    This is definitely not true. Maybe your game glitched or something because they do sparkle when the battle starts, not before.

    You know the list of removed moves that was posted a while ago? It turns out some of them actually are still in the game and do work, even though the text data was scrubbed and marked as invalid. So yeah, Game Freak probably removed some of those for DLC.
