SPOILERS! Sun and Moon SQSA Thread

I bought the game just a few days ago and I'm taking my time completing it, so I haven't kept track of this thread and I have a couple of questions regarding SOS battles.

1)Assuming false swiping the original mon to then slaughter all the SOSed ones is the go-to way to farm IV, is there a specific path to the number of perfect IVs you will get (I've heard 4 IVs after 40 encounters, does it mean 1 every 10 summoned mons)?

2) HAs. Is there an escalating chance of getting mons with Hidden Abilities the further you progress in the chain or is it completely random? I'm asking because I still haven't found a decent method to check abilities without jeopardising the chain (i.e. Corsola summons Meranie, while I check it with Worryseed it proceeds to kill Corsola, goodbye chain). Alternatively, is there an established, effective method to check abilities that I still haven't found looking on the internet?

Thanks.

Apparently, this is how it works from what I read:

0-4 SOS Pokemon: No guaranteed perfect IVs
5-9 SOS Pokemon: 1 guaranteed perfect IV
10-19 SOS Pokemon: 2 guaranteed perfect IVs
20-29 SOS Pokemon: 3 guaranteed perfect IVs
30 or more SOS Pokemon: 4 guaranteed perfect IVs

0-9 SOS Pokemon: 0%
10-19 SOS Pokemon: 5%
20-29 SOS Pokemon: 10%
30 or more SOS Pokemon: 15%

Keep in mind that, after the 255th SOS Pokemon, the counter rolls back to 0, and you'll have to reach 30 again.

It's about random until about 40, at which point you get the maximum of 4 guaranteed IV's. If you Skill Swap Telepathy to the Corsola, you can protect it from Mareanie's attacks and proceed to Skill Swap the Mareanie to check its Ability. I think the hidden ability becomes more likely the higher into the chain you go.

Unfortunately, you cannot Skill Swap Telepathy right now. They are stuck in older generations.

I have a question, is there a place/thread where you can go to display what buildings you have in your festival plaza and/or which ones you want for trading purposes with fellow smogon-ers? I see a global mission thread, but no focused place where you can trade buildings.

Guys.

What the hell are the chances of me getting a Hidden Ability Mareanie?

I'm building a team for Battle Tree, and I absolutely need it's HA, so what are the percentages? I've hatched like 50 eggs already and nothing

Cause right now I have a BOLD 4 Perfect IV Mareanie in the daycare matched with a 4 Perfect IV Ditto

If I'm able to get the HA, and I want to keep training for 5 Perfect IV / HA Mareanie, what percedures do I need to take?

You need a parent with Regenerator to begin with. And it must be a female, or have a Ditto parent.

Any word on this? Or whether or not it would be an appropriate thread to start?

Now that, (well, since gen 6) both parents can pass down egg moves, and that egg moves can be relearned, is it possible to pass down more than 4 egg moves?

Ex: Parent A has 4 egg moves, Parent B has 4 different egg moves, do the offspring have 4 of these moves + the ability to relearn the other four? Or do they only get the egg moves from one parent?

I am aware that speed mechanics have changed for mega evolution, I would like to know in the specific case of Char Y's Drought does it affects Chlorophyll users now like Torkoal's(activating Chlorophyll the first turn)? I am asking it because in the ladder it still does not apply the speed bonus, I dont know if it is supposed to be like that or is just not updated or something.

Ok. I have a 4 IV beldum in the daycare with a 4 IV ditto...

Are my eggs going to be limited to only receiving 4 Perfect ivs ? I have destiny knot on ditto and I'm trying to get 5 Perfect ivs on an egg

It depends on the IVs. If your Ditto is 31/31/31/31/x/x and you Beldum is x/x/31/31/31/31 there's a ~1/10 chance of getting more than 4IVs (and a ~1/75 to get a 5IV -SpA). Then again if both parents are 31/31/31/31/x/x then the Destiny Knot will never pass down a 31 speed IV. As long as between both parents you have the IVs you want you will eventually get a perfect 5IV offspring.

Does anyone know if/when we are getting the rest of the mega stones? Is it like the Pokebank situation, or has game freak said nothing of it? Seems odd for the items not to be included, given game freak doesn't do dlc... maybe attached to event Pokémon? Or in a new game ('eclipse')?

I just hope we can use those guys again. It'd be said to just never see them again. Over 20 stones! :'(

We don't know. There's been no word on when or even if the remaining Mega Stones will become available.

I don't think that is exactly right as I had a non-SOS Torkoal activate its Drought on the first turn of battle... but then when I False Swiped it and it SOS'd, the 'helper' KO'd it with Lava Plume :'(

My question - I am trying to find Frustration and Return but the Oranguru isn't there (see below) do I have to find something else in the game first?

Move Name: Frustration

None of the new weather setters have the ability as their hidden ability. They all had only one ability before and the setting ability went to the second slot.

Drought is not a hidden ability, but a second regular ability, which it didn't have before. Just like Drizzle, Sand Stream and Snow Warning are for Pelipper, Gigalith and Vanilluxe, respectively.

(That's why Pelipper will be able to have both Drizzle and Defog even though it cannot learn the latter in Gen VII, for instance)

Is there some kind of somewhat reliable way to breed Pokemon for specific Hidden Power types (specially the most useful ones - Fire, Fighting, Ground...) or is it always hatching and praying it got the right IVs?

What moveset/items/stat spread are you currently using on Metagross? What mode are you using it in?
I'm thinking

Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake

For the extra bulk to be able to withstand hits and dish back pretty hard

Standard singles / super singles

So I got a Vulpix from the GTS, given I have Moon, but its a female and its in an Ultra Ball, which means that it will pass that Ultra Ball down to its offspring. The thing is, I don't like Ultra Balls and I'd like pretty much any other Ball instead (for the babies). Is there anything I can do about it or would I have to go back to the GTS?

If you breed a male of the same species with the female, there's a 50% chance the male's ball will be passed down instead.
So female Ultra Ball vulpix with male Luxury Ball ninetales; half the offspring have an Ultra and half the offspring have a Luxury.

You may have to finish the Aether Paradise portion of the story first, according to the TM Location guide thread, specifically this post.
