for the last year or whatever since the bicycle gen released, I (never played the game, knows nothing about them) assumed it was based on mainland China due to having Chinese-inspired names such as "chi yu" and "ting liu". I was visiting a friend who played the whole thing a few weeks ago and it came up and he explained they were based on Spain even though the guy's names don't sound spanish at all. Who knew!
