  2. Milotic

Seeing as Milotic is the only pure Water type with Recover, it will always be viable as a bulky option, however limited. Suicune is bait with Rest, and Slowking/bro have defensive holes in Ghost/Dark/Bug types. There is also one boon to that good special defence- tanking volt turn. Unless the...
  3. Pokémon Milotic

Who is Milotic outclassed by exactly? It may not seem like a big thing but only a scant number of competitive bulky waters carry instant recovery: Slowbro, Slowking, and Milotic. This already distinguishes it from most bulky waters. While Slowbro/king has Regenerator and therefore greater...

  5. Kingdra Discussion

Doesn't Empoleon wall all of Kingra's sets still?
  6. Ambipom

Ambipom is perfectly suited for UU, so long as you're using it right. It may not be as stable a lead as it was in the previous gen, but it still has its matchups (ie in most instances, Amipom>Azelf). There is also match preview, so you can simply start with something else. Life Orb is still the...
  7. Ambipom

Want an Ambipom moveset? http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/ambipom Nothing has changed for Ambipom. The two new moves that potentially could be used have better alternatives. Ankle Sweep in most cases is inferior to Low Kick due to the heavy weight steels and rocks tend to carry. Acrobat...
  8. Heracross Discussion

Probably not unless it was CBed, but if Emboar was coming in the switch I don't think it would matter as you'd get 2HKOed by Close Combat (unless Hera uses Megahorn or Emboar has a scarf). But really you wouldn't switch either Hera or Emboar into the other unless you were desperate; it's just...
  9. Arcanine

That's true actually, I completely forgot about those Pokemon you mentioned haha
  10. Arcanine

Hmm I don't see it happening. Agility sets just don't work very well imo. The only truly successful one in Gen IV/V would be Empoleon, and that is due to Sandstorm immunity, priority resistances barring Mach Punch, and Torrent. Unless it pulls off Flash Fire in the Sun, the only advantage...
  11. Regenerator

Doesnt matter if Mienshao has higher attack; as I said, a Technician boosted Fake Out makes Ambipom stronger in all combinations barring Mienshao's Fake Out + Hi Jump Kick. And while powerful it's not reliable, something that is critical in the role that Ambipom/Mienshao would usually perform...
  12. Ambipom

Even with a Technician boost I think Low Kick would be the better fighting move. Most of the steels/rocks that Ambipom would be up against are heavy and would deal more damage than Ankle Sweep. The speed drop effect hardly matters either; even if you predict perfectly, whatever you could KO in...
  13. Regenerator

Depends what you mean by 'better.' Mienshao has a lot of perks with Regeneration, but unless it pulls off a Fake Out + Hi Jump Kick Ambipom will deal more damage. It is also significantly faster and more consistent in that you don't have to worry about taking that 50% hp drop.
  14. Giant Killers

Even though I am being biased, I think I've outlined its qualities to justify its use. I suppose I could change Leech Seed, it's just that I remember situations where it has helped tremendously. Is bulky Gyara really that threatening? Wood Hammer does about 30%+ to it I reckon, and since bulkies...
  15. Giant Killers

@SlimMan Ambipom isn't really designed to stay in, so usually how it plays out is that it won't show up again until late game. That's why I think U-turn is unnecessary, it won't do much to things it'll switch out on (ie steels), and switching achieves the same goal without life orb damage...
