NOC Bigvivor Mafia Game Thread Day 5

i also want to revisit the haruno kill quickly - when Celever instantly claimed my read on US being sus for that had bad logic (which it did), and instantly jumped to defend with a few brief paragraphs on why it would be dumb for US to ever make that kill, it displayed he'd already made a ton of considerations about why someone might make the kill etc. so yeah i can see him possibly being responsible there. that could also just be called being a helpful town member!

the reason i'm not physically voting cel right now is because of how much pressure he's gotten from well over half the game in a game that likely has 6+ scum/third party left in it. and i can see some of the tonal concerns i've had being misconstrued because of cel's natural ability to come off a little shadier/more sus than other town. aside from that i'm up to consider it but not until we've addressed some of the players sliding by without getting sr'd when they've had questionable posts

think the Dave / Drookez cases are stronger.

the drookez push doesn't sit well with me because:
- what mafia with a motivator doesn't just motivate within mafia? sure he could use it to try and pocket me, i won't rule that out of the equation (especially if he picked up on the modpost being me just based on what i wrote n2, and so he knew the motivate would be harmless)
- if he's third party and has a role designed to allow him to pose as a town, ok cool.. we should still focus scum today no? maybe i misunderstand the costs/benefits of voting a third party at this night in the game

aside from that i understand most of the rest of what you're saying, and it's unlikely all of you/spiderz/nuxl are scum together which is.. something. i should also respond to this:

- The lack of mafia kill is pointing out suspicious targeting on Dyo's part for two separate nights. It's not hard evidence in the slightest, to be clear, and how is Dyo a 'proven role cop' (which btw is a pretty common mafia role anyway even if that is his role?). It could easily be a teammate with that role (or a full inspector role), and M2H already pointed out the possibility that the mafia tried and failed to kill him which would've given Dyo an out by saying 'oh my result was a fail'

you're right, i didn't consider the possibility of it being a potential teammate claiming the role, so my bad there. i still think it's dyo himself, i'm just becoming less confident he ever actively claims a rolecop as scum when it's a scummy role, surely his mafia team keeps him from doing that yeah?

also since flavor is role-relevant i'm pretty sure we can rule out the teammate possibility by me asking hey Dyo what's your role flavor? (sorry if i missed an earlier claim)

as far as vote i won't vote any of dle, drookez, m2h, ryo, psy, and probably caff/texas/realiti at this point as well, as these players are the most town in my eyes. i'm sure there will wind up at least being a scum or two there, but def not voting unless some development occurs that's strong enough to suggest one of them is likely scum

Admittedly my b

ok I agree with the people you don’t want to
Vote out atm, except for Caff. Why do you TR Caff

The problem is idk if the dread in feeling regarding this game is a natural byproduct of such a long and large game or active behavior of the scum team.

Town unity is trash. People that would usually be leading rn aren’t leading. Everybody is paranoid in a million different directions and I can’t make sense of it.

I have the intuition rn that the game isn’t moving in a towny direction overall and is getting more complex over time than simpler. I’ll what to make of that.

also re: caff, revisited his reaction to my initial scumlean on him recently, back towards the beginning of the game, and it felt genuine and town

i feel the exact opposite tbh - i feel like we're finally catching gears and some of the recent claims have made me feel much less confused on where to go next

It kinda feels like that but I have a PoE so I'm happy.

If you do scumread me, even just a little, please explain why and not just "I would rather vote Drookez over x" or "I see the case for Drookez stronger than x". It's very difficult for me to respond when you don't point out what exactly makes me scummy. I won't be around near deadline but will be around to address any concerns now.

afaict it's the claim people don't like and they think it's 3p.

your roles are empower, motivator, and bulletproof right? while I can see bulletproof being on a 3p, I can't really think of what your wincon would be other than to just survive if you were a 3p. motivator seems town, no idea about empower.

See this is what I don't understand - in what logic does those three roles suggest a third party? The only reasoning I've seen so far is that "it's a role that wants to pretend to be town so they can survive as a third party" which is like mental gymnastics???? Why isn't the reasoning just "those roles help town win so he's town" it's honestly so confusing to me. And you don't have to think about what my wincon would be if I were a 3p because I am not a 3p!!!!!! If you think motivator is town, empower should also be seen as town because in essence they are both beneficials so I don't know why you would think one is town and the other isn't.

literally just this, how are we moving to a nuxl/spiderz/drookez vote here i literally don't understand

My issue with you Drookez basically boils down to two things:
- you’re claiming an insane number of roles for a village-aligned player. Your role strength seems totally inconsistent with what I’d expect / my own role / other flipped roles
- you’ve not posted any pressure onto anybody and have basically just coasted by on a theory of ‘anybody other than me’

- friendly hydra
