  1. Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

I'm actually more shocked (only slightly, given some of the other choices/decisions in TMs in Gen 9) that Dugtrio lost Aerial Ace in Gen 9. Checking the learnset quite a few things lost it in Gen 9, though I question some of them being able to learn a slashing move in the first place...
  2. Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

If you're going by the logic of "it becomes a Ghost-type," what's your take on the Duskull line learning it?
  3. Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I don't feel like searching. Electroweb's distribution is pretty easy to follow. Electric types, a good smattering of Bug types, a couple of Electric-adjacent Pokémon... And this guy :SV/passimian: This isn't new, either; it's gotten it since Gen...

Yeah, I always felt that the MC being from Kanto in Gen 7 was a part of the Gen 1 references they focused on for the 20th anniversary.
  5. Unpopular opinions

Yeah that's the point lol I know Let's Go gets some hate but I think it was well-executed for what it was (a bridge between Go and the mainline games) and I enjoyed it on those merits. It was meant to be simpler, a little cuter, and a way to show that the Alolan forms exist to fill type gaps in...

Hey, looping the first 12 seconds worked fine for the SV Elite Four battle theme... right? :tymp:
  7. Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

I was going through various coverage/TM moves in Gen 9 and stumbled on the fact that Slugma can get High Horsepower via TM, but Magcargo can't. Not sure if it's an intentional design choice meant to communicate a perplexing change from evolution or just a mistake.
  8. Unpopular opinions

The other two niche points I am aware of any Pokémon ever wanting to hit (outside of weird Speed creep shenanigans) are Kartana/Stakataka deliberately aiming for a lower IV for their Attack/Defense respectively so they could make Beast Boost increase Speed/Attack instead. And even then...
  9. Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

I am a big proponent of Lumineon getting Quiver Dance, though I would also argue it kind of sets itself apart from being a generic fish by its butterfly-esque movepool. Unfortunately its stats are extremely and detrimentally "generic fish." To add to the convo, I think it's crazy that Drowzee...
  10. (Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

I understand why they removed them and can actually see possible problems with implementing them with purely overworld spawns (mainly from a niche "player can't get to a shiny/rare pokemon because a repel is active" standpoint). The other thought is to have them just reduce overworld spawns...
  11. (Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

It's an amalgamation of 108 evil spirits sealed away. Gameplay-wise, it also had (under normal circumstances) no weaknesses in its debut generation. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the 108 symbolism (IIRC it's a Buddhism thing?) to say for sure but I assume that Spiritomb being a royal pain...

I like Thorton, I feel like the clothes are feasible/stereotypically nerdy, even if the hair is a little out there. Never noticed that about Dahlia's hair, though. That's going to bother me.
  13. Research Scarlet & Violet Battle Mechanics Research

Noted (and I understand the frustration from that). Will use this if it comes up again. I'm not involved in testing mechanics or ensuring accuracy like you are, so I'll take your word for it, but I don't think I've personally had many issues using Bulbapedia for general move info. When I say...
  14. Research Scarlet & Violet Battle Mechanics Research

Forgive me if I'm overstepping my boundaries here. While I understand your frustration with whoever misinterpreted your initial research and put that incorrect conclusion as fact on Bulbapedia, I doubt the edit was done in bad faith, and I don't feel that the user who asked about move type...
  15. (Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Archaludon is pushing it but I can see Duraludon being fairly light. It's named after duralumin, and a Google search puts its density at about 3x that of water. It's also based on buildings, which are more space than mass for their volume. It's still way too light for its height, but I can see...
