now got much easier to pull off like Siglyph and Clefable, or pass chains that include defense boosts from becoming ridiculous in battle spot.

Then I had another thought. If it actually becomes a popular move either for this purpose or for another reason, something fast holding a sash with anger point (Tauros, for example) might suddenly become viable at least in battle spot.

Wait, seriously? There's MORE?!

I recall someone telling me that there were like 180 trainer classes in SM from demo data which is much more than XYORAS, maybe more information on these classes foreshadows some postgame content (BF? PWT? Something entirely new?).

Yeah, that does seem to be a lot. Who knows at this point. Let's hope the datamining wizards can find more goodies to share later.. cause its aparently happening.

Been stalking this thread shortly before signing up. I actually like Litten3, which I have affectionately nicknamed "John Cena Kitty".

As R_N mentioned, the 180 classes might be reusing some of the code from Gen VI for some post-game content. Though it would be great if we got some good post-game stuff.

Have the dataminers posted the new icons included in the demo (e.g., menu sprites, items, etc.)? I know they included some in their video, but those get blurry if you try to save them.

I really want to slap you right now. >_>
Seems more likely then there being more trainer classes than both previous games combined

I doub they're going to overhaul any of the teams, either, beyond marginal updates if some pokemon got a good new move.

Passimian & Wonder Guard Shedinja with HyperBeam/GigaImpact as base for its Z-Move or Sucker Punch for coverage.

On top of my head.
I hate to break it to you, but Z-Moves have to use moves of the same Type as a base. So, unless you want to use the Normal Z-Move, you'll need to use something different.

This will be a competitive player's worst nightmare.

That said, does the data really hint at anything regarding the Ultra Beasts being catchable? I don't care either way, but I'm sure Shiny forms doesn't really mean anything outside that they're a possibility. Maybe they'll end up Shinylocked assuming they do end up being indexed with Pokemon.

Shedinja has access to Normal, Grass and Dark powerful moves so it can Z-Move those. And it's one-function Pokemon, which can also set in that turn it has.
