I've played Pokemon since... technicallly 3rd gen with Pokemon XD for my old (and still functional) GameCube. My first "main series" game was Pokemon Pearl, nearly 3 years after it was released. At first, I didn't exactly like Pokemon; at 9, I didn't like to read much of the in-game text, so I got lost and confused quite easily. Once I started to get the basic mechanics down, the game finally started to grow on me. I now have 8 Pokemon games, and I'm interested in learning more about competitive battles and more advanced game mechanics like Independent Values and Effort Values.
