Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I'm just bored of Tera. Bored of still losing to a counter Tera even if you play well or have a lead like 3-1. I'll accept losing to a deserved sweep, but not one because I get countered and then reverse swept because I don't have any more options anymore or had lost an SE mon early on. Or...
I think that's going to be the general take on things until we're back to DLC1 pool of acceptable mons lol. Because that's honestly the direction I think the meta will settle to in the end.
Yea it's unfortunate we are probably going to lose a naturally special OU ice type. But Kyurem was pretty overbearing. I was personally using Sub/Leftover Kyurem, and it carved pretty big holes in to teams despite coming in on rocks.
Oh well, time to use the other special ice type, Protean Ice...
Why not just keep Sleep Clause and make Sleep only 2 turns and call it a day. Don't have to argue % chance to sleep or number of turns to sleep since you know you can 'come back' eventually. I've had more or equal amount of games being more infuriating due to flinch or para hax.
I agree. Tera blast is just a part of the bigger problem/conundrum. Stuff like Tera Flying Roaring Moon or Tera Ground Earth Power Kyurem become very overbearing because of the sudden change in type matchup and STAB.
For me, it's because you have to keep all your checks healthy, and that's not guaranteed because of Tera to Fairy or Flying. That makes fighting Gambit aggravating if you have to keep your dedicated gambit counter healthy or non boostered or non Tera'd or whatever. A lot can happen in a round.
I think Stellar Enamorous is actually a bit of a trap. It's incredibly frail and dies to very strong priority + stealth rock chip. Also once your opponent obviously stellar teras enamorous, you're pretty much free to bring in your faster boost/scarf, priority or counter stellar mon. Admittedly...
Of the options listed, I think:
Deo-S :Deoxys-Speed:
Roaring Moon :Roaring Moon:
Kingambit :Kingambit:
Gholdengo :Gholdengo:
Iron Boulder :Iron Boulder:
Enamorus :Enamorus:
Are the only ones that more or less need to be banned. If you can tell, these guys pretty much necessitate Priority or...
glowking walls this for days. Also any bullet punch priority or even a Tera poison levitator. For webs, yea there isn't a good solution, just bring your best boot spinner and hope they don't have a bunch of ghosts I guess.
I haven't tried NP darkrai yet, but I've been playing around a little with a choice scarf Stellar Type Darkrai as a theoretical soft check/revenger (and a bit of brainrot). It's supposed to beat +1 Speed Tera'd pokemon and the fastest booster Iron Boulder. And also generally chip pokemon...
Kyurem @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Scale Shot
- Dragon Dance
- Tera Blast
I run this to be Baxcalibur at home lol. But you are very vulnerable to wisp and knock off, intimidate, hazards, etc. I'm not...
I'm not personally finding Stellar Enamorous (with Scarf) to be that good yet. Sure I get to revenge kill the Tera threat, but then I get revenged by a faster booster mon lol. Iron Boulder that proceeds to sword dance.
Things I thought I should add my two cents:
Hazard issue again. Gliscor/Deo Speed are absolutely the best hazard stackers now. There's no notable new defogger as far as I could see in the teambuilder (but I only looked at OU and UU), and rapid spin distribution was only given to blastoise...
