Pet Mod Two Step 'Mons V.2 | Slate 7 | Step 1: (Moves and Abilities)

Move Name: Static Snuggle
Category:
Physical.png

Type:
Fairy.png

Base Power: 90
Max PP: 10 (16 Max)
Accuracy: 100%
Effect(s): If the opponent switched in this turn, then they will get Paralyzed.
Effect Chance: NA
Attributes: Contact, Protect, Mirror
Reasoning: Finally another viable Fairy Physical Attack other than Play Rough. Intended as decent wallbreaking tool that also punishes pivoting.

Move Name: Deafening Shriek
Category:
Special.png

Type:
Ghost.png

Base Power: 130
Max PP: 5 (8 Max)
Accuracy: 100%
Effect(s): The target gets the Deafened effect, making them immune to Sound-based moves until switching out.
Effect Chance: 100%
Attributes: Sound, Protect, Mirror
Reasoning: High power ghost STAB, but targets can only get hit by this move once before becoming immune to the move. Inspired by a Banshee’s wail.

Ability Name: Pristine Prowess
Description: When at full HP, this Pokémon's attacks deals twice as much damage.
Reasoning: An offensive counterpart to Multiscale/Shadow Shield, this ability has great offensive potential, and could be interesting to balance around. One might criticize that this is also incredibly similar to Huge Power, but due to this power boost being conditional, this ability could also find itself on some mons who hold a higher power threshold than the likes of the standard Huge Power mons, allowing for some incredibly scary glass cannons.

I'm going to extend the deadline a bit because we got a bunch of subs and also because I want to comment on some subs.
Ability Name: Iron Will
Description: The pokemon will survive any hit with at least 1 HP the turn it switches in. (Endure on switch-in).
Reasoning: Grants the user a way to switch in safely for as long as hazards are cleared, which lets it perform various last-ditch effort tasks such as revenge killing or maybe fast recovering.

I'm not convinced this counts as an offensive ability, as it pretty much only lets the pokemon in question tank hits. The next slate is a defense slate, so hold on to this idea.

Move Name: Earth Pillars
Category: Physical
Type: Ground
Base Power: 100
Max PP: 16 (base 10)
Accuracy: 100%
Effect(s): The user attacks the target in the first turn. At the end of the next turn, the target or Pokemon that switched with the target will receive another attack from giant earth pillars rising from the ground. The second hit only hits 70 BP.
Attributes: -
Reasoning: Inspired by Hyrule Warriors. Just like Future Sight and Doom Desire, this could be a great way to threaten the opponent to switch or take the hit. Except you have already dealt damage the first turn which gives it an extra punch. This isn't too broken either as this can easily be cheesed with a flying type switch in. Which means a potential free switch in for you too.

I think this is a little too strong at the moment; 170 BP total for one attack with no accuracy issues or other drawbacks seems like too much. It needs a nerf, either to its power or to have major drawbacks added to put it more in line with similarly powerful moves. I'd feel better about this move if it was say, totaling 140 BP or dropping the user's defenses.

Voting will still open soon, but I'll leave some time for changes to these subs.

Voting Results
The ability category goes to shnowshner's Serrated Skin!
Ability Name: Serrated Skin
Description: The user's contact moves cause the target to lose 1/10th of their HP.
Reasoning: Damage is weaker than Rough Skin but is added on top of any damage you deal, and can be a lot easier to inflict. I feel this has a lot of synergy with existing moves, but in turn could easily be abused, so be reasonable with whoever gets this.

For the physical category there was a three-way tie between Psionic Strike, Gut Punch, and Supressing Blow, which I broke in favor of 6Roggenrolas' Gut Punch!
Move Name: Gut Punch
Category: Physical
Type: Fighting
Base Power: 70
Max PP: 16
Accuracy: %
Effect(s): For 5 turns, the target is prevented from healing.
Effect Chance: % - if applicable
Attributes: Contact
Reasoning: A cruel, EDGY punch that inflicts lasting pain, preventing the victim from being able to focus on healing. Lot of potential for this move to be good but I think the BP, typing, and contact will keep it balanced.

For the special category, DuoM2 won with Vengeful Spell!
Move Name: Vengeful Spell
Category: Special
Type: Fairy
Base Power: 150
Max PP: 8
Accuracy: 100%
Effect(s): At the beginning of the turn, the user begins charging. Fails if the user has not been hit by a direct attack within that time.
Attributes: -3 Priority
Reasoning: In case it needs clarifying, this move works if you get attacked and fails if the opponent misses or uses a status move. This is a parallel to Focus Punch meant to punish some highly spammable moves like U-Turn and Knock Off. For U-Turn an opponent could easily pivot out of this into a resist but that's still a 75 base power + possibly STAB move the incoming mon has to take. Really sucks that Steels and Toxapex exist but you can give your Pokemon coverage options to deal with those if needed for whatever reason. Would also be nice if the Pokemon using this move had good longevity.

Poll Results
I will also be closing the poll about whether Two Step 'Mons should be a micrometa. There were 13 votes for micrometa and 7 votes for OU-based. Although I wish it had been more one-sided, I think that is enough to convince me that this will now be a micrometa. This being the case, I am also going to postpone the addition of V1 pokemon into the metagame. Once we are about halfway through, we will vote on which V1 mons we want to incorporate and which ones we don't. Starting a micrometa with 9 pokemon already in it just didn't seem smart. Without further ado, here is slate 2!
Slate 1 Part 2 - New Pokemon (oops)
We will now create new pokemon based on these elements! You can either modify an existing pokemon to have the new element, or create a fakemon that gets it instead.

1 Pokemon based around the ability Serrated Skin
1 Pokemon based on the move Gut Punch
1 pokemon based on the move Vengeful Spell

P.S. I'm ready to put together a council, so PM me if you are interesting in joining that!

Name: Bisharp
Type: Dark/Steel
Abilities: Serrated Skin / Inner Focus (H: Pressure)
Stats: 65 / 125 / 100 / 60 / 80 / 80 (BST: 510)
Movepool Additions: Recover
Movepool Removals: None
Description: Replaced Defiant with Serrated Skin because otherwise it would run Defiant a good portion of the time. Serreted Skin makes sense flavorwise because Bisharp has very sharp skin. Bisharp has the tools it needs, but Recover is just for some nice longevity. Buffed Spe & SpD to make it easier to get kos and to be a small bit bulkier. Sucker Punch Serrated Skin is cool.

Pokemon Name: Guemanon (Guenon + Mana) man idk lol
Typing:
Fairy.png
Grass.png

Abilities: Leaf Guard/Analytic
Stats: 95/65/70/120/130/65 (545)
Movepool:
Special.png
Vengeful Spell, Future Sight, Leaf Storm, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Absorb, Mega Drain, Charge Beam, Fairy Wind, Grass Knot,
Physical.png
Petal Blizzard, U-Turn, Bullet Seed, Brick Break,
Status.png
Jungle Healing, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Synthesis, Trick, Ally Switch, Yawn, Flower Shield, Rest
Weight: 20kg
Design Concept: This Pokémon is based on guenon monkeys which have nice beards which can make them look magical like wise old wizard monkeys with long beards in the Pokémon interpretation. Guenons are forest monkeys, so it was fitting to give them the grass typing. They wear a leaf cloak on their back and their skin is a light pink while their beards are a light beige. They also hold a wooden staff with their prehensile tails.
Reasoning: Funny story so I actually used a random animal generator and one of the animals it generated was a guenon which I thought was perfect for this concept lol. Anyway, Guemanon can be used as a nice special wall that can fire off analytic boosted vengeful spells to nuke opponents. Analytic is also useful to catch Pokémon that switch on a prediction that you will use vengeful spell that turn. Focus Blast and psychic give this Pokémon some good coverage options for poison and steel types, and jungle healing and synthesis can deliver semi reliable recovery for this Pokémon as well.

Pokemon: Pangoro

Abilities: Iron Fist/Mold Breaker/ Intimidate
Stats: 110/130/78/69/71/58 (516)
Movepool Additions: Gut Punch, Sucker Punch, Slack Off
Movepool Removals: N/A
Reasoning: Pangoro can use gut punch to break troublesome walls and when boosted by iron fist, (I know punching isn't listed as one of gut punch's attributes but I'm assuming that was a mistake by the move creator, lmk if this isn't the case) it can reach 84 bp which is nice for a 130 attack mon. Slack off is added so Pangoro can further stall break teams and sucker punch is so it can still have an okay matchup against offense. Pangoro also has the option of intimidate which can allow him to be a solid physical wall as well.

Pokemon: Cacturne
Typing: Grass/Dark
Abilities: Serrated Skin/Sand Veil/Water Absorb(HA)
Stats: 90/115/60/60/60/110 (495)
Movepool Additions: Knock Off, Wood Hammer, Darkest Lariat
Movepool Removals: Acid, Belch, Venoshock, Mud Slap
Reasoning: It literally has spikes on its arms and legs how could it not have. It's original had great offense yet terrible speed and defenses, so I decided to make it a speedy, physical hard-hitter at the expense of its special attack now lowered drastically. It's defenses also remaining piss poor so that it would be balanced with its speed. So now it can actually use its offensive stats properly without someone defeating it first.

Pokemon: Lycanroc - Midnight
Typing: Rock/Fighting
Abilities: Intimidate/Hustle/Reckless(HA)
Stats: 95/115/85/55/75/82 (507)
Movepool Additions: Gut Punch, Head Smash, Headbutt, Submission, Double-Edge
Movepool Removals: Stone Edge, Iron Tail, Round, Toxic
Reasoning: I'm gonna be honest here I literally searched for edgy pokemon in google. Like, No Joke. Lo and behold, Lycanroc - Midnight came to me. Changed all its abilities to fit the Pokemon better and increased its HP and physical defense by 10. Gut Punch would fit Lycanroc Midnight with its edginess and its newly added Fighting type, and it'll definitely help out the team against stallers. Said Fighting type was added to this Lycanroc form because its noted that it basically loves to recklessly fight everything without question.

magearna.png

Pokemon: Magearna
Typing: Fairy/Steel
Abilities: Soul Heart/Analytic (HA)
Stats: 80/75/115/98/115/65 (548)
Movepool Additions: Vengeful Spell, Moonlight
Movepool Removals: Fleur Cannon
Reasoning: Magearna's movepool is already solid enough, so I thought it'd be fitting for it to have this move in place of Fleur Cannon. Since it's already pretty slow, the opponent would have a hard time predicting when using switch moves. I reduced its SPATK so that it wouldn't be too powerful reduced its attack stat cuz yes, and kept everything else. Moonlight is also given to Magearna for more recovery besides Draining Kiss and Rest.

(i couldn't get an official gif sprite for lycanroc or magearna smh)

Typing: Ice/Poison
Abilities: Serrated Skin (Shed Skin)

Movepool: Coil, Triple Axel, Gunk Shot, Dual Wing Beat, Icicle Crash, Toxic, Glare, Aqua Tail, Fire/Ice/Thunder Fang, Scale Shot, Crunch, Earthquake
Reasoning: Coil... Triple Axel... GG! That's this ice spike snake's main combat method. This thing doesn't have the best defenses, so be careful not to Rough Skin yourself to death. Most of the coverage can be nixed if too strong.

sharpedo.gif.m.1523036372

Pokémon: Sharpedo
Typing:
water.png
dark.png
(unchanged)
Abilities: Rough Skin (HA: Serrated Skin)
Stats: 70/120/40/70/40/120 (BST: 460)
Movepool Additions: Swords Dance
Movepool Removals: none
Reasoning: Who better to give Serrated Skin to the shark torpedo that once had Rough Skin as its signature ability back in Generation III? Admittedly, even back when it was the only ability Sharpedo had, it was next to useless because Sharpedo's defensive stats are paper-thin, so it couldn't effectively make use of its abrasive skin. Now finally with Serrated Skin, the cleaner now has a reason to use its coarse body in battle. Admittedly, it had to give up Speed Boost for Serrated Skin because it would rather run Speed Boost all the time if it was available; Speed Boost is just that powerful. With Serrated Skin, Sharpedo's Crunch and Waterfall now give a good residual damage bonus along with its existing output. Many of Sharpedo's useful moves (apart from Earthquake) are contact moves, so this also makes Close Combat and Poison Jab more deadly than usual, and gives Ice Fang a new breath of fresh air, since its 65 base power was too middling to use otherwise without some damage boost to give it a reason to use it as coverage. Little to no Special moves benefit from Serrated Skin, so in order to make up for its loss of Speed Boost, Sharpedo's base Sp. Atk stat lost 25 points so that its base Speed stat could take those lost 25 points to rise up to 120. To make sure it could stand up to potentially OU-tiered beasts once again, it had to make sure it wasn't totally predictable: instead of a cleaner, it can become a staggeringly potent sweeper with the addition of Swords Dance, which is sorely needed as a move that boosts its already high base Attack stat to true supertanker-sinking levels as it already now has a great Speed tier to abuse its usual role as clean-up duty.

Yeah I forgot to list the punch attribute, should definitely work with IF

i forgot to sub but here's eel so

:ss/eelektross:
Pokemon: Eelektross
Typing: Electric / Fighting
Abilities: Levitate / Iron Fist / Dazzling (HA)
Stats: 75 / 125 / 80 / 80 / 95 / 95 (560 BST)
Movepool Additions: Gut Punch, Recover
Movepool Removals: Brick Break, Drain Punch
Reasoning: cool mon, has recovery + STAB iron fist boosted Gut Punch, while also having a electric STAB that doesn't suck and Coil, wich is a nice setup option for the mon. also has pivoting and some really nice coverage.

:ss/Regice:
Pokemon: Regice
Typing: Ice / Fairy
Abilities: Ice Body / Clear Body | HA: Analytic
Stats: 80 HP / 50 Atk / 100 Def / 120 SpA / 170 SpD / 80 Spe
Movepool Additions: Vengeful Spirit, Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind, Recover, Taunt
Movepool Removals: N/A
Reasoning: Vengeful Spirit requires the opponent to hit it to maximize the effect of the move. So Taunt is definitely required. I decided Regice has the typing that would lend to users trying to attack it to kill it, but with it's bulk it can usually live a hit and retaliate HARD with Vengeful Spirit. I don't really like this move but it's the best idea I've got.

:ss/doublade:
Pokemon: Doublade (Eviolite Compatible)
Typing: Ghost / Steel
Abilities: Serrated Skin
Stats: 59 HP / 120 Atk / 150 Def / 49 SpA / 63 SpD / 49 Spe
Movepool Additions: N/A
Movepool Removals: N/A
Reasoning: Serrated means it has a sharp and or jagged edge. You know what else has that? Doublade baby. With an actually useful ability, Doublade becomes much better at both wallbreaking and revengekilling stuff. It's dual STAB BP is still weak to balance it out.
