NOC Wikimafia, The Free Online Mafia [TOWN+BROIL WIN]

Psypsypsypsypsythe did you have any thoughts so far?
hal and tommy both feel towny to me? tommys advice post just now is super helpful and is definitely something to keep in mind so im interested to see why hal feels like its anti town? (especially since hal made similar newbie-directed advice posts last game) i dont really agree with the idea of tommy pointing out the modspewing being like just for town cred or some big play because of just how casual it was. hal pushing it feels towny because hes at least creating discussion and the way his messages read just comes across very genuine and i think itd be hard to fake those in the moment reactions.

i also feel like hydro is town. it seems like theyre not really sure whats going on so theyre asking questions to help clarify concerns/confusion and gain a better understanding of the logic people are using to reach certain conclusions which is like literally most of what i was doing last game

Where I'm at right now is that ultimately I want to follow your lead, but I'm horribly confused by where you're taking me. I feel like you are getting frustrated and resigned because I'm not gung ho in this with you. I mean yes that post is bad now that its in the thread, but I also think Tommy believes what he said. iirc he posted something similar in the spec chat the other day.

it's obvious to everyone why setting public expectations to new players around how to approach nightkills is antitown though, i feel? like, you can't say to people, "hey if someone you think is town doesn't get killed just fucking merc them day 3"?

it's a good habit to get into and learn, it's a process and ofc nothing in mafia is always true which is why I said ask the questions, not follow through and 100 percent vote the towniest person

even if it doesn't help them this game it's good to learn and know in the future and I think it was lacking last game tbh

Ftr it's a very real possibility hal is trying to set himself up to power wolf rn but that being said I don't want me to get voted today and town hal to get voted tomorrow and for us all to be just gigafucked so, just throwing out the universe that it's a possibility but I don't want to thunderdome hal today either

no, i get that you don't believe in the tommy wagon. i'm not asking you to share my faith, only your vote.

when i start getting resigned i'll let you know. it's page 10. i'm still feeling good. thank you for the therapy which started on page 9 where you were talking about my mindset and my fear of losing as town again. i am glad that this therapy has extended into page 10.

antitown isn't alignment indicative. it's just bad for town. i think it's bad for town to set expectations around how to analyze nightkills. this is different from talking shit in spec chat, where you're around people you've played dozens of games with. this is a public instructive post for newcomers given to them day 1, before mafia makes their choice of kill.

Did you have thoughts on anybody besides hal?

why do you want to follow Hal's lead, is he town to you? why?

yw buddy maybe we can extend it into page 300.

I do think hal is probably town because I think his shift in play this game makes sense in the context of last game.

Is shift in play to you something tends to not do when they switch alignments?

he was town last game why would you expect him to have the same performance as mafia as his last town game?

Okay yeah its anti-town to post it, I thought you were trying to say it was ai. My impression is that you felt Tommy had an anti-town town game so it felt kinda weird to me.

I would expect a shift in play, yes, but not necessarily play that makes perfect sense to me. Hal's game is usually kind of an enigma to me, but right now I think I understand what he's doing. I'm reading him town because its a shift that makes sense to me, not just because there's a shift.

good news: you no longer are 100 percent easily identifiable based on 3 posts

bad news: you are a mafia lean for me now

Vote M2H

Not sure how to respond to this because I still don't necessarily scum read you but you expressing a scumread on me is a bad look for you in the context of your usually perfect read on me.

Weird question but do you think you would have found me as town last game?

I dont can you explain plz

It's about removing the threatening hypothetical thread presence even if its not a solid read. It's a "I know I can get any vote I want, and also know that in a scum!Tommy world he doesn't get voted out if I die" decision. That is admittedly a fair point as last game the situation was mirrored almost exactly except hal didn't push the US/Texas reads d1 and pushed Hydro instead. I think hal saw town's overall inability (tbh me) to vote out what he saw as powerful thread presences that were easy catches for him. I think he is shifting towards removing the powerful thread presence wrt having an actual high confidence read.

Or he could just scum read him idk.
