All righty, let's get this pre-evolution wrapped up! You have one week (168 hours) to make Pokedex submissions for this design! As before, the deadline may be shortened depending on activity. For inspiration, here are Astrolotl's Pokedex entries:

Astrolotl, the Shooting Star Pokémon

Sword: Astrolotl illuminate the night sky with their flight. Groups of Astrolotl migrating across Galar are frequently mistaken for meteor showers.

Shield: It is a Galar custom to make a wish when Astrolotl are seen flying at night. The Pokemon may curiously descend if the wish is kind.

CAP 27 Prevo so far:

Type: Fire/Dragon

Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards
  • Pokedex Entries must have flawless grammar. Smogon has a Grammar & Prose team that will help identify mistakes.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 32 words and cannot be over 156 characters.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Double quote (")
    • Period (.)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space

Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on its own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokémon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokémon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Sword Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Sword" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Shield Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Shield" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Final Submission

Dragapult
, the Stealth Pokémon

Sword: When it isn't battling, it keeps Dreepy in the holes on its horns. Once a fight starts, it launches the Dreepy like supersonic missiles.

Shield: Apparently the Dreepy inside Dragapult's horns eagerly look forward to being launched out at Mach speeds.
Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

WIP

Solotl,
the Beaming Smile Pokemon

Sword: These pokemon are often mistaken for stars. It is said seeing one brings good fortune.

Shield: This pokemon delivers a faint glow that is able to defeat cruel pokemon. People of old used to bring these during nighttime strolls.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Solar Star Pokémon

Sword: Solotl emit a bright light when startled. Many a time, lost wanderers have mistaken groups of Solotl for the actual sun, only to become even more lost.

Shield: Solotl in Galar seem to love to collect plants from the Glimwood Tangle. They also follow wild Hatterene around, for unexplained reasons.

WIP

Solotl
, the Falling Star Pokémon

Sword: Solotl lack the ability to fly long distances, often plummeting to the ground moments after takeoff. They soon recover from any damage they took on impact.

Shield: They feed on meteors in the upper atmosphere. Galar's population of Minior was hunted to extinction by hungry Solotl.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Star Pokémon

Sword: It is said that shooting stars are actually Solotls that have separated from flocks of Astrolotls. They often land near people who have made wishes on those Solotls, for some reason.

Shield: Every time a new star is born, so is a Solotl. As they fly across the night sky, they shed their feathers regularly, which are then used in the creation of wishing talismans.

WIP

Solotl
, the Shining Pokémon

Sword: Though small, this Pokémon's light can brighten even the darkest days. Before evolutionary science became widely accepted, it was thought that this Pokémon was related to Volcarona.

Shield: Solotl are entirely diurnal, keeping up their lively mood only in the sun. This can make parenting difficult for Astrolotl, as they prefer the stars.
It seems kind of odd that sleeping patterns would be an issue for them in the Shield entry when one of their flavor abilities is Vital Spirit.
Your sword entry is too long. The limit is 156 characters, yours is 183.

Both of your entries go over the character limit

WIP

Sword: Solotl emit a bright light when startled. On many occasions, lost wanderers have mistaken groups of Solotl for the actual sun, only to become even more lost.

Shield: Solotl in Galar seem to love to collect plants from the Glimwood Tangle. They also follow wild Hatterene around, for unexplained reasons.
Your Sword entry is very close to being valid, it's just 1 character over the limit.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Sun Pokémon

Sword: Due to its active spirit, this Pokémon is always active regardless of the time of year, which is why it sometimes gets mistaken for a real sun.

Shield: A Galarian legend tells about how Solotl are able to stay in ages-long wakefulness. It's said that this is because of Eternatus's mighty energy supply.

I took notice of one of Solotl's possible abilities being Vital Spirit while writing both the Sword and Shield Dex entries for it.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Dancing Star Pokémon

Sword: A Galarian legend says that when the stars start moving, a chorus of Solotl is dancing and singing.
,
Shield: Solotl have the power to make a wish to the stars. They will do this to help their Trainer if the Trainer feels bad.

Thank You Gleeboop, hematite and quanyalis uwufor helping with the grammar and with minors grammatical errors uwu

The edit is because I made some minors mistakes

WIP

Solotl,
the Protostar Pokemon

Sword: This energetic Pokemon is at its most active on starry nights. It becomes noticeably morose when the night sky is clouded.

Shield: Some say that Solotl was born when the sun was formed. It radiates intense heat and light during solar flares and eruptions.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Falling Star Pokémon

Sword: Solotl lack the ability to fly long distances, often plummeting to the ground just minutes after takeoff. They can recover from any damage taken on impact.

Shield: They feed on meteors in the upper atmosphere. Galar's Minior population was hunted to extinction by hungry Solotl.

Final Submission

Solotl
, the Rising Star Pokemon.

Sword: Solotl derive their power and happiness from the Sun. They avoid Galar's Glimwood Tangle out of fear of the dark and unknown.

Shield: It is rumored that once a Solotl absorbs enough sunlight, it rises into the sky, believing itself to be a star.

Disqualified entries:
  • Ubertrainer2000: Sword entry is longer than 156 characters, incorrect pluralization of "Solotl" and "Astrolotl".
Everyone else goes on to poll 1!
