Those pokemon all check different aspects of MRay (except for xerneas, that gets OHKOed by +1 dragon ascent even with max defense investment), but none can check all of them. If fact, MRay can only ever counter SD sets, because DD sets destroy them, using groudon rids you of the chance to run...

But why not just use the either the DD or SD set with earthquake? It's a guaranteed 2HKO at +1, and forget about it at +2, and that's using max HP, max DEF+ for the calcs. Sure you have to set up, but PDon does too. I don't see a reason to use surf for anything other than the shock value.

Landorus! That's who I was thinking of. That makes a lot of sense, but I really don't like defog. I like having my own hazards up, and defog clears everything, so I think I'll go with your first suggestion and change to choice scarf. I actually have latios scarfed for a very specific reason...

Awesome, thanks. Yeah, I wasn't sure if gyro ball went by base speed or the speed stat, which would obviously be reduced by thunder wave, so power whip it is. I'll definitely take a look at the other stuff as well.
