I think that during the time of the GBA games the event modifier would be fair if you didn't live in a country where the events were. Although if you use the event Pokemon for competitive battling in D/P it would be unfair so I think the shiny one is the best.

Does anyone have any clue at all when the events will be because I'm happy that they'll be doing them over wi-fi too now so everyone with wi-fi can get them as well so you don't have to go to an event.
