NOC eli loves matrices game thread [Game Over, Town Win!]

I advise against getting too involved in arguing with psy, it's bad for the blood pressure and just results in a dozen pages that don't get much done. Coutnerpoints to a few posts, sure. But a dozen pages of arguing doesn't do much, and as Psy pointed out (I agree here), it only benefits scum.
You're right though I felt this particular exchange was more content-based than everything before the wall so was worth pursuing.

Because it appeared and I anticipated you would try to make that (in my view misinterpret) the post in that way, my brain had the answer revved up and ready to go.

This one? Yeah, I think it could easily have been theatre. It is uh, very difficult to prove or disprove theatre over text. I've had successful mafia theatre that is more elaborate than the exchanges between you and Caff in the past though.
why doesnt caff dig his heels in though? youll notice that after i make
okay fuck that. I've been extremely toned down this game and I very clearly have explained my reasoning for voting for vizh. to completely disregard it as if I'm talking nonsense is so dismissive and ridiculous
this post, caff disappears for about a full hour when he comes back and makes the circle of loss wheel post which is also where this exchange happens
okay it wasnt that funny guys enough reacting
fr if you want me to stop, I'll stop

but if you act like this in the town square, the passersby can't help but notice.
if caff and i are trying to be aggressive towards each other to distance, why is caff trying to cool it down instead of returning that animosity?

to me, caffs behavior in these exchanges read as scum trying to cool off the heat to avoid provoking a town onto voting them purely out of aggravation

There is a lot of loading and assumption here. You don't need to have an argument to distance yourselves from one another, nor does the aim of theatrics need to be distancing. Caff and you were both posting on-meta, and you were using each other to do so. It was neither buddying nor distancing sometimes, and simply a way to look like town. Caff's meta is that enigmatic, cool guy. Your meta is the opposite, and where you had interactions both metas were fulfilled.

Bear in mind that every interaction two members of the mafia team have with each other in-thread is theatre. Hell, every interaction a maf has with a townie in-thread is theatre too.

i love how celever acts like theres absolutely anything i can say that will change his mind. hes clearly decided im scum and i must die and thats all there is to it and theres nothing i can do
I mean in the nicest way, when you've been right or adequately countered an argument, I have changed my mind and retracted the point. It just isn't a common occurrence.

One of the main reasons I'm not against you this game is a bit of guilt over using you as a scapegoat D1 last game... Please don't keep making me regret that guilt. Not the action, the guilt for it.
