Sp. Atk: 100
Sp. Def: 110
Speed: 112 (Right between Gengar and Starmie)
BST: 580
Possible Abilities: Adaptability / Defiant / Serene Grace (DW)
Given her high speed, good mixed attacking stats, moderate bulk, and vast movepool, only rivaled by the likes of Mew and Smeargle, she looks to have plenty of potential and flexibility. Unfortunately, her typing lets her down on both counts, a valuable dark resistance and ghost immunity largely wasted by her 4x weakness to the fighting coverage moves often carried by such attackers, and a subpar HP stat doing no favors for her by making hits from the likes of Seismic Toss quite painful (although she is at least immune to Night Shade). Offensively, she is similarly let down, as that vast movepool fails to include any reliable boosting moves-- instead, she's left only with the likes of Acupressure. Yet, her abilities and movepool are just enough to make up for these problems, with Defiant allowing her to potentially sweep as a Defog blocker, while the equally useful Adaptability allows her to bluff a Defog blocker set, making for some interesting mind-games.
Defiant Attacker
Item: Life Orb/Blackglasses/Lum Berry
Nature: Jolly/Naive/Hasty/Adamant
-Knock Off/Crunch
-Return/Pursuit
-Close Combat/Overheat
-Extremespeed/Sucker Punch/Pursuit
Knock Off is STAB, hitting anything but megas hard and punishing switches (which it tends to force with its attempts to block Defog). Crunch is a slightly more reliable option for damage, but Knock Off's utility and her access to Return as a secondary STAB for damage tends to minimize its use. If using Crunch, Pursuit becomes an option for trapping the likes of Gengar, functioning similarly to a scarfed Tyranitar, but Close Combat must be used for coverage, in that case. While generally best kept as a mostly physical set, to best take advantage of possible Defiant boosts, but a special move can be useful to take out specific threats-- most notably Overheat to hit Skarmory, Lucario, and Bisharp, who otherwise wall this set. If purely physical, Close Combat is the next best bet, denting Skarmory and OHKOing Bisharp and Lucario. Extremespeed is generally the favored priority, as it allows her to pick off faster threats like Greninja after a boost. Sucker Punch is an option, to hit quicker Rapid Spinners like Starmie, or to surprise faster threats like Alakazam, but its unreliability makes it generally the inferior option. Blackglasses is the preferred item if eschewing Return and/or Extremespeed, but Lum Berry is notable for its use in revenge-killing Thundurus without fearing paralysis, among other things. That said, the power drop is significant, especially without a Defiant boost. Adamant is an option if providing Sticky Web support, or otherwise not needing the check for faster threats, but a speed boosting nature is almost always the better choice. Substitute may seem valuable for blocking status, but the primary status she fears is Thundurus's Thunder Wave, which is Prankster speed regardless. Add to that her terrible HP, and her substitutes won't be tanking much in way of damage.
