It's unfortunate that the Gen IX starters have slightly underwhelming shinies, but I'd rather get them shiny here than go through an egg gauntlet. However, I second that isn't that fun to have to evolve a pokemon that rarely spawns as is.

Chikorita is one of the most misunderstood pokemon in the franchise and I feel like I see a lot of people quote Karen while still using chikorita as a punching bag! :0( Johto was one of the worst regions for Chikorita and I hope people see it eventually for the cute little plant dino it is!

I love the lore and the design behind Clefairy, and love how they stuck to it's lore a lot with GSC, HGSS, PLA, SV all having instances calling back to its numerous dex entries of dancing under the moonlight.
