Is there a possibility that the Street Poke Plaza or whatever is called gives you access to Move Tutors? I dont know if all the info of it has already been datamined but maybe if it is an online thing it could have data outside of the main game.

Just one question, isn't Farfetch'd enough to pass down Curse to Rowlett? I mean, it could get Curse from Smeargle and then directly can be put with a Rowlet to breed, there's no need for a Skarmory as far as i know.


Also, the only Alolan Pokemon i know whose egg moves are all available pre-Pokebank is Vulpix :P (I've been researching for them), it can get all from a Smeargle (just a little help for your Alolan forms egg move list)

You're right about the farfetch'd thing! It's still illegal technically as Farfetch'd isn't in the Alola dex though, will edit. Also, thank you for the heads up on Vulpix!

Thanks for list! This going to be very helpful once I start breeding in this gen. Here's a list (not sure if it's complete) of the non-Alolan Pokémon that can be found through QR-scanning. If I'm not mistaken, it makes the following egg moves legal:
  • Aurora Beam on Dewpider
  • Weather Ball on Fomantis
  • Reversal on Jangmo-o
 
not being able to breed/evolve things like normal exeggutor, marowak, vulpix is absolutely bizarre
the game already differentiates them! good thing we got drought torkoal i guess

assuming its not a glitch that's just going to make regional forms all the more annoying going forward, especially if they add more to other games

Assuming that it's not something the game pulls because you can't technically get them in Sun and Moon without transfers.

As if it were a Bad Egg kind of measure.

It's too strange... enough to make me suspect of what I said.

nah i'm guessing it's not an anti-piracy (or anti-hack or whatever term) measure and more just a massive oversight since it makes no sense in-universe (why is my ninetails producing cold children) or mechanically (gastrodon's mother's form determines what form shellos is, deerling's seasonal form outside gen 5 is determined by sawsbuck/deerling's current form)

looks through list... SWEET!! Conkeldurr, Staravia, Honedge, Venipede, Marill, Togekiss and the Johto and Unova Starters will be great to have pre-pokebank.
But no durant :(
oh well i can cheese super singles at battle tree with baton pass Scollipede though.

I know what to do first - get one with Contrary.

unless there's some other factor in play, any diglett bred in Sun & Moon will be Alola Diglett and not Normal Diglett. So currently, unless there's some weird item required or w/e, there is no way to have a pentagon/plus marked Normal Diglett/Dugtrio

Thanks for finding this! I edited the list with all of the QR code pokemon + Alola forms now. It also makes the following legal:

  • Autotomize on A-Geodude
  • Ancient Power + Ingrain on A-Exeggutor

solgaleo & Lunala aren't on here
since ultra beasts aren't softbanned, does this mean that solgaleo & lunala, 680 BST legendaries, can be used in the battle tree?

further: can necrozma? what about all the (presumably non-arceus) mythical pokemon?

b/c it'd be kind of crazy to have all those be legal!

Unfortunately I missed out on what was actually banned on the stream, so its in the dark still. :/

Seconding this. In Y i picked a female character 'cus I figured (correctly) there would be more clothing options. Is it the same this time around or is there a good variety (not really counting dyes i guess) to guy clothes this time around?

From what I saw in the stream(s), males do have a nice variety of clothes although the hairstyles are kind of lacking.

Thanks for doing all of the legwork on the egg move front, Riah. It's invaluable.

Any chance you'll be exploring something similar as it pertains to legal/illegal egg moves for the returnees?
After all, we're starting from scratch with them as well at least until the bank comes online in January.

Let's say I want to recreate the Smogon-recommended Dual Screens moveset for Ledian from XY.
I'll need to breed over Encore from the Bug group.
Shuckle would normally be the route for that but he's not around.
