Try Bronzor, it's quite easy to chain with a Magnet Pull.
Numel's nature depends on the set. I would go with Earth Power, Flamethrower, Stealth Rock and Will-o-Wisp. With a Bold or Modest nature. It's up to you if you want a more agressive one or a more defensive one. You can try Choice Specs Camerupt with Eruption and Explosion.
 
im going adamant for a rest-talker set. brave for a CBer works well too.

edit: where are you chaining numels btw? im at route 227 doing camerupts but the ashes make it a bit tough to see.

Edit: Oh wow! I see that some of you took my request ^^ I really want any Shiny Numel that I can have :P Different sets FTW!
 
anyone advice on where to chain numels/camerupts at that isn't in ashes? or am i stuck here?

Ended my chain because it on an edge.... I should've fucking waited.... It's so-so for IVs, could be worse I suppose...

Chain breaking is the worst. If you're up for it, keep going. You using a synchronizer?

yea i was... got up to 41... had an adamant level 92 kadabra OHKOing all of them with psychic. apparently it's a bit easier on top of stark mountain though, so i will continue there later tonight if i dont find master sunny to get his impish ditto.
 
Hmm, I don't know. Impish isn't the Nature that I prefer on Camerupt, but it still looks totaly awesome cuz it's shiny :P.
But I guess I want a +Atk or +SpA nature on him or a real nice IV one.^^
 
yea i know i have an adamant syncher... no dice though... just lost another chain around 20 to a random fearow...

i suppose im done for right now on those.

this is for ya'll that are chaining Dittos

i find that a Bronzong is very useful against them, im always able to catch a sleeping, transformed Ditto at full Health with a Repeat/Dusk Ball

Bronzong

- Block (i used it for Sychronize Abras/Kadabras, its not necessary)
- Hypnosis (obvious sleep)
- Extrasensory (does crap damage, but u dont wanna kill anyway, and 30 PP is awesome)
- Rest (it'll sleep itself alot of the time)
 
How does being on an edge break a chain? Can you not just reset to a more favourable position?

I'm on 49 with Ponytas. All since 40 have been shiney. Still going, just needed a break. I'm planning on keeping going till I run out of repels or get reaaaaaly sick of it! I figure I have to get a brilliant one by the time I finish!

I think the preferred method is to toss magikarp in front of ditto. repeat balling a magikarp is near fool-proof.
 
Wow, lots of posts!! I love seeing that, but I'm not going to respond to them since there's so many. Congrats to those who have been successful. As you may have noticed, I'm creating a list of the pokes we've captured since the guide was formed. Please post what you have captured if you're not already on there. I'm still going through the old thread. Not sure what I'm going to do about IV's, I may make a little Hall of Fame or something. I may make it with only 5 slots, so there's a little competition?

Chronos - Have you caught all those since the start of the guide, or before? Nicely done either way.
